What's the republican pledge? What did he pledge to do?

Not to run as a 3rd Party candidate:

If Trump gets slaughtered in the primaries than he will probably keep to the pledge.

But if barely loses? The pledge is fucked.

What is it with the GOP and pledges? Why do they always seem to agree to these silly worthless papers. They do it in Congress all the time too, invent stupid pledges that they'll all do whatever.

Very... cult like, almost?

It's not some legally binding contract. If the party does something that Trump believes loses him the nomination, he will run a third party campaign. I don't believe Trump will even come close to winning though (he won't win one primary).

If he doesn't win, he'll just ignore it and his fans will love him for it even more. He'll be "fighting the establishment".

This man running is confirming all my doubts that Idiocracy was a documentary sent to us by Mike Judge's children to warn us all of what lies ahead

So now is the GOP going to try to completely torpedo Trump's nomination with the confidence that he won't go 3rd party?

Pretty silly from the Republicans as Trump can work this to his advantage either way. If he gets the nomination he can point to it as proof of his "loyalty" and if he loses the nomination he can repudiate it and come off as even more of a maverick.

Not a good deal, Trump. You just lost your teeth.

That's my take on it. Granted, it isn't a legally binding contract but I'm not 100% sure this is the right move for his ego or ability to power play. RNC attack ads will now flow like rain water. I guess this could make a good "fuck you" moment later on but it could also back fire so......*shrug*

Many of the things Trump is saying about about bringing back jobs to the USA do not match up with what the Republicans have done over the years. Or am I wrong in thinking this?

Dude says two more questions..asks 10 more. Says two more questions..did it again. Goes back on the mic twice..lol. More to come..I'm sure..

Who's the top contender to be the Republican frontrunner at this point and when does that get decided?

American elections have a primary system. This means that, beginning this February, every state will have their own election every couple weeks. Generally speaking, whoever has the most votes in a single state "wins" the state, meaning that they get a certain amount of electoral votes. Candidates who lose repeatedly generally drop out of the race, and their followers support another candidate.

Trump currently leads across the board. If he's very lucky, he'll win most of the state elections and secure himself the Republican nomination. However, because most Republicans dislike Trump, most Republicans will likely rally behind another candidate. As Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, and Ben Carson drop out of the race, their supporters will probably flock to Jeb Bush en masse.

Dumb play. Basic game theory said he was playing his cards correctly before. Something with money probably made him him do it.
