Nick, please... Stahp. Half of pretty much every recent page in the screenshot thread has been filled with your FC3 pictures. I'm not saying they aren't nice, but they are often very homogeneous. Obviously this is going to happen as they all come from the same game, maybe take some shots from a different game?

^Thanks, one3rd. It's really nice to know they're appreciated.

I simply love, love, love the art style of Homeworld, which is inspired/influenced by some of the 70's/80's sci art by Peter Elson*, Philippe Bouchet, Chris Foss, Chris Moore, etc., which all contributed to HW's art direction. I also like to think that the composition of some my Homeworld shots are inspired by my exposure to that particular art throughout the years :p

*one of the characters in the game is called Captain Elson after him. He passed away during the development of Homeworld, a bit after the lead artists had a chance to meet him in the UK.

How do you use the cheat engine tables for screenshots? I tried them out and Max Payne 3 just crashes each time.

I have seen the top of the mountain, and you will worship me as though I were a God!

Seriously though, that's pretty cool

You're using this table, right?

The process is pretty simple. Open the table. Use the button in the upper left corner and point it to your game's executable. Then the hotkeys should be working (use them during gameplay, of course).

Came here to show off my 6K resolution e-peen, but obviously Jim's is bigger than anyone's. I'll keep my measly hard-fought resolutions to myself. I'm amazed though that running 6K@50Hz on a 1080p screen is even possible. I'm not God, but you may call me Jesus.

Furthermore: a lot of people in this thread would do better if they stopped talking and disagreeing so much and just spent some time doing research. It's been quite a while, but it was clearly shown by Alo81 that a 100% JPEG and a lossless PNG aren't pixel-perfect copies, but they differ very little. If bandwidth is an issue, it's almost always better to upload in JPEG. Arguably, 100% JPEGs could still be considered overkill. 90-95 would be perfectly fine for a forum like this, especially if people have full resolution stuff accessible on Flickr or wherever. But still, the rules say uncompressed. So people posting Flickr compressed shots... well... that's just wrong. All that said, I'd rather watch a compressed shot with worthwhile composition than the same old tripe over and over again at perfect uncompressed quality. But that's just me.

Dying Light. I'm probably done with the game now. These were shot at my newly won 3240p resolution, downsampled in two steps using Lanczos3 and Lanczos2 respectively, and then losslessly compressed using the Paeth algorithm.
If you want to view my shots at higher resolutions, also PNG, go to my Dying Light album on Flickr.

How?

I haven't been keeping up with the talking in the thread.

In all seriousness... just messing with manual timings. They're very much specific to monitor and cable, but here's what I did:

Nice shots ! Maybe you did it in the thread already but could you share your Reshade Settings ? Thanks.

Sure no problem at all.

If you haven't done so already you'll need to download reshade 2.0 and SweetFx from here.

http://reshade.me/

Latest Mastereffect Reborn from here.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/l8u1sdecn2473di/MasterEffect+1.0.315+Public.7z

In the reshade file turn on swfxtechnicolor and flimicpass

swfxtechnicolor

#define TechniAmount 0.3
#define TechniPower 5.0
#define redNegativeAmount 0.88
#define greenNegativeAmount 0.88
#define blueNegativeAmount 0.88

Filmicpass

#define Strenght 0.725
#define BaseGamma 1.6
#define Fade 0.2
#define Contrast 1.2
#define FSaturation -0.15
#define FBleach 0.005
#define FRedCurve 6.0
#define FGreenCurve 6.0
#define FBlueCurve 6.0
#define BaseCurve 1.5
#define EffectGammaR 1.0
#define EffectGammaG 1.0
#define EffectGammaB 1.0
#define EffectGamma 0.75
#define Linearization 1.3

In the original Far Cry 3 config file I've turned Postfxquality to "false" and saved as read only.

I'm also using Ziggy's mod and Immersive sounds from here.

Hope this helps.

That's what I've been doing but it still crashes. I alt tab out, find the process the check off the stuff I want on the table, trying to go back into the game and it crashes.

Incredible Far Cry 3 shots, thank you for the settings bro.
I also love the render of those Dyin Light shots, can you tell me how I can have the same result please?

Thanks for your feedback. I wasn't going to reply but I thought what the heck..it's not like you were rude. So I'll give up ten mins of my time I would normally have spent playing Far Cry 3 and posting screens here. Having said that I would start off by suggesting you perhaps count the number of pics from each poster over the last five pages (not sure what you define as recent..is five pages fair?) See what kind of count you come up with for each game from each poster. I'd also suggest maybe file a complaint with the mods that there are too many shots of one game from various posters..you never know they may change the rules ? Honestly I think it's a fair rule to say no more than five shots of the same game per page per poster..that way there's variety on each page. Now recently I have done my best to keep it at a minimum to 6-7 shots per page. Now in case you haven't noticed there are also posts from the same game from various posters so think of it as various posters posting Far Cry 3 screens. Maybe that helps?

