With them aiming for console release in 2016 they can't really drag their feet with Early Acess. Since you can't really get away with that on consoles.

With what we know of the current team and their plans for console versions next year. This might actually be something that happens and doesn't get stuck in EA hell like Stomping Lands.
The upcoming Alpha/Beta with Early Acess should really cement just where they are.

The trailer reminded me of a bit of The Forest. The trailer of The Forest looked a lot better than the game actually turned out to be. Hope this isn`t the case with this game too.
