Hey guys, new to infinity.

I have the crystal Lightning McQueen for 1.0 but I don't have the 1.0 starter pack.

Now I'm jumping into the 2.0 Vita pack, if I use him and level him up and I get the 1.0 starter park somewhere down the line will I be able to bring him back to 1.0 with all the levels I earned from 2.0?

tl;dr ~ What happens to figures when going back from 2.0 to 1.0?

I don't think you can't take content from 2.0 back to 1.0.

I've been fiddling with the Vita version. Not bad for a down port like that. Framerate can be spotty - particularly in the Toy Box - but I'm surprised they crammed the whole experience into a Vita cart.

How about levels earned?

I don't think any of the characters or discs from 2.0 work at all with 1.0 in any way. They're only forward compatible from what I understand. They keep their levels in what they're compatible with.

Yeah, I'm earning levels in 2.0 with Lightning McQueen, when I bring it back to 1.0, does it carry backwards the levels?

Does anyone have the Vita version 2.0 as well as on another platform? I put some levels on one of my figures on Vita but when I took it back to my PS4 version, the levels were gone. After some research I reset the figure on the PS4 version, put it back on the Vita version base in-game and then when I went back PS4, I had to share ownership again. After all that, the levels gained on Vita showed on PS4.

Is this normal when switching a figure between platforms? I got the solution from people taking their 1.0 figure to 2.0 and then back to 1.0 but I wouldn't think you'd have to jump through hoops like that going from 2.0 to another 2.0. Anyone had similar issues?

I just ordered a copy for $20 for PS4, don't know much about DI but I did buy the Frozen toys last year just because.

So is this like Skylanders where I don't have to buy extra toys but will probably end up buying some? I'm not a huge fan of the style and I'm not sure which characters are worth picking up that I like.

Im just now thinking about jumping in.

Is there a reason not to buy used figures? I have read something about digital codes that come with them? What do they do?

Can the actual Disney characters only be used in the toy box, not the main game?

Strongly considering vita version. Any thoughts on this?

Used figures may come leveled up but you can reset them from the main game menu. Codes are single use but are only used in the mobile/PC version.

I know some Disney characters can be used in certain playsets. Everything before the upcoming 3.0 is like that though. There's lots of restrictions on characters crossing over but every figure works in the Toy Box.

Only get the Vita version if you have a high tolerance for bad performance. It can run fine under certain circumstances but mostly it runs sub 30fps.

Thank you, I appreciate the info. You have to have the portal tethered to the vita the whole time right? That seems annoying.

I've recently got into buying figures and whatnot, and saw that the PS4 version of this (the Marvel play set starter pack) was on sale at Walmart.com for $29.99, so I went to the store and bought it. I figured, even if I don't love the game, I still get three cool figures for a decent price.

I have only played about an hour so far, but...I cannot believe how bad this is. Like, honestly, it feels like the jankiest, ugliest shovelware. It looks like a PS2 game upres'd to 1080p on PS4 but still manages to have bad image quality. Animations are low quality, graphics are atrocious, sound effects are quiet and lack even the slightest bit of oomph, the driving controls from the tiny bit I played feel ultra simplistic and janky.

I am honestly kind of blown away by how bad the game is thus far. I only played a little bit of Skylanders Swap Force on PS4 but at least the graphics were great, presentation was high quality, and gameplay felt solid. This experience was nothing like that at all.

The figures look great and I'm not overly angry that I bought it or anything, but I'm definitely really disappointed.

I like the PC version. As cool as the figures are, I don't need them cluttering up my house, and the online purchases are cheaper.

Yeah, they've come out and admit that the playsets in 2.0 were not great. Their focus on 2.0 was on improving the toybox and that was the wrong move. For Star Wars they've re-focused their efforts on crafting a great co-op experience in the playsets, but its still a shame that the Marvel characters got stuck with bland, boring, and repetitive playset missions.

The good news is that what they've shown of the Star Wars playsets looks night and day better than the crap we got with 2.0. So much so, that i'm really looking forward to playing 3.0 with my GF.

I thought I'd post it in this thread as I've seen a lot of complaints about this in 2.0. It's still not perfect but along with all the Star Wars figures being playable in any Star Wars play set, any 2.0 Marvel figure will be playable in the 3.0 Marvel set. It's something at least.

Here's a display from Comic-Con. Apparently the missing slots indicate unannounced characters:

I'm sad that there's only four Marvel spots. I'm guessing Ant-Man, Wasp, and the twins along with a depressing lack of Captain Marvel.

I'm really happy to see so many Disney spots. I want them to be front and center again now that Marvel and Star Wars are in.

Me too :D! I was interested in the brand the moment it was announced due to my hope of Classic Disney making an appearance. Was disapointed that was largely ignored for 1.0 and 2.0, so its great to see so many Disney characters come back into the line up :).

I hope this means that we get more then just Inside Out for Disney playsets....Gravity Falls and Ducktails playsets anyone :D?

I'm okay with them scaling back the Marvel figures after I get the one I want. Screw Quicksilver.

Those are a lot of Disney spots for sure. That's got to be another 30%.

DuckTales would be fantastic. I hope that happens, especially now that the reboot is happening.

I fear that a majority of the characters will be the modern and current stuff. Hoping to see some classics as well.

