Googled it and PAL seems to have the following languages: -english, -french, -german, -spanish, -portugese, -italian, -dutch, -russian

Screw it, I am going for it. The price is better than US.

Don't forget it's region locked. You'll have to import all your games from EU region as well.

Ok, so I browsed this thread and I can't quite find a specific answer I'm looking for.

I already have a 3DS XL. Inside it is a Micro SD card inside a Micro-to-regular adapter.

Since I'm already using a Micro SD card, can I simply move that card to the new system and initiate the transfer? Or do I still need to go through the annoying process of moving stuff from one card to another?

I preordered the MH4 bundle on the day it was announced by Nintendo from Gamestop. I also opted for One Day shipping. What are the chances of me getting it on the 13th itself?

ABORT ABORT!
If going physical sure, but digital isn't much of an issue. Since eShop is international, you can use MasterCard and Visa on it no problem.
I learned much from my JP white n3DS. I wanted a black one. I am going to stop I swear. XD

Edit: Also JP eShop prices sure suck. I got a retail copy of two games + shipping cheaper than the eShop total price.

Oh ok, just wanted to tell you in case you didn't know. Don't know PAL or JP prices, I've only used NA eshop hehe.
No problem. I have a regular XL + LL CPP for all my old games. I can hope PAL goes like JP and offer games 40% off the first week/month.

I believe you still need to do the license transfer, but that's it. You should then just be able to transfer your SD card to the new system.

It's been years since I did my last one, how long should a transfer take?

Since it's only licenses it can't be more than a few minutes, eh?

I need to know whether to take a longer lunch break on Friday.

Same boat, NO CLUE. I have a pending charge but nothing has moved on the order except losing the ability to change the Shipping type.

A little grumbly at the chance of it not arriving, what's the point otherwise?

Still no word on the new charging dock going on sale in the US?
I wouldn't hold my breath honestly. Best be importing it if you really want it (Any dock for that matter).
Yeah, whatever shipping Play-Asia does is really cheap compared to Nin-Nin and Nippon. Usually the prices are high, but that is a fair listing. I say go for it.

Guess I'll ask since I didn't import the dock back in October but does it plug into the n3ds or is it like the OG 3ds dock where is wasn't a plug?

My dock pretty much holds the system and charges via touching the charge port. You still need a charger to plug into the dock.
I assume the LL dock is pretty much the same as a regular dock.

Edit: It is also not reversible, so make sure you can see the top light when you put down your n3DS.

Well I mean as in does it still rely on those pins that I can't remember the term for
Oh, no it doesn't clasp the system like the old one did. You just put it in and it charges via contact.
Here is a picture of one in use:

Since the charge port is located in a different area, it only works on the New line of systems.

Edit: You meant pin charging, then yes. However, different place so old docks won't work.

I got my charging cradle a few weeks ago off eBay. I didn't want to worry about weather or not it was coming out in the US, so I just got one ahead of time.

It occurred to me the other day that whenever my system (which in my case will be the Majora's Mask Edition) is in the cradle, the design will be upside down. Good job Nintendo!

It's funny all the stuff I have and am waiting for regarding the New 3DS release.

At home waiting I have already: The charging cradle, a new Micro SD card, and a new charger.

Coming Friday from Amazon will be my Prima CE Guide and a Hori screen protector. (I love how the screen protector actually has a release date.)

Also coming but I don't know when from Best Buy will be my MM edition of the system itself but I have no idea of what the shipping speed is even going to be. Then from GameStop, I have my Skull Figure edition of the game coming as well.

Such a disjointed mess!

Oh and let me not forget that my wife is 9 months pregnant and the baby is due pretty much any time now. This could be an interesting week for me!

Is it worth trading in my PS Vita for this? I barely play it. All I have on it is:

MGS HD Collection
Need for Speed Most Wanted
God of War Collection
Guacamelee
PS All-Stars

Indies:
Don't Starve
Titan Attack
Velocity 2X

I used to have MK 9 on Vita but GameSpy went bye bye thus rendering my Vita useless..

I am still baffled why they put the power button on the bottom. The cart was odd, but I got used to it after a bit. I hear the XL model's power button sticks out, so you may accidentally hit it.
There is plenty of room for it to fit on the front.

If it's like the n3ds, the button is pretty stiff actually

Congratulations on the impending arrival of your child. When my daughter was born, the Vita had just released in the US. That thing was a god send during sleepless nights where I was stuck on the couch with a restless new born laying on my chest. Hopefully the n3DS will help you during long nights as well.

