Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

Behemoth just announced that Castle Crashers is going to be backward-compatible "in the near-ish future". Owners of the 360 version (ME!) will be able to get it for free until 20th september, then it's going to cost 5$ (4€ for us europeans like Minecraft then?).:

The Backwards Compatible version will always be free.

What's free for a limited time is the brand new remastered version (if you own Castle Crashers on 360).

I don't understand your post. Do you mean the X1 version will be free?

If you have the 360 version, the XB1 version will be free until 20th September. After 20th September you will have to pay $5 to upgrade.

Basically, if you have the 360 version, make sure you purchase the xb1 version for $0.00 before 20th September.

Yeah sorry for that. I meant the X1 version as others mentioned.

About the first Borderlands: IMHO it's not as good as the second one, but it's worth a try if you have friends for coop.

Not my pic. Screenshots and recordings are disabled for BL1 due to licensing issues.

I don´t really understand why Gearbox would want to prevent this.

But there are worst things that could be disabled than noch being able to make a screenshot or video :)

You also need to be a gold member.
Sucks, I have 360 CastleCrashers and an xbone....but no gold.

I think it's a glitch. I can take screenshots of Borderlands via Kinect but not from the mini guide or whatever it's called.

I picked up Borderlands at GameStop, might be returning it. The controls are just awful, will have to see if I can get used to it.

The voice command always works but is it actually recording or just acknowledging that you said the command?

You have to look at the circle around the logo in the corner of the screen when you issue the "Take a Screenshot" command.

If it flashes green it records (valid command).

If it flashes yellow, it doesn't record (blocked).

This was my first impression when playing the game on release day. Borderlands 2 is a bit better, but still not on the level of a lot of other popular shooters. The games are definitely not popular for being mechinically outstanding, it's the characters and tone, as well as the loot, that people love about them.

Also from the (very) little I've played in BC mode, the framerate is not great. I remember it being iffy at times, but not this bad.

Been playing B1 on and off on 360 the past few weeks so being able to experience the framrates on BC is interesting to me and yeah there is a drop but the game is still very playable.

I will say though I jumped on the claptrap dlc and the frame rate was worse compared to the main portion of the game, no idea how it compare to the 360 dlc.

Weird, I played 6 hours straight of it on Backwards Compatibility this weekend, and took to the controls like a duck to water.

During those 6 hours I did almost all of it co-op with 3 other randoms, and boy, it was fun! And great! I even did party chat with them eventually - they were all Xbox 360 players. Worked really well. Obvious frame rate issues in places, however looking at some YouTube Let's Play videos on X360 there's obvious framerate issues with Co-Op anyway.

So with my Xbox 360 (bought in 2008/09) finally getting the red ring of death this backwards compatibility is more important then ever for me. My collection isn't that big but there games I really enjoyed and want to play again. So the key titles for me are the following.

Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Fable 2
Fable 3
Fallout 3 (I still have DLC here I never finished)
Tales of Vesperia (this hurts the most because I never for to play it. I picked up a copy but things kept getting in the way of me really playing it and now can't play it at all.

I have Mass Effect 1 and 2 and Dragon Age 1 but don't really care about those. Have both trilogies on PC already and beat them all. The above list though is key. I was already leaning toward an Xbox One and with the 360 drying I might as well just get one if I can play these older games on it. I know Lost Odyssey was mentioned by name by one of the Xbox heads when it came to multi-disc games so I'm hoping that makes the cut.

Ubisoft teasing BC games. Not my pic

I just bought Blacklist last week and it comes with two discs. I doubt it'll be on the BC list unless they've solved the multiple disc problem.
They said that will be solved by launch.

The translated question is "Which 360 games would you like to be BC" but considering there's rainbow 6 which we already know is coming, and the coverart is the xbox one BC covers instead of the normal 360, it seems more like a tease and a way to interact with their fans rather than a literal question.

I got Borderlands 1 Xbox Originals version, which comes on two discs, and that worked fine on Xbox One. They packaged the second disc content in the download.

Do we have a comprehensive list of all upcoming titles including everything developers have confirmed or hinted at?

MS first party games are confirmed 100%.
3rd party confirmed games are Fallout 3, Rainbow Six Vegas 1-2, Just Cause 2.
Other hinted games are Injustice, Burnout Paradise, Bayonetta, Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds and almost every Ubisoft title.

Everyone should head on over to the OT I made that Chris just pointed out :)

I *think* the only thing I need to add are those titles Ubisoft Facebook just posted. I know they are "rumors", but you don't just make those new 360 backwards Compat boxarts for shits and giggles :p