I hope this means they have a number of Disney Play-Sets in the works as if we are taking 1.0 into consideration, that got a lot of playsets.
-Pirates
-Cars
-Incredibles
-Monsters University
-Lone Ranger
-Toy Story

And 2.0 got only three.
-Avengers
-Spider-Man
-Gardians of the Galaxy

So with 3.0, we have the following confirmed:
-Ep. VII
-Twilight of the Republic (Prequel/Clone Wars)
-Rise of the Empire (Ep. IV, V, VI)
-Rebels
-Age of Ultron
-Inside Out

So, with that information and the news that their will be 17 Disney figures, that means their must be at least 2 more Disney play-sets for the game, giving the game a total of 8 of them. My guesses for the playsets could be the following.
-Cinderella to tie into the live-action film
-Frozen II to tie into the upcoming sequel
-Gravity Falls to tie into the show and 3DS game
-Ducktails to tie into the games, upcoming show and for the older Disney fans
-Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers for the same reasoning for Ducktails
-Darkwing Duck for....it would be amazing XD!
-Finding Dory to tie into the upcoming film
-Scarlet and the Forces of Evil to tie into the show currently on Disney XD
-Wander over Yander for the same reasons

What's the pattern again for Infinity reveals? When can we expect to find out about these new characters? Do they reveal all characters before the game comes out or do they also have reveals post-launch? I know they have releases throughout the year, but I'm referring to announcements.

They save some reveals for after the game launches. Wouldn't be surprised if they try to stretch 3.0 into an all year thing instead of letting it putter out by February/March with the amount of slots left.

So, it could work with something like this? I will be using the guesses I made in a prior post.
-December: Star Wars Ep. VII playset and figures announced
-January: New Toy Story Figures announced, final wave of SW figures announced
-Febuary: New Playset announced and released; themed around Gravity Falls (Dipper and Mable pack-ins with Grunkle Stan being sold separately) or Ducktails (Scrooge and Launch Pad pack-ins, Darkwing Duck is sold separately)
-March: Classic figures announced (Goofy, Pete, Chip and Dale)
-April: Ant-Man playset announced and released alongside final wave of Marvel figures (Ant-Man and Wasp being pack-ins, Quick-Silver and Scarlet Witch being sold separately)
-May: Cinderella and Star announced (to fit with the former's movie and the latter's Disney XD show)
-June: Goliath announced and news of KH's characters inclusion into the franchise (Sora and Riku being pack-ins)
-July: Announce 4.0 with a greater focus on Disney with new playsets based on Lion King, Jungle Book, and many other iconic Disney films. Also announce playsets for Star Wars (New content themed around Rebels), Marvel (Captain Marvel's film, the next Avengers film, Hulk, ect), and a playset focused on Kingdom Hearts's (with Sora, Riku, King Mickey and Kairi being included)
-August: Free-update to 3.0 to include the Marvel Playsets from 2.0 and porting over the Cars playset from 1.0 (considering the racing modes Sumo Digital is working on for 3.0).

In the IGN video John V says he's been in very recent meetings on when to exactly announce more stuff specifically Marvel.

I think they are trying to let Star Wars shine on its own.

As I was reading another response to my comment, I've started thinking the same thing. I'm starting to wonder if the Marvel set will even be out in 2015. I wouldn't be surprised if they push Start Wars for next month and capitalize on the ongoing Force Awakens hype, do some Disney figures for the holiday season and then come back to Star Wars for the Force Awakens set right before Christmas.

This seems like the smart thing to do for long term health of 3.0 and I'd certainly enjoy more substantial waves with better pacing but they've shot their load so early on the last two entries to get most if their stuff out by Christmas that I won't be surprised if it happens again.

Has their been any updates on power discs recently? Seems like an odd thing to minimize at this point.

Yeah, as much as I don't want to wait for the new Marvel content, I think it's far smarter to spread it out a bit more. Being a kids and family game means they do need a strong holiday presence but saving some decent content for slower times would be good too.

As for power discs, I think I've only seen the two Star Wars and the one Tomorrowland set. I'm so glad their getting rid of the blind-bags.

Yeah I've seen those two and I think a couple of them from the original trilogy. Weird that only two packs are at launch.

Getting rid of the blind bags is a good thing but I wonder if that means we'll get less of the obscure/weird stuff.

It would be better if they got rid of power discs all together and just put the items and themes in the game. At the very least, make it dlc so I don't have to swap them. It's really dumb that I make a new toy box and the game doesn't remember terrains and skies I used in a previous toy box.

It's probably going to be a trade off - blind-bags for variety. I'm okay with where they're going.

Well yeah, that would be the best for us as consumers. Too bad they want to sell toys to kids.

Does anybody have any experience playing 2.0 on both the Xbox One and PS4? I bought the PS4 Collector's Edition of 2.0, but I'm considering switching to Xbox One for 3.0 because my 5 year old's hands don't fit a regular PS4 controller well, and I bought her a mini 3rd party Xbox One controller that seems to fit a bit better.

I shouldn't have any problems switching from one platform to another in going from 2.0 to 3.0, right? I mean, I know all the figures and stuff are compatible, and as far as I know game saves and that kind of stuff won't carry over to 3.0. Is there anything I'm missing about moving from PS4 to Xbox One? Should be a seamless transition, right?
