Journey (PS4) |OT| Greatest Hits

My PS+ subscription ended a few weeks ago and I don't plan on renewing it anytime soon, so I hope that I can still experience the online component of the game without having to pay. It honestly feels a bit pointless playing Journey if you don't encounter any other players during your playthrough.

How do you tell? I finished the game and it told me I had encountered 4 other players. I don't remember seeing any.

I doubt it.

You need Rocket League though :)

2 questions. What time does this unlock tonight? Is it midnight eastern time? Is there a trophy list somewhere?

This is apparently unlocking with the normal store update tomorrow, so no overnight release.

I haven't seen a trophy list yet, but the trend has been that the lists are identical between the PS3 release and the PS4 port.

That you encountered another player. I got to the end of the game and it said I had encountered 4 players I believe. I don't actually remember encountering any other characters though.

Well you just run into them on a random basis. It's then up to you and/or the other person if you decide to stick together or not for the remainder of the game. If you and the other player drift apart far enough then you won't ever see him/her again. If you had 4 names during the end credits yet you didn't actually see anyone during your time spent playing the game then that's really weird.

Can't wait to play this again tomorrow. What a beautiful game. I'll tell you a quick story about my experience that really moved me...

I was alone for the first sequence and stumbled upon a player who seemed to know what he was doing. I followed him through the entire journey and we helped each other out throughout the playthrough. And right at the very end, just before... You know.... The guy/girl drew a heart in the sand in front of me and then leapt off into the distance. Made me well up big time. Such an amazing experience to have with a complete stranger. To see such kindness in a world of online trolling and such lol.

Is there any reason to replay it? Even if this is an incredible game, $12 for an hour is a lot.
there's a few secrets/collectables to be found

game is well worth replaying in my opinion too. not just to find everything, but also because different playthroughs bring different experiences

I probably missed it. I wasn't too enamored of the game, so I wasn't paying a lot of attention.

One of my favourite games of all time.

I'll never forget
approaching the top of the mountain, my character pushing through the blizzard, slowing to a crawl and finally falling into the snow. I went into the game blind, and it wasnt until that exact moment that I realised the whole game was a metaphor for life. From the birth and learning process at the beginning, to the golden years, the relationships made and lost, and finally old age... It really hit me fucking hard.

I honestly dont think any other game has even come close to moving me emotionally like Journey did, it is a masterpiece.

Cant wait to play it again!

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
I've never played this and am REALLY looking forward to tomorrow.

I absolutely adore Flower and heard this is a similar experience.

FINALLY!

I've owned the PS3 version since it was released, but never got around to putting time to it. Held out ever since I heard there were PS4 rumors.

1080p60fps on my beautiful TV... awww yiss.

First timers, temper your expectations. Don't let the hyper hype get to you, play it as you would any other game.

As much as I love Journey, listen to him/her.

The thing I love about it most is the music. For me, the game itself is more of an interactive journey through the music.

That music near the end when your making that flight/climb through the ribbon things is incredible

I never played Journey the first time round, so I might dip and buy this tomorrow. It would make a great first video series for my Youtube channel.

So very excited to play this again. Probably my single favorite gaming experience was the first time I played through this game in one sitting.

I only played the game once on launch day so its nice to have an excuse to go back.

I'll need to sit down with my Journey art book beforehand and finish that for some perspective on the second play through.

Also nice to be reminded of the original PS3 OT. That was amazing.

I only had one run and it was perfect. Met perfect companions though. Not sure if I'm ever going to do it a second time and maybe "tint" my perfect run.

It's not going to be for everyone but it was a very nice experience.
Only advise: explore, do it in one sitting (max 3 hours, probably less) and be online!

Never played, and then figured I might as well wait for the PS4 port.

Excited to give this a go! That PS+ discount is nice, and I just set my theme to Journey (static).

My PS4 is ready
