PC: Ori and the Blind Forest 75%off - 4.99$ @Steam (possible price mistake)

This definitely isn't intentional, guys. So I'm happy for everyone who got Ori at that price... but goddamn, I hope we'll be getting paid for this mess-up :( :( :(

Do you guys have any sweet gear we may be able to buy to make up for it? I am down to buy some t-shirts with the art you guys have made for this game.

Was planning to buy this a lot later when I had time, but $5 is a lot cheaper and sooner than I was going to pay. Whelp bought and downloading now.

Bought for £3.74, and it is queued for download.

I'm generally not buying games at the moment as my backlog is huge and I haven't got much time to game (I spent precisely £0 in the Steam sale), but this is an amazing deal on a game I really want.

I'd hope Steam would compensate for lost earnings, but then they'll likely not want to give the additional dollars for 100% of purchases as they'll argue that not all of us would've bought it at the correct price.

I feel like Steam should be required to cover the cost.

I bought it. It seemed too good to pass up even if it was an error on the publishers side. If it was Valves fault then they need to make it whole with the developer. I mean really the consumer shouldn't be punished and neither should the developer.

Either way as someone who wanted to play the game but wasn't ready to jump in for a while it got me to pull the wallet out.

That's not to say I wouldn't have bought it later at a higher price. I was actually just waiting for more time to be able to at it, and just sometimes you can't say no especially if you have the money available at the moment.

How is this not outselling ARK?

Note: Hope Valve fixes this
wonderful
error, or compensates the developer. This may end up being good for the developer, if properly compensated. I hope so.

Could you come back to this thread and post any news of Valve compensation. I'm curious to see how they handle this.

I'm also curious who eats the loss when Valve screws up on a listing (assuming that is what occurred).

Especially when they have allowed it to go on for so long. Are they all off today? What the fuck is going on over there?

This is Valve we're talking about. They've never been prompt about anything.

I picked up Ori at this price (sorry :<), but I also remember there being a pricing error on Don't Starve and Tropico 4 + all DLC (it was like 80$ of content for like 89 cents), and I'm kiiinda curious what happens when all's said and done. Cause no one's exactly contacted me to be like "yea we fucked up, give that back", which in this increasingly digital world would almost be expected.

A general rule of thumb is not to punish the purchaser for buying the game legitmately for a mistake that's on the seller's hands. I am hoping Valve makes up financial repercussion, but I don't know how it all works either.

They absolutely should. At the same time Valve are in a position of power where I wouldn't be surprised if they argued that the developers only gained something, so that they don't feel the need to compensate them... After all, which developer would want to go against Valve?

This is ridiculous as a concept. There would be outrage and lack of trust in Valve and their store from developers if they couldn't reimburse a developer for a costly mistake if that is completely their own fault. Pretty sure that could be challenged legally if someone was so inclined

Bought. I'm a huge Metroid-vania fan but I have a PS4 instead of an XBONE so PC is my only chance to play it. The thing is my PC suuuuucks but I wanna give it a try anyway on the small chance that it will be playable. If not thank god for Steam's new refund policy.

Wow.

Well, I bought two copies, so they got almost what the proper special price would have been out of me. I'll just give the extra to someone I want to make happy. This may work out well for them, who knows.

Was able to get this a couple of minutes before they fixed it, thank you so much OP, I will enjoy it immensely with my 5 year old.

MS won't be happy.

I wasn't planning on buying this really, I was interested as I heard good things but not sold as I tend to prefer that type of game on Vita, but the graphics look good, nothing was announced and it might not be as tight anyway so why not.
In a year from now at the same price, I might not have bought it with the hype/memories of it settling down.

I wonder if they'll put it up for the correct sale price.
