Xenoblade Chronicles X English Direct April 24th

A) I hope it comes out as early as August but am expecting a fall release
(June seems way too soon and Nintendo rarely seems to release games in July)

B) Please do not announce it has been delayed.

C) I hope the English voices are good

It really does seem like this might be coming sooner rather than later in the year.

So Nintendo's remaining Wii U releases for 2015 could look something like this:

April: MK8 DLC
May Splatoon
June: Yoshi
July: Xenoblade X?
August: Xenoblade X?
September: Mario Maker
October: Smash DLC?
November: Star Fox?
December: Unannounced E3 game?

Looks like a great line-up to me, even without Zelda.

YEEEEESSSS!!!!! Xenoblade X takes the cake for number of unannounced videos/announcements, coupled with every new one making me want the game more. It's just insane.

Fixed it for you ;-)

Would seem really weird to just show everything from the Japanese directs, but with English voices. But I also wouldn't put it past them, would be interesting to see this appear at a third e3

Devil's Third has no release date news yet, but I'd expect it in August or September. Hopefully, Nintendo can also get Splatoon DLC out by December. Yoshi's coming out for fall in North America, but June for Europe

Most likely the same videos that Japan got, but in English.

Also, don't expect any release date before E3. Especially since this seems to be a NA-only thing. Ready to eat crow doll if I'm wrong ;)

Weeping. I hope it's not the same as the Japanese directs.

Even if that's true, it's still likely we'll see something new from the treehouse demo (hopefully not the same section shown at E3, but even so the demo is the thing I'm looking forward to more than the direct).

It would be quite un-Nintendo to do that. Showing it in a usual Nintendo Direct is fine, but having a game Direct for what you suppose to be the highlight of the E3, it's like showing half of a movie before showing the trailer. There's no logic in it.

Edit: there will be also a Treehouse segment after the Direct.

Historically, no, but in the past few years Nintendo has been putting less and less stock in E3 and likes to preview games on their own terms (where the media is more controlled and more directly distributed to fans). I'm also not so sure they would consider it the highlight of their E3 lineup (even if we do).

How do you know it's supposed to be the highlight of E3?

I mean none of us have any clue as to what NOA is up to.

I think the direct tomorrow will tell you if the game will be the "highlight" of E3.

And I agree with your earlier point that the direct tomorrow does point to a midsummer release.

I don't know, the poster I was answering to was assuming that. Following this announcement today I doubt Xenoblade X will be a highlight at E3. It will be there, but not have an important role. Nintendo has this habit of getting rid of things to announce before E3 to focus on what they think is important there.

Considering how massive this game is and how little of it can be shown in one Direct, and how it has become the big system seller for this year after Zelda U's delay, I don't think you can make assume that things should be the same as it was with Bayonetta for example. We've had four Japanese Directs for this game and they've all been very diverse.

And they won't just show a trailer or whatever at E3 since Treehouse will do their streams, too, so I don't think that logic holds.

It's just anticlimactic. It's like you would announce a surprise. You don't show your big hand before betting on it.

They barely fit the game on the disc.

But they could release the japanese voice track as DLC I guess
lol

I'm ok with that.

Isn't Xenoblade X's file size said to be 22.7 GB ?

And the max size of a Wii U disc is 25GB, so Dual Audio is a no-go unless they make it a download.

EDIT: Either they don't care or they must thing they have plenty for E3 if they want to do this now.

There was never any surprise about this. It's a game that has been at E3 2013 Direct and at E3 2014 Direct and the Treehouse stream. Everybody and their mother knew that it was coming.

Nice. Haven't kept up with the Japanese directs, so this will be all new stuff for me regardless. Hoping for a summer release in North America.

Oh, come on. It was an analogy. If this is supposed to be "the highlight of E3", you don't show an extensive look at it just one month and a half before.

I really can't imagine this being a September release because of Mario Maker, and I imagine Nintendo won't want to deal with having to have two super high-profile Wii U games to promote in the same month. I don't know if that necessarily points to summer release, but I just can't see September as a possibility.

I'm glad I've avoided all the Japanese directs/news for this game. I'll be able to react to this like I would any other direct.

Best we'll get in turns of a release date will be a month. That month will probably be November.

And October will most probably be Fatal Frame because of the Halloween.

Is Mario Maker considered high profile? I figured it was just something to goof around with.
