I bought it on day one for full price and have NO REGRETS!

I actually enjoyed the game, the story is quite good, it's graphically beautiful and it was honestly nice to run through a handheld story experience after all the open world/open ended games I had been/am still playing.

I hope they make a sequel.

Well, there's quite a few people that haven't played the game, that will tell you you're wrong.

I bought the game at full price, wanted to support it cause I like the premise too much

Kinda regret it. Most disappointed I ever been in a game.

Game is worth 20 bucks for sure. Those saying otherwise are galloping around on a bullshit horses.

I don't know, $20 doesn't buy much. They'd have to offer a minimum of $60, so I could at least buy a game if I'm going to have to suffer through The Order.

I'd jump on it. I've got a slew of $20 games I was way more disappointed in. The visuals and guns are very cool. I remembered liking how stylish the whole thing was.

I remember people trying to convince themselves, and even worse, others, that the Order is a good game. Disgusting.

I mean, what is disgusting about someone thinking it's a good game? I hated it, but im fine with people liking it. Now, it would be different if it was someone trying to convince others in debates.

The Order is a worse movie than it is a game. It is an absolute failure.

Lol my own thoughts. The narrative is dreadful. It's a slog to get through with no resolution. It's not really IMO worth sitting through even as a "movie" type experience. I guess it's nice to look at how wow the graphics are though.

agree completely... it had some problems.. sure, but was a solid game with absolute greatness in some parts.

didn't regret my 65€ purchase.

I liked that, made it feel like a proper game, having a few areas you had to learn to get just right. Rather than hiding for 30 seconds in a bush until the AI conveniently forgets you. It's not as though they're all that difficult.

Even if it's playing through to get a sense of what was done well and what could be improved, it's a technical marvel that really makes clear how far visual tech has come. I can't think of many people who wouldn't get $16-20 worth of enjoyment out of this game.

I see it more as a game that shows how many sacrifices a game has to make in order to big-up visuals and at the end it's not worth it because the world doesn't feel alive, sterile even and characters come off like expressionless mannequins.

Oh wow I could not disagree anymore. Tlou and uc were visual powerhouses. The problem with the order is the lack of understanding of what makes these cinematic games fun. I could delve deeper into explaining where they missed the boat, which believe me they missed by ALOT. It was a completely misguided game that had it's priorities all mixed up. Worst game I've played so far this gen.

I enjoyed it a lot, the campaign the first time will be around 6-8 hours at least, solid shooting mechanics, good art and from a graphics perspective is a great ride. If you like the art/setting its a steal for that price.

I'm basically in agreement with you; those design and narrative shortcomings seemed like the price of a project where visuals are themselves the end goal of the design document. I think the Order is a bad game, but it's a case where I didn't get the sense it was a lack of talent that caused it. It was a myopic design approach. I think those shortcomings should be called out (and I cringe when I see the more deluded among us insist it's a "great" TPS experience), but seeing the full-on production with this approach is interesting when the price is right. Even more so when people can come into it with expectations in check.

It's up there for me since I paid full price as well. I swear I got more out of Splatoon for myself and I don't even play the multiplayer. The Order just never builds upon itself in it's mechanics and level design, what you play in the first level is basically the same throughout the rest of the game, except every once in awhile you get a different gun for a few seconds. Honestly if I had paid 15-20$ for the game I would have been fine, but even then the game is just packed with faults let alone it's short amount of content.

I think that those on the edge though and wanting to check the game out, 20$ is definitely a good entry point if you have interest in the game. Plus the game looks pretty good (though I could have done with alot less post processing, but hey)

Though the most disappointed I've ever been in a game was Paper Mario Sticker Star, it just shits all over everything I loved about Paper Mario to the point where I didn't even sell the game back, I just gave it away to the first person who wanted it at a garage sale lol.

How? It's about learning a route and getting the right timing, "perfectly gamey" and no QTEs.

Instant fail stealth segments in any game ever is bull shit. It take all freedom away from the player. Something The Order does non stop, which would be one of the reasons the game is a failure in general

None of the stealth sections were difficult though. You could go through them without failing really easily. Especially the
crossbow
section, where all you had to do was take enemies out from a distance and watch where their lanterns were shining to avoid their line of sight. I never once had any issues with the insta fail stealth missions.

For $20, this is a great deal. Game rocks. Know what you're going into (cinematic, heavily scripted TPS), but it's great for what it is. I don't regret paying $60 for it.

Arkham Knight is simultaneously a better "cinematic experience" and a better game than The Order.

I was seriously thinking about spending the money, but then this popped up. This shit is a dealbreaker. Stealth is unenjoyable enough for me, but insta-fail stealth guarantees that I'll never play it. I've been frustrated enough by games in the past that have this lame shit.

I liked it. I'm not tricking myself, and I don't care if others play it. It's a fun shooter with great graphics, brought down by boring boss encounters and unskippable cutscenes. It didn't kick your dog.

Keep it down. People don't like things defended that they either A. didn't play or B. didn't enjoy. For me, The Order was an experience that was quite enjoyable and I got what I expected out of it.

Well, there's quite a few people that haven't played the game, that will tell you you're wrong.

And quite a few of us who did play it that will say the same thing. This game at any price was a horrible game imo. Fortunately for me I Redbox rented it, so I only wasted 2.50.

Well if you take the garden section for instance, there's an open level with different routes and a few guards scattered around that you have to take out. There's no dotted line on the floor telling you where to go. You have to find your own route through the level and take out the guards. How is that in any way taking freedom from the player?

Sure there's a fail state which makes you try again, but that's a pretty standard element to gaming in general. It feels more like people don't like these kind of traditional game type moments in cinematic games, you don't want to fail as you want to carry on with the story, and this gets in the way of that.

Still too expensive. I will wait for it to be on PS+ (definitely this is coming to PS+ once we start to get retail games on PS4 that aren't 7th gen ports or a paid demo) also I think the game is still full price on PSN.

Wait a minute.

Am I the only one who kind of scales the purchase of games with cost VS value?

If a title is more interesting to me then I am willing to pay more. I always use both my hands and tip the scales on a purchase by gauging the merits of a game vs cost.

If a game like Rocket League (crack) comes along at 20 then I am likely to get a 4 pack. I'm all on. If a 60 dollar game like The Odor®™ cones along then I see it as a game that is worth it for 20.

Hyperbole is for broad stroke non thinkers. I use my mind to make rational buys.

I use that metaphor in life as well.

You're welcome.

I feel like people should make this clearer in conversation. My work schedule makes time more important than most dollar costs. If your work schedule is creeping up on 60 hours a week, you need to be more discerning.

I got grudge sucked!
The technical showpiece is worth $20. I was going to spend $60 on it before it came out so good thing I waited.
