Mafia 3 Reveal next week

You crazy bugger.

I did not care enough to go after all those posters. How many were there, 200?

You have no fucking idea. There was one on the roof of a small building, but the only way on was to ramp off of the freeway and crash into it's chimney. It was very precise, and missing meant driving all the way back around onto the freeway again.

True horror.

I was pleasantly surprised by Mafia 2, enjoyed it more then I thought I would.

On a side note - I wonder if the "collectables" will make the jump to next-gen? Methinks they're going to be tweaked a little bit.

1970's sounds perfect. I was worried they might end up setting it in modern times.

I don't look forward to many games but this is definitely one to care about.

Yes! Anybody else got a fucking problem paying for the fucking barber?! Loved Mafia II and of course, the original Mafia. Better have some melee weapons this time around and more things to do in the city. As much as I loved cruising around the city to the amazing radio selection in II, I'd like some more activities.

Looks to be set in the 60s-70s, which i'm cool with. Also, potentially a lady protag? Interesting, hopefully the world will be more fully fleshed out and interesting to drive around in, as opposed to merely a mechanism through which to get from mission A to B.

You may well be right, but I wonder how that would even work in a game about the Mafia.

The thumbnail looks like it's going to have a 4 player coop and customization. The characters remind me Saint's Row.

My speculation based on the reveal image.
  1. The story focuses on 4 characters.
  2. Only one of those characters gets made.
  3. The rest are his posse, including a sassy broad.
Do we have any muscle car aficionados who could identify the models?

I'm hoping, 3 cars front and center = 3 protagonists. More games need to use GTAVs multiple protagonist system.

No thanks. I want Mafia to be about one guy and to focus totally on his life, story and development.

I know people love the GTA V system, but I personally think that they didn't develop each of the characters personal story as much as they should.

That could be quite a neat set-up actually, especially if it has you switching between characters during missions and what not. I quite enjoyed that in GTA V.

Didn't Hangar 13 say in the past that their new game would be something along the lines as "each players story is unique" or something like that? Perhaps you use a character creator.

oh yeah I really hope they do GTAV's character switchting, including a female, that would be fantastic. I still can't believe rockstar didnt have a woman.

Damn so many great news this year!

This gen is already surpassing the previous gen (unless all of the announcements will suck, unlikely though), it's been a slow start but it's starting to shape up amazingly.

THIS I want a remake of.

The first Mafia has some of the best storytelling and voice acting I've ever seen in the medium.

Mafia 2 was....good but it didn't live up to the standards of the first game.

Cautious optimistic about 3...

Still don't know why they haven't made a remake of Mafia 1. Just make better graphics and physics and I'll buy 10 copies of the game

Miami/South Florida? A story with some Cuban revolution fallout perhaps? Assuming the story actually starts in or has background set in the 50s or early 60s.

Hope driving/exploring is more interesting, that lead me to finishing the main story and never coming back to the second game.

Hope the writing is sharper this time around, 2 was a letdown. Also wasn't a game where I'd continually return to fun setpieces like the original.
