I don't see how that will work, the online nature of souls games means there's no pause function, that's a lot of invasions overnight.

Wow... I hope we get 60fps Vita Remote Play too. Hope Vita can pull that off. I was worried PS4's hardware encoder was hard coded for 30fps but this is great news if true.

I just got my PS4 this week and I found myself almost immediately wishing there was a way to manually sort your home menu rather than everything being ordered by most recent. So that's the other thing I'm hoping for. Unless it's already in there and I just don't realise, I am surprised I've never seen anyone complaining about it.

Well the game isn't actually running during that time. But keeping the RAM powered will enable you to start exactly where you left off.
The devs would probably have some to do something against it constantly going back to the main menu because you went "offline" though.
But being in the menu already is already an improvement.

You can't sort the XMB (most recent 15) but you can sort the library itself.
I think people don't complain about it because most of the times the most recently played games are the ones you want at the start of your list.

I think someone made a thread complaining about it yesterday. May have been the day before, but it was a very recent thread.
edit: Ah it was actually about the Library, but it all tied the same things together including having the most recent apps on the left, etc.

It's probably like s3 standby. If it was like hibernate it would take longer to start up the PS4 and load the image into the ram.
It's a beta version. The whole firmware is under NDA. There is no way to know what will actually be in 2.5.
You can already do that.
Why are we assuming that? Really if any mention of it at all by Sony I'd be amazed.
I'd love to see DLNA happen, but have really low expectations of actually seeing it on PS4.

Suspend/Resume is basically the 3DS/Vita's sleep mode, right? If so then Persona 5 purchase confirmed! Best news in awhile for me since I hate playing on consoles for this very reason.

Honestly the 30fps limit is a bigger deal to me than the controls. I can adjust to controls in almost all cases. But the halved framerate is always jarring. I'd go bananas if an update made remote play 60fps.
I don't like not being able to memorise where something is in the menu. I just find it annoying because I've been swapping between quite a few different games

Once they finally come through on the "delete games with 0 trophies" front we need to start harping on the ability to delete trophy records outright... for all of those terrible games that give you a trophy just for booting up the title screen. Factor in the corresponding trophy level penalty. I don't care.Is this REAL LIFE !??!

Failing that, they should allow you to mark those trophy records as private (which I believe can be done already) and bury them at the bottom of your trophy profile (so they might as well not exist).

In 2012 I assumed suspend-to-ram would be a default feature and the real kick-ass feature would be the ability to suspend several games at once, by writing the non-OS context to the harddisk and then loading that it.
Writing and reading a 6 GB chunk of data is of course not super fast, but it would still be faster than launching GTA 5 and Dragon Age and such using the traditional way.
Alas, no manufacturer has indicated that they are pursuing this. And Sony is just now going to what I expected everyone to be at at launch.

The real question is whether or not you can finally view trophies offline on PS4.
if it's a beta and the release is expected in few weeks almost all features will be in the beta.
Do we know all of them? From the picture is sure that the main one is the suspend/resume.

For now, while it's in beta. It should be a one-time fee once it's out of beta (probably between $5 and $10). The server is free, and you can use the browser client on the PS4 for free also.
That was the in-game XMB and trophies. I remember that day.

how in the world do you not use it on your vita? i use it... my god, dozens of times a day? someone talking to me? click suspend. need to go eat? suspend. sleepy time? suspend.
I turn my vita off.... once a year? if that. firmware updates is probably the only time.
Yup, that's the megaton for me. Will likely never use suspend/resume.
So good. Current Vita RP app probably cant manage 60fps stream. New firmware will be needed to activate that.