Now on to the argument. Homeworld? Play that game much? I have but I didn't like it..but I'd never dampen another person's passion for the game. So I hope your argument isn't just for the sake of your own genre preference because I've noticed plenty of repetitive screens from other games on the last few pages that look very "homogenous" (even more so than mine I'd argue), but like I said I'm not one to comment on the efforts of others whether the shot is good, bad or homogeneous in my eyes. I simply hit the scroll wheel and move onto the next shot and spend time gawking at the ones I like. Now if I started posting 10+ screens per page like I was earlier on then I understand your point but the fact is my average is 6 per page "recently". I also understand for those with a slower internet connection it is a bummer to have to wait for screens of games to load that one has zero interest in but..that's the luck of the draw on every page isn't it? You never know what you're gonna get next.

Suggesting one posts shots of a different game can come off as bit condescending to some because that's like saying..hey don't you play any other games or why don't you start playing multiple games at once. I'm sure you didn't mean it that way but just saying and as an FYI I have currently 53 games on my steam account (steam sales oh yeaah!) and Far Cry 3 is the first game I decided to play through until the end and I will do so and continue posting screens here and there until the rules change. fear not, not as much as I used to but you'll have to get used to it.

Don't mean to come off as sarcastic but please do some research before posting an argument unless of course you are talking about "recent" as in the last 10-15 pages. I'm all for agreeing to something if you have a valid point..now you'll have to excuse me, I have to get back to taking screenshots..cheers.

Well to be fair, it's often different people posting games when games are being posted often. That typically means that you see a lot of variety in a single game of people using different settings, different setups, different inherent styles to the type of screenshots they take, etc etc. Like sure, something like Skyrim is a staple of this thread. But it's coming from a variety of posters with a variety of mods or settings. Stuff like Homeworld, even if they are samey, they're samey for a short amount of time before someone else posts the game, or people just move on from it.

Since January 28th (literally over a month!) there have only been 6 days with which you haven't posted a Far Cry 3 screenshot, and on most of the days where you did you posted multiple times. You've shown us all what you can do with Far Cry 3. It looks good! It's not the best looking game ever or the best looking shots ever, but theres a lot of good stuff in there. When you first started posting I enjoyed it and I'd give it a look. After maybe the 3rd or 4th day I just kept scrolling. I'm sure there are plenty others who did the same. It's not because you're bad at, it's just that we've seen you do what you do with it already.

At this point, multiple people have pointed out that you're posting a lot of Far Cry 3 and asked you to stop with the game. Not stop playing it, or play something else, just to not post them here. Not even asking you to stop posting entirely, just screenshot something else if you want to share with the thread. It's a community here dude, it's really ludicrous that despite multiple people pointing it out, you're refusing to budge unless we literally change the very rules of the thread to disallow it. It comes off as really selfish. Most of us aren't moderators and we obviously can't force you to not post Far Cry 3 anymore, but for the sake of everyone involved please stop posting Far Cry 3.

Honestly, like you're saying, it is just a thread in the spirit of good fun and sharing screens for others to enjoy. I mean technically anyone has the RIGHT to post whatever screens they want (within the limits of the rules), but if the purpose is just to catalogue a playthrough of a game for your own record, there are probably better formats for that...

Thanks first of all if you think they look great. It seems we're here for completely different reasons though. I guess I'm here to see screenshots that make me stop and go wow no matter if they come from one game or several different ones. This isn't about promoting mods or how great we get the games to look although that's definitely exciting to see, but to appreciate great screens of some of the games we love and have either played ourselves or are looking forward to playing. No?

So with that being said I'm not sure why you feel this is only about showing screens up to a point where you've shown the community what you've done with it in terms of modding. I can look at a hundred screens from Dragon Age Inquisition or Elite Dangerous without ever feeling bored or that I've seen enough, but then that's just me and I maybe 45 but you can't take the kid out of me when it comes to games..so.I guess that's perhaps where we differ and no doubt there are many others on here who have the same opinion as you and many who have the same opinion as I do.

I'm not self indulging to the point where I'm sharing my entire gameplay or walkthrough with anyone screen by screen but just what I hope are screens that people may stop for a split second and say, "hey that makes me wanna play the game because I can really feel like I'm there or wish I was" I'm not looking for praise on technical or artistic merit either. I do agree it was a bit excessive in the beginning though.
