How long is the turn-around to make these? It doesn't feel like GG's been around long enough to have a television episode produced for it that wasn't South Park.

Wait, is this a GG person saying this, or anti-GG? I can't tell by the name which side they're on.

Judging from the episode, probably jumped on making this pretty quick.

Wait what was ice t saying about kotaku.com?
He's talking with a game dev about her game an he basically says how he read about it on Kotaku and it's better than Civ 5 or something.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

He said he read about the game on Kotaku.
It's just one of the many gaming-related things they "researched" and threw it in there to try and be hip.

Wait what was ice t saying about kotaku.com?

He read on Kotaku that Amazonian Warriors was better than Civ 5 with the Brave New World Expansion pack. Seems like something they would say if the AW devs paid them enough.

Very funny episode though. The gamers wearing wrestling masks felt like a nod to the Bane memes that are popular on 4/8chan.

The first victim of Gamergate.

It's Zoe Quinn.

Okay, yeah, guess that makes sense. I saw Quinnspiracy and thought that was a GG-thing.

Is there a South Park episode about it already?

I remember hearing they were doing one, but I don't recall seeing an episode about it. I'm guessing they're anti-GG obviously, but I find it odd they lampooned F2P games when #GG was an issue that needed to be addressed first since it's imo way worse than F2P.

Holy fuck why did I investigate what this was... DO NOT GO THERE! FUCK. (gore warning)

Sorry D: I should have added that in to not look it up for trigger warnings. I'll edit my post.

I hadn't realized anyone or their pet was unfortunate enough to be killed in a swatting (GamerGate-related or otherwise). When was this instance?

The real insanity of swatting is that it is even possible or rather that we know it is possible (not to mention all the other mistakes, which has led to plenty of pointless deaths) and still use SWAT teams so freely.

No one has been killed thankfully and I hope no one ever will be. I still feel so awful about that dog though. Some trigger warnings: http://www.theguardian.com/technolo...w-with-attempts-to-send-swat-teams-to-critics

Had all the classic gamer tropes.

My favorite was, "There is no reset button in the real world." What a classic.

"I read on Kotaku..." They should be proud.

Buzzwords, buzzwords everywhere.

Redditchan? Wait, I'm sorry, did they really call it redditchan? On a subthread? We are going for gold here.

Wait for it!

"Women in gaming, what did I expect?"

And....it's GOOD! (Insert touchdown theme from Tecmo Bowl here)

Attention fellow gaffer we have a new possibility for a meme.

"........................." (words example "The world is flat")
Picture of that thing.

"I read it on Kotaku"

I feel like they realized a typical Law and Order SVU episode wasn't batshit insane compared to GibletGhost and upped the batshit insanity.

Well, that was entirely atrocious. I think my face will be in a permanent cringe all night after subjecting myself to TV writing that awful.

Is that how the episode wraps up? That sounds way worse than any cringey videogame puns.

The developer in question ends up getting gang raped by the people that kidnapped her. They force her to read a message saying that women don't belong in gaming. SVU eventually finds her duct taped to a shotgun. The end scene has her turn to the camera and say "Women in gaming, what was I expecting?". One of officers tells her that she previously said that if she gave up then they'd win. The developer turns around and says "The already have.". It ends up with a stunned look by the officer.

ChickyChickyParmParm? :D

Someone has to take that username now.

Oh god, I just Googled "RedChanIt" and this wasn't the first time SVU used that name. They also used it in an episode based on the Celebrity Nudes Leak. I completely forgot that episode happened.

Fucking hell

Well, it's not far from it. Their twitter harassment has led to swatting, a dog's death from SWAT, women leaving the industry, endless doxxing, having a board named baphomet where they can post doxxes more freely and discuss who'd they like to see dead. Baphomet, 8chan and KiA are their bases of operations and openly and freely discuss what they hate and want done to other people. Constantly organizing operation after operation to harm others.

They're scum.

Did this actually happen? I can't find anything about it.

Jesus thats fucking dark. At least I can be happy that this shit isn't happening in real life.

That just looks like an example of the dangers of Swat teams and not actually related to Gamergate. If not, it would mean someone HAD been killed as a result of this nonsense with the line directly above it about the Utah man.

Still awful though.

This was so ridiculously bad it was hilarious. Like I couldn't take anything even remotely serious enough to even cringe. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at a show.

But yeah, the media still hates stereotypical gamersand is completely without a clue on anything related. That's sort of sad but expected. :(
