Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

Anyone else absolutely love Rescue?

It's now become my favorite mode especially when you have good team mates like I did last night for a run of games. Setting up your squad with various loadouts and classes can completely wreck the enemy.

We had a good mixture of one guy hanging back and picking off the other team on the roof's etc. while another 2 would roam to outside and the other 2 would scope out inside.

It was bloody intense at times but insane fun all the same.

Aahahah, top!

Actually, they seem to PTFO better than alot of people I'm meeting in-game, especially on PS4.

Is that the hostage mode?

If so, then I agree. Really nice chance of pace (shorter, sharper and tense).

I hope Visceral build on it.

Even though It sucks being in the minority here experiencing bad lag/hit detection issues, I'm still having a blast with the game. Hardline has been a nice change of pace compared to other shooters I've played recently, so I definitely see myself sticking around with this game for a while.

Yep that's the one, where you have to either untie them as the police or stop the police from freeing them as the bad guys and no respawning.

It just has that more tactical feel to it which I like much more than the run-and-gun stuff, mind you people still feel the need to do that even in a mode like this.

Finished the campaign. And naturally I'm suffering from the bug where I don't get credit for finishing all the missions on Veteran (or any other difficulty for that matter) because I went back and redid a level before finishing. I guess it's not as bad as BF4 which just wiped your progress clean whenever the hell it felt like it, but I'm still not thrilled.

it's my favorite as well. and i like how you can actually hear footsteps in this game. i don't remember a game like this with such accurate footsteps since MW2.

I've been slowly coming around to the PS4 way of recording stuff. The thing I was missing was the Capture Gallery for the quick edits and just cutting down the clips to the parts I want before trying to edit them in Share Factory. It seems like the Xbox video editing app has been trying to copy PS4 features in the latest updates, but I don't think it's quite there yet. If there's a theme for your game on PS4, then it all ends up being super convenient with an attractive enough end product.

Nothing beats Xbox, Record That. I really wish either console would let you quickly record like that and also specify the time frame.

Anyway, here are my highlights from my first week of play. Still loving this game:

No idea how Xbox does it as I haven't used one since I went from 360 to PS4...
Would like to have the option to record longer videos that 15 minutes on PS4, but so far it hasn't really been necessary to be honest.

That's some great aim there!
My favourite part was the grenade takedown of that transport chopper.
I've hated choppers ever since the BC2 chopper whore days, so taking those out with either an RPG or some more inventive way is one of the things that I love the most about BF. ;)

Ok after giving it a solid go... Hotwire is the truth! So much fun!

Only downside is how high the countdown timer for redeploy gets, as sometimes you will spawn into a car and get instantly rpg'd then have to wait a long ass time to get back in to the action. Even then I was enjoying it a lot. 64 player conquest might suck but these new modes are pretty solid.

What has everyone been spending their cash on? I wish Hardline had a test range like BF4 so I could try out the guns before committing to them with my newly earned hotwire cash.

Yeah, 15 minutes isn't that restrictive, but it's just the principle of the thing. Your system can record all the time? Great, it's my hard disk space, let me decide how much it can use.

Thanks, but in the interest of full disclosure, got to give most of the credit to XIM4.

Funny you should mention the transport chopper. I've been mostly thinking of it as a joke, and with the default guns, and later on the way too expensive M3M, I was getting pretty sure I was right. I mean, it's ok for taking down ground vehicles that aren't going to be shooting back. But I felt outmatched trying to gun down a guy with a garden variety assault rifle. But man, got into a lobby tonight with a decent pilot who gave me opportunities to shoot from a stable platform, and put down the $60k or whatever it is for the minigun, and we were just shredding people on the Blood Money servers.

Getting decent with helicopters is a point of emphasis for me in this game, since a) I never got good at them in previous Battlefields, and b) no jets = one less thing to worry about.

Thanks for all the Blood Money suggestions. Right now Blood Money and Heist are my favorites for solo play, and Hotwire is my favorite when playing with a friend.

Been playing since Friday. It's okay. Whole lot better than BF4 was at launch on PS4 (this is on PC now).

Some gripes are:
- Car handling and they sounds like a can
- I have to buy weapons twice because Cops/Robbers. Idea is neat in theory, annoying in practice.
- Game modes are so/so
- Weapons feels monotone. Maybe I've been buying the wrong ones though.

But in the end I've had my share of fun of the hours spent.

