Yea that always grinds my gears when I'm replaying a game.Unskippable cutscenes was a bad idea. It's definitely going to hurt review scores.

doubtful. reviewers would hopefully approach the game the same way they do telltale game reviews. i can't imagine they'd expect the QTE cut-scenes in those to be skipable. it's the entire point of the game. lol

Are they cut scenes or all in game?

LOL at people complaining about not being able to skip cut-scenes. So you basically want to skip like 80% of the game? In any other game it would be unforgivable, but with this game it makes perfect sense.

Man, the embargo hasn't even lifted yet and we've already got the "ignore what the reviewer said" crowd out. It's going to be a fun day.Reviewer stated that he only did one play through and did not know if the ending was always the same, which is doubtful as entire cast can be killed off.
I can pass along the following... spoilers ho for those who haven't played the game yet.I'm fairly sure there are multiple cutscenes for different choices as there are different amount of people in some points of the game. Not sure about this, as I haven't had time to revisit the episodes yet.
Because it wont be the same cutscenes again and again. No, they want to be able to skip them after the first playthrough and/or fast-forward through dialogue, like you can do in VNs with multiple endings. If you start the game over 5 times, would you have the patience of watching the same cutscenes again and again?
Unskippable cutscene by itself is not that bad, however unskippable cutscenes during replay? That's bullshit, especially for a game like this which encourages more than one playthrough (multiple endings and multiple scenarios)

Watching a stream now. Game is gorgeous.

These cutscenes are different, you don't want to skip most of these. There are QTEs and they differ like the ending differs. They are not that linear.
No, they want to be able (on the 2nd, 3rd playthrough) to skip those you already saw during the first playthrough and/or fast-forward through already-seen dialogue, like you can do in VNs with multiple endings. If you start the game over 5 times, would you have the patience of watching the same cutscenes again and again?

Hmm the review mentions decisions don't really matter?
This post just makes me wonder if people actually know how this game plays, because a few of you seem to be missing the whole point of it....
He said he did 2 playthroughs and 2 characters ccannot be killed. Didnt want to spoil anything

Nobody said to ignore the reviewer in fact I said totally the opposite basically read more carefully what the reviewer has said i.e he only manage 1 play through and did not know.
No I don't. I did not want to spoil myself with anything. Is there anything wrong with that?

The big reason why I would discourage being able to fast forward through cutscenes is that almost every decision you make in the game and the strength of the character relationships with one another fundamentally alter the dialogue in subtle ways. I've rewatched some scenes a half-dozen times with organically different dialogue each time depending on a decision you made, someone being alive or dead, having spotted a clue or not spotted a clue, whether a character hates another character or loves them - it's all variable. Skipping doesn't make sense at all like it would in some other titles where a key decision just throws you into a different timeline because the layers are much more elaborate here. It's something you really can't appreciate until you've seen dozens of playthroughs, however.I mean, instead of making all cutscenes unskippable, why not just have some flags for cutscenes you've already seen in previous playthroughs? Let the player be able to skip crap they have already seen, but force them to watch new stuff.

I lost one character during my second play through because I took the time to look for a collectible.
Also, reviews go up at 11am EST.

All characters can be killed. I killed one of these "unkillable" characters on my playthrough.
Why are people speaking these things when they haven't even played the game? (Not pointing you out)
Hah! I was sure there was a hdden timer on that scene. I was right! I didn't stop looking for collectibles because of that.
Do you often get your gaming news from the highly reputable Powerpyx?
Don't put too much stock in reviews like that, they are fishing for hits before the real reviews come out.

It's possible to have 0 survivors or 8 survivors. The reviewer's contention was that 2 specific characters will always make it to the final scene of the game to drive the conclusion and then possibly live or die based on their decisions thereI think he is talking about the minimum characters alive at the end of the game and not about a specific character. Is it possible to have only one survivor?
