Post from today on blu-ray.com Bebop thread.

Goddamnit, I just know my set is going to get blasted. Fully expecting a fucked up case :lol

Mine came in a carboard box. So happy.

I've never seen Cowboy Bebop, and I pre-ordered it the second it was up because I've been watching older anime for a few months.

The Amazon Edition is so nice. I love the art book and Sketchbook.

Off to see this series!

if you really don't want to pay for the blu-ray and just want to watch the show, I think it'll be made available on Hulu soonish.

If it's as good as everyone says I really wouldn't mind picking up the bluray. I watched the first episode on Hulu, but I'm not sure if that's the remastered version or not. I'm guessing it is?

Indeed. Those shots are definitely remastered. The full series comes out the 19th on Hulu, but the first four are out now. You want to get to episode five, for sure.

My copy arrived from Amazon in a fucking envelope.

Yet somehow it was 100% intact.

Awesome set, though I dont understand why they include pig disgusting DVDs. If you still need DVDs, you shouldn't have nice LEs to go along with them

I hope I'm not the only one who did this-

Yesterday I got home from work, fixed my dinner, popped in the first disc and sat down to watch. I immediately thought "Wow, this looks amazingly shitty. This looks exactly like a DVD." A few seconds after the credits were over (edit: that's opening credits, mind you,) before I went ahead and blew my stack, I got up and ejected the disc and confirmed it was a DVD. I picked up the box set and slapped my forehead when I saw that it included the full series on both DVD and blu-ray, but they put the DVDs in front. I immediately rearranged them, sent the DVD scum to the back of the bus.

Yep, did this exact same thing as well. My buddy was in full on placebo mode though. "Woah! It looks way better!"

long shot i know but if anyone wants to trade their Funimation edition for my brand new amazon collectors edition i'd be up for it, i missed out and want that one haha

I didn't do this, but I was shocked at the size of the Blu-ray box before I realized it was because it included all of the DVD episodes. The actual image quality of the Blu-ray set is really awesome. I will probably never even touch the DVDs.

In fairness, the DVDs will look a lot better because they're from the remaster and not some composite source like Bandai's old release. It's just that the Blu Rays will look better still.

Oh, man... lol!

How ever much better the new DVDs look compared to the old, the idea of someone not instantly realizing they aren't HD blu-rays is literally laughable.

Im just gonna guess you havent bought any anime sets recently. A lot if them gave both dvd and bluray in the same box. You learn to make sure you have the right discs. Funimation especially does this.

It's in perfect condition!

Now I'll wait.. see if I want to open it or sell it. Oh those ebay prices aren't high at all anymore. Gonna keep it.

Also did the DVD/Blu-Ray swapperoo. So dumb. Got my Funi LE today; it's gorgeous. I may keep it sealed as I've already opened my Amazon LE but I kind of want to display it. Decisions, decisions. Still, BEBOP IN HD IS HERE! FINALLY! Hooray.

Finally broke down and decided to open the funimation edition since I wanted to watch it. Amazing packaging.

Yeah I remember you posting that old ass tube tv a few weeks back in the NFL thread haha

Thats my Dads tv but he has a 40 hdtv in the back room.actually the whole rest of his house is all hd just that one tv is too stubborn to quit and the pq for a crt is amazing. At my house I have a 55 in hdtv in my bedroom. Picture quality doesnt matter a whole lot to me just that my collection stays scratch free.

The movie released after the series but is generally thought to take place between episodes 22 and 23.
Not just "generally thought", actually: the staff said that's when it's set and there's no other possibility, logically, based on a couple of details.

I have had mine ordered since August and it's still preparing to be sent.

That's free shipping at its finest. I was thinking I'd get it early just like everybody else.

Screw selling it. What's a hundred bucks or two in the great scheme of things. Money comes and money goes. Enjoy the little things while you can.

I agree. I get that exact same feeling pricing comics. It's worth more than a dollar okay, but it sure takes the fun out of enjoying something.

Haven't rewatched either in full in quite a while (this blu-ray will be the first time in almost a decade) so I didn't remember if that was ever confirmed.

Tough break, placed my order on monday and received it today. I used free shipping as well.
I didn't know it coming to hulu. I keep my mine seal for sure now.

You're not selling it for the $220-$300 it was being posted on Ebay unless you're incredibly lucky.

All the bids I've seen are going for around $115-$180.

I'm glad I opened mine. I kinda want to take apart the sketchbook and artbook and scan it, but it's just so nice :(

Hoping someone does that for me :p

Yeah, my friends and I have been passing around an old bootleg (I suspect at least) copy for the last couple years so the DVDs were probably better quality like tuffy said. I just thought it was funny that it took an entire episode for me to look through the case and see there were different discs. We both felt like idiots afterwards. The Blu Ray version looked so much better after watching the DVDs haha.

As far as selling the Amazon edition, it didn't even cross my mind. I bought it for my own enjoyment and not to make a quick buck. I did kinda regret not buying a second copy but after hearing they aren't selling for that much of a markup that regret is gone.