I like seeing people slowly coming to the realization that you can actually drive over pretty much any of the inland water in this map and not just the sandbars

Those guys are doing it wrong, I drive on the outside of the sandbar since it is effectively hard cover for part of your vehicle. But yeah, if they setup a roadblock on the sandbar you can always just turn inland.

In one of my first games a friend and I jumped over the side and straight into the water expecting to sink and get thrown out of the car, nope, besides the actual outside of the island the water is safe to drive on. Makes it so much easier to catch up to people only driving on the sand, I think it is ingrained in us after generations of games to assume water is generally always too deep for vehicles to go in.

When Back to Karkand first released for BF3 you could drive on the bottom of the lagoon in Wake Island.

Sadly I never played BF3, I went straight from BF2 to BF4 missing it entirely and now on Hardline. And I can't say I remember much from BF2 Wake Island to say if it was the same there.

I have two pre-order DLC codes for the Xbox One version of the game, if anyone wants them. I never bothered to use 'em.

First person to quote this can have them.

It was a glitch that was patched, but it was funny as hell to escape a chopper by taking a tank underwater and coming out the other side of the map.

Any Gaffers playing this on XB1? Please add me. Would be fun to be able to chat with people. I've played way too many games where people don't talk but feel the need to not mute their mic when listening to loud music (yes, I know I can mute but it's still annoying).

It seems sort of... wrong to me. Same with the swamp. I'd like to think they make it so the cars couldn't go as fast while in water or something.

I think the unlock track here is both good, bad and designed to be a little faster since battlefront comes out this year.

I love being able to buy what I want, but in another week or so I'll have just about everything unlocked save the specific weapons for each class like the double barrel. So I'm expecting the expansions to come fast with this one

I'm just waiting until they fix the shield and camera coins before even attempting that maddening ritual. For now I have pretty much all the gear/guns I want, so I'm just running around enjoying shooting people.

The camera coin is really easy to do it in tdm or blood money.

Returning it today. Once I completed the campaign and tried one MP match, I'd had enough. It's not worth anywhere close to the $70 + tax I paid for it.

Whish I had gone physical with this one.
Maybe GameStop will give me some money for the external HD I installed it on.

SP turned from interesting to terrible after
the mall scene
and I think I have seen everything there is to see in MP after only 20h.

Nice OT!

Nothing special in the campaign and its getting boring with all the stealth
MP is good, addicted to Heist & Blood Money!

Am I the only one where none of the little palm trees, neither in SP nor in MP, have stems? PS4 btw.

Also, what the hell happens before you "crack the vault" on Hollywood Heights? There's some weird symbols, then nothing happens, and suddenly you have acces to the bags.

Out of curiosity, where are you able to return opened software? Maybe I'm too old school - I thought most places won't accept open games for a return.

Saw this on the BFH reddit: Hardline tips & tricks

Some useful bits of info in there concerning the gadgets. Didn't know you could sabotage the pick-ups or that the cameras persisted even if you change classes.

Nice video!

Question about Sabotage. I play Mechanic on Hotwire almost exclusively, but haven't really been able to get many kills with Sabotage. I put them on pretty much anything (including weapon pickups) but rarely see anyone die from it. Vehicles too.

- If I die, to the Sabotages I had planted disappear?
- Often I sabotage a vehicle but my own team drives it - especially if the squad spawns on me. So doesn't seem like a good plan most of the time.

I think my main question is how persistent are the charges I have planted?

Sabotages do not disappear when you die.

They are most useful in heist and using them on doors.

They stay after you die. If your team drives off with them they're still there. I do believe enemy damage to them will blow the car, but if that doesn't happen and the enemy gains access to the vehicle somehow it'll blow once they start rolling.

I think the best advice is to put your sabotage on vehicles with a quick turnover or on battledrops that are well-known.

On dustbowl good targets are the tanker truck since you can hide in the house and the truck has the life expectancy of a mayfly. Another good target is the C van at the barn with the LMG battledrop.
On downtown the car at the south end of the map with the RPG battledrop right there is a great spot.
The tanker truck is the best vehicle for it on every map.

Oh, and one other thing you can do is make sure you're in a private squad all by yourself. Is annoying to place the charge only to have a squadmate spawn on you and then drive off. :)

Thanks, that's helpful info. Is there a max number of active sabotages you can have? Like if I place two, then die, and place a couple more...would they all be active?

You know.. I like this game so far, but I just want to play ONE map and with more tickets preferably. Why are there no custom servers on PS4? I loved playing 2-400%/single map servers on BF4, but I traded that game in to get Hardline. I don't regret it just yet, but it's kind of a bummer. Some maps are clearly better than others.
