Well Episode 32 has really soured my enjoyment of the game.

Why go to all that effort developing new gear if they're going to take it away? Subsistence should be an option, don't force it on players.

I've heard that you can get an.... ummm.... unique cut-scene with
Quiet
if you do something right.

Anyone can tell me what exactly am I suppose to do without spoiling anything? My friend said
to take her with me and do lots of side missions without coming to base and then come back to base and see what happens.
I did it but nothing.

I don't know what actually the cut-scene is so I would really appreciate it if someone could point me to the right direction without spoiling anything. Thanks.

Would definitely like to know the same.

Also, are there any cutscenes or events that cannot be triggered after you finish chapter 1? Just want to make sure I do everything I can before I hit that point.

So... I'm post mission 31 and I've been called back to MB just after finishing some side op.
Apparently a kid died and Eli was "telling" me to follow him but I've lost his tracks... Any ideas where he might be ?

yeah if you fulton five guys get a checkpoint/save then die, you will still keep everything.

What if you just die without getting a checkpoint or whatever?

I was doing a side OP, and I fultoned like 15 guys heading towards my objective. Then I got spotted and the checkpoint was before I started, so do I get those 15 guys or no?

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

You don't need to do these to progress in the story.

Just do a few side op's and more story missions will unlock.

If you see the saving logo on the top right corner you should keep those guys :)

My english is so bad I never really understood what that meant :|

I like to think my English is fairly good (well, understanding of it at least, my own writing is a whole another thing lol) and even I didn't realize what it meant for a while. Not a phrase you come across often.

No, everything is reset then

Okay, how the hell do I (Mission 26-27 gameplay spoilers)
deal with this quarantine business? I have absolutely no idea how to "guess" which soldiers have it. Every 10 minutes my levels are dropping because people are getting sick. What is the "tell"?

Yeah I ended up purging like 30-40 C/D/E trash recruits this morning to make space for the sudden proliferation of A-B level dudes I find in Africa.

I got so into the habit of using the fulton as a way to permanently hide bodies I ended up picking up a whole bunch of college drop outs apparently.

its the one and only thing all the original quarantined staff had in common. You may have quarantined a bunch at this point though so if you just want the answer click the next spoiler

quarantine all staff that speak Kikongo. You will lose levels when you do but it will be much better than if they just keep dying

Thanks. I would have never figured that out, lol. I hope I can
eventually heal all these guys, right? My MB numbers really took a hit.

Trash gets thrown out automatically, lower-leveled guys make room for higher levels.

You have to look at the list of quarantined staff members and find out what all of them have in common. Based on that, go through the list of your staff and quarantine everyone with the same feature.

If you don't want to find out for yourself, here's the solution:

Everyone quarantined speaks the language Kikongo. Quarantine everyone who speaks Kikongo, if you've done it right Ocelot will comment that death toll has plumited. People will still occasionally die unless you do the next two story missions.

There is a common trait that the first sick have, put them all in quarantine.

If you really want to know....spoiler

Lol thats strange.

Thanks!

In a single word: Yes.

On a different topic:
Regarding Post Mission 27 stuff:
Ive got like 40 code talker tapes through to the beginning of Chapter 2 I'm listening too and holy shit. Parasites are the new Nanomachines.

Really?

Oh well I guess I'm being proactive. I did have a bit of doubt in my mind about what was happening to my better recruits as I was picking them up amongst 15 others.

Yeah I just compulsively Fulton any and everything. It removes them from the field non lethally, and I get more staff. Win win.

I just realised I've been replaying the missions lol. Do I have to do that to progress? If so that kinda sucks.
No. You just have to finish a side op or a mission and eventually you'll get new things to do. Just remember you only have to do the Yellow dotted missions to progress the plot.

How far do I have to be to extract vehicles and deploy them alongside me? I have DD now so I'm never touching that horse again

Up to Mission 10 at least for the first chance. Mission... 15? 16? 20? after that is another chance if you miss it (but you could always replay the first mission). You need a specialist to get the Cargo Fulton. Which will give you the ability to Fulton the Cargo Materials and Vehicles. Once you have a vehicle at Mother Base you can call it (ANYTHING you captured) in to use.

here's my method for dealing with escorted transports. It's worked twice now.

BJqCu9E.png

You can use anything really - jeep in the road, sleeping enemy soldier, smoke grenades, decoys. Once they stop, detonate all the C4 and then do what you need to do with the transport.

You probably won't get the spacing down the first try, but if you force the convoy to stop once or twice and just observe how far apart they are it's not that hard. Especially with upgraded C4. I can Fulton tanks now but this is so much cooler dammit.

ahahha yup this is what I used for finally pass mission 16.... but seriously the hardest part about that mission was the fucking checkpoints half way across the map... smh...

I have a question about Quiet, for later in the game.

I've heard that she will leave forever if I don't have the Butterfly emblem as my logo? Is that true and if so, is that all I need to worry about?

AHAHAHAHA.

I got an S-Rank in Episode 18.

AHAHAZHAHAHAHAHA

I left the four kids there, because they refused to moved where I wanted them to move. "If one of them dies, the mission is a failure." ... "Well, you didn't saw them die, have a S-Rank, Snake."

Full ending finally achieved and damn was that confusing to figure out how to progress. I can see some interesting discussions in the future about it. Pretty tempted to start another run now so that I can some spend a bit more time with the base instead of rushing through things, maybe try the harder difficulty. It's kind of a pain that it feels like motherbase won't progress very far unless you focus specifically on it and free roam for guards and materials.

I'm thinking a playthrough with minimal returns to motherbase might actually be fun too. Get the ball rolling then try to stay in the field as long as possible rather than relying on the bowie copter to do 80% of the work for me.

I hated the kids, had to tell them to wait, then go, for them to start actually going anywhere. I got S too, maybe they're generous because they know nobody wants to replay that mission.

God damn. Just got pulled into an emergency mission and I totally misread the situation. I tool up with machine guns and shit, run in there like Rambo and got cut the fuck down. Didn't realise stealth was an option, I assumed it was all action.

This is what I'm afraid of, in terms of losing high level staff. The help message says that if someone invades and reaches the core, they capture the platform and associated staff - which I assume is randomly chosen from people in that section who are not under direct contract.

I imagine late in the game A++/S rank soldiers are common, but it still sounds like a pain. Especially when you can just lose stuff even if you are never online.

This is why KojiPro needs to explain it. People are not sure if it's the ENTIRE staff of Mother Base that defends invasions or the Security (which the tutorial hints at?) Team. Either way, it doesn't solve that a lot of people don't want this headache and would rather turn it off.

I love how they were like "oh yeah it's optional" but if you login online after mission 22 for the daily bonuses on Konami's servers, you're FORCED to make a base and do the tutorials explaining the mode. It's so stupid.
