Waifu = love/like/attracted to fictional character?
I never took this seriously and just thought it was a joke we all shared together. I mean I have named quiet a few characters my Waifus but there isn't a single one of them I'm attracted to other than that I dig their design. I mean I changed my Avatar from a character I really love(still not sexual or anything), Faust, since I thought he was one of the best characters to ever grace a game.
I changed my Avatar now to the Doll in Bloodborne(waifu avatar**?) because I really like it's design. even though the Art booklet have her looking like a member of the long arm tribe(One Piece) but that's just that.
Or for example in Persona, my waifu* there was and will always be Kanji since I think he is the best character in that particular game. Heck he isn't far from Faust in my book. His growth and realisation of self is truly great, even though there are black marks on his way there.
Moe = cute, adorable fictional characters.
Like one of the most "moe" thing ever in my book has always been the slime from the Dragon Quest game. I really found that particular "monster" adorable.
As for the most "moe" game I can remember I have tried in recent memory must have been Awatama. The art to that game is really cute even with the limited DS horsepower the sprites still looked cute.

ok....so I apparently don't know what Waifu or Moe is then. I have been using them as umbrella terms for characters I like and cute things....Tbh I think that's enough for me. There is no desire on my part to delve deeper into it.

Op, play P2. Innocent Sin especially Eternal Punishment. Here we're talking great characters overall.

I was posting in the thread where (I think) HolyBaikal got permabanned, I think about Ronda Rousey fighting Floyd Mayweather. Kept insisting that women and men could compete in the same sports and that the athletic differences were just due to sexism, regardless of all evidence to the contrary.

But OP, I don't think there's anything wrong with thinking "waifu" culture is weird or off-putting. No one is born as a person who does that, it's not a gender, sexuality, race, etc. I don't think there's anything positive about the people who do it, it's pretty much demeaning towards women (animated women, yes, but still...) by showing how they're basically commodities to be fought over, and it just dilutes most threads into complete nonsense. Don't feel guilty finding that off putting.

I just finished reading through your whole post, (except the P3 spoilers part. Going through the game for the first time myself.), and it put a big smile on my face. I never really conversed with her, but reading her posts, I always thought she was incredibly earnest. I'm happy that you were able to open yourself up to something you never thought you would and ended up loving it because of her.

At first I was thinking about linking a witty gif about being horribly confused. I decided to skim over it, and post something rather arbitrary and unimportant. Then I got intrigued and decide to read the whole damn thing word for word UNTIL I got to the Persona part, which is a series I never played. Great for those who like it but not my taste in game.
So I decided to, while Smash Bros was idling in the background, to go to My Music and listen to Magicant / Eight Melodies. Relevant? Not at all. But who cares.
Anyway, as you can expect from the reactions of this thread that cower in fear of large text walls, I'm surprised and glad that someone decided to open up quite this much on a public forum. While I think getting into contact with this "Holy" person which I have never meet in private would be better*, I think we can all learn to appreciate others. Bravo, OP. Bravo. I still don't quite understand the draw of "waifu's" myself, I find the concept interesting and would like to learn more about it, even if again, it's not really my thing.
Was never the biggest anime watcher/player, though.
Anyway, I'm sure this Holy person would greatly appreciate this outpouring.

You can find plenty of "sincere" forums out there. Most people are just not comfortable with the stuff they are "sincere" about.

Plenty of people are already sincere without doing what Holy did. While Holy might've also been sincere, her posting and ignoring facts and other opinions about life, science, etc. was also I don't know stubborn? naive? delusional? I'm not sure what to call it but it's not something to want or replicate.
