Yeah, I know there's ways around it. Initially it was being argued that it just couldn't be patched at all, rather than that it would be patched and people would find ways to get around it.
They can totally issue a patch, which won't accomplish anything for dedicated people. I know my 3DS wifi is already shut off.

First I buy an EU unit after the announcement of localizations of SMT4 and RF4... only to have them both delayed significantly and then released as DD only.
Then I turn down a chance to buy DOA and this game, knowing that they were likely exploitable games.

Also, just started to see £100 listings show up. At that point you might as well buy a second 3DS if you wanted it for region free.

Actually I like that, it means there's no evidence of homebrew on your system for Nintendo to find if you need to get your 3DS repaired.

Yeah it really wont take off, you have to imagine most people buying this game arent developers. Is there any 3DS emulators where interested devs could try their stuff out?
3DS homebrew devs probably have Gateways, which have been able to run 3DS homebrew for a while.

I'm so annoyed that I didn't log in to GAF all day. ARGH. Just ordered this on eBay US for $40 + $22 shipping and prepaid 'customs fees'. £26 GBP, could've been worse. Some PAL copies on eBay are going for £100.
Anyone know where to get a decently priced PAL copy? I'd be tempted to buy a standard white 3DS, PAL one if I could get the game at a decent cost.

A local charity shop or car boot sale.

Why can't Best Buy just ship me a copy
1. It cost me £4.28 and CEX are offering £26 cash trade in for it.
2. I have a 3DS which I will be keeping offline for this.

Your second point is alright, but if for some reason these cartridges get less desirable, the trade in value will fall, no doubt about it.
And if it does, then I've only spent the equivalent of a mcdonalds breakfast.
Keeping a 3DS offline is not exactly rocket science...
They will never reach the £5 mark again unless other exploits are found, making this game useless. Even if that happens, £5 isn't exactly much lost.
Some people will just stay offline and not update to make sure that this doesn't get patched on their system.
I bought from Dealtavern too. Still says preparing for shipment and estimated delivery Friday, I got it for $10 about 45 minutes after the reveal. Fingers crossed.

I'm buying a 2DS just for homebrew and emulation. My XL will go untouched.
It can't play them...yet. With basic exploits come infinite possibilities.
Pal for £19, I might just go for it now after all this. 2-4 week delivery time though.
My PAL New Nintendo 3DS is being sent out to me tomorrow. That will be for my games and eshop, and my old 3DS will be used for offline homebrew. Sorted.