I'm just like you in terms of preparing for the n3DS. I already have

- imported cradle
- imported Hori screen protector
- 64GB micro SD card that's already formatted along with the contents of the previous 32GB SD card I had in my XL. It's not sitting in an SD adapter, inside my XL. System transfer will be quick with that step already completed.

Yeah, the regular model it isn't sticking out but on the XL it sticks out a bit.
I heard reviewers say it, but the store demo showed it definitely is the case. Although as you said the button is indeed stiff, so it may still take some force to push even if it is sticking out. Needless to say I wasn't going to test it out.
I wonder if that dock works with the Hori Duraflexi Protector...
Actually I think it won't because it is really snug with the regular model. Someone can confirm it besides me though since I do not plan to get the new XL.

I am planning all digital, so doesn't bother me too much.
How is PAL eShop prices? JP seems a bit high compared to retail.

I'm not sure how the PAL eShop compares to US but here are some current prices for new releases:
Shantae & Pirates Curse 15.99GBP
Majora's Mask 39.99GBP
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate 39.99GBP
Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy 29.99GBP

And some classic examples:
Animal Crossing New Leaf 34.99GBP
Link Between Worlds 39.99GBP
Mario Kart 7 39.99GBP
Bravely Default 39.99GBP

Games don't get cheap when they've been out a while unfortunately but they do have good offers occasionally, Shin Megami Tensei IV was 11.69GBP a week or so ago.

They sell those Nintendo JAPAN New 3DS LL/XL official licensed Battery Charging Dock on Ebay, so far I have only seen it in black that is compatible with the NEW 3DS XL, I have seen it in other colors but it only says for new 3ds(Not XL) are these charging docks compatible with US version 3ds xl's..dont want to buy it and find out I cant use it..never ordered a product from ebay before from overseas

Will this from Amazon work

(Micro SD) SanDisk Extreme Memory Card, 32 GB $22.99

Not sure I can link so I didn't. The only difference I see is it has a 3 in the U shape and not a 1. I assume just a newer model? It costs $8 more to get the same exact models off the official Nintendo site

Hey thanks! I appreciate that. I actually do have a 3DS XL already so it's not like I don't have one but I am still quite excited for the New XL, and especially since I got the MM one thanks to my wife grabbing a pre order while I was in a job interview. My current XL is the Zelda One and the first special edition I ever had. I'm really ill be able to replace it with an even more limited edition. In an ideal world, I would have the New 3ds to bring to the hospital but I think the baby may beat it here. :)

Why did you import the screen protector? They are on amazon us. (As of a few weeks ago.)

Yes.

Looks like I'd better post this here as well:

This is pretty baller, thanks.

I ordered a microsd from amazon. However, it might not get here in time.

Assuming it doesn't, and I don't play the MH4 online/set up any of that NNID stuff and only do single player content. Will the transfer process also copy my starter MH4 save file, or will that be wiped during the transfer?

You do the transfer, and then the game becomes tied to your Nintendo Network ID on the new console. Simply redownload it from the eshop and enjoy.

However, do NOT login into your Nintendo Network ID on the new 3ds until AFTER you do the transfer. Otherwise, you're boned.

This.

It is VERY important that you do not log in with your NNID on your new 3DS before you do the transfer. When going through initial setup, tell it you don't want to set that up! If you do, apparently when you do the transfer the first step will be to totally format the target system because there's no way for it to merge eshop data between two NNID's. If you do the transfer the correct way, what will happen is that it will just delete what's on the SD card for the new 3DS, and merge all of the eshop data from the new system with your NNID, including the MH4U game.

I haven't gone through the process myself, but that's my understanding of it. If you do mess up and accidentally put your NNID on there and try to do a transfer, then sadly you will need to call Nintendo and hope they can reinstate the game.

However, as Vyse mentions, you will be required to redownload the game as the game itself will be deleted from the SD card (just not the license).

This is why I wish they would have just provided a download code instead to redeem on the eshop or something. Thie system transfer stuff is pure shenanigans!

Thanks. After this is all done then I can switch out micro sd card for a larger one right? Do the transfers, don't put in the NNID on the new system until that's done. Then copy contents of the micro sd card to the computer and copy that to the new card and put that back in?

i canceled my pre-order due to money. the next day my situation changed and pre-orders were already full on all new 3DS XL consoles. I doubt they'll have any when I get off work at 2pm on friday :(

Question regarding screen protectors: The xl protectors would fit in the new xl? Here would be weeks before the new ones would arrive.
