The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC |OT| More Olivier Than Ever

currently replaying FC. some guy just gave me one of those books. i was just thinking: no, i'm not doing this shit. keep your book.
The accompanying text for getting chapter 5 (PC version) straight up makes fun of the game for encouraging you to go out of your way when that doesn't make any sense vs. the story.

Oh man, just one more day! I won't be able to jump in right away because I have a midterm tomorrow afternoon but I know what I'll be doing all night. Gonna have to make the most of that one night, though, because I'll have a shit ton of work to do over the week-end. :(

November is most likely going to be a pretty busy month for me but hopefully, if I play nothing else all month, I'll be able to slowly make my way through SC and finish it in time so that I can play Cold Steel over the holidays (assuming that Dec 15 placeholder ends up being legit).

Might not get around to this until early next year, but will purchase day 1 from GOG to show my support. Thrilled that it's finally arriving and hope that the 3rd will follow soon after!

Agreed. I like it when a 100% is hard earned, and not just something you get normally. It should feel like an accomplishment.

Thats fine, but with so many quick cut offs for side quests and items finding them naturally either turns into a game of 800 saves scouring every corner every other second to find, or just looking it up online to save yourself the frustration. I'll go with the latter especially on a 40+ hour jrpg.

No! Please, not one of the best remakes (and OG games) Falcom has made! There's got to be another way!

If there isn't, do what you have to, but Brandish needs to get its respect. So does Lord Monarch, but I struggle along on that front.

Yes, there has to be another way, because the memory stick is only 2GB, so I have to get a bigger one tomorrow :-D

A huge thanks to all the developers involved in this localization and thanks to Falcom for creating awesome rpgs.

I will buy the game tomorrow night for sure, tho I have to replay FC with perfect score on PC first.

Have fun everyone!

I said in the thread where we announced the policy change that it's a fuzzy guideline. The point was to prevent OTs from becoming insular communities before the game is even in people's hands. A full 24 hours before it'll be in anyone's hands is pushing it a little, but it's fine in a lot of cases. Not fine in others. It depends on how popular the game is and what the discussion is like in the thread, etc

In short, let us take care of it.

Great OT!

Just wanted to make this available if you're coming from PSP to PC or if you just want a PC save file:

https://copy.com/BxvcgrF2JrKZhDVx

All BP, all side quests completed, most (all?) characters at level 39 (out of a max transferrable of 40).

There ya go.

That's fair, although I've always viewed 100% completion as being more of a second playthrough sort of thing to begin with.

Ugh, I can't believe I won't be home until tomorrow night. I'll be extremely disappointed if SC isn't on Steam's top selling games by the time I make my purchase.

Eh, that depends on how the side stuff is designed in the game. FC was like some of the more frustrating Tales games with time limited quests or items that required you to backtrack. Finding all of the stuff in those cases is more annoying than rewarding.

Can't believe it's finally here! Double dipping on this for sure.

Trying to finish the PC version of FC before it comes out. If I can't, I'll probably just start the PSP version.

All right, so I beat FC on PSP several years back. Is there any simple way to transfer that save file onto my Vita to get the bonus?

I'll be waiting for FC to go on sale on the PSN before I get SC. I have it on PC and the PSP limited edition, but I want to play SC on my Vita and I'd need a digital copy of FC to replay and get 100%.

Via Google, looks like you can use Content Manager. You had to have played at least one PSP game on the target Vita (doesn't have to be Trails FC): http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/52313/how-can-i-move-my-psp-game-saves-onto-my-ps-vita

Unless you've trashed the memory stick you played FC on, you should still have your save. Alternatively, someone posted a 100% save on the first page of this thread.

I'll be staying up late tonight to grab the game and put an hour or two in, mainly because I'll be working all day tomorrow so I'll have precious little time to devote to it until Friday. Hopefully that time won't be spent having to deal with bugs but this being PC you can't rule anything out. :p

Has it been stated this is releasing at midnight? Usually these things come out in the afternoon Eastern time.

If you have a PSP & the FC save still safe, you can move that to Vita, if I'm not totally mistaken.

I wonder if I should replay it on my PSP then. The battery is almost dead and it's the UMD version of the game, might not be worth it...

Absolutely. The backtracking in particular is sometimes completely random and at other times you have to deliberately ignore what's said in the story and do something different instead ("OMG we have to hurry to point X!" - nope, gotta backtrack to place Y first or else you'll miss an item forever).

When I first played Trails FC on PSP my enjoyment of the game was definitely harmed by missing out on random stuff for no good reason. I enjoyed it a lot, lot more on my second playthrough on PC when I already completed the story once and didn't have to worry about anything anymore.

I definitely recommend not to go for 100% on the first playthrough, this would just ruin the experience. If you miss something, you missed something. It's okay. Gotta replay it anyway before 3rd comes out. :p
Pls Xseed

I'm not sure what relevance your statement has to the two posts you quoted, which are giving you ways of not having to replay the game.

Honestly, at this point if you're going to replay the game anyway, you might as well play both games on Steam instead.

Put a couple hours into the original (played on a Vita TV), have another copy on Steam (unplayed, which I'll totally get around to, honest).

Will still buy this day one and add it to the pile - these guys need to be rewarded for that mighty translation job. More JRPG's on Steam, please!

Can you only carry over the other file if you beat the game? Because I haven't beaten it, and I don't know if I have 2.5G to spare on my PSP. Might have to DL on Vita.

I'm so happy we are finally getting it. Will definitely do a replay of FC on PC first (played first time on PSP and want my clear save) but buying SC as soon as it shows up on steam (18 hours according to steam).

You really shouldn't be considering starting SC without finishing FC first.

Definitely. SC picks up immediately the morning after the final scene of FC, and directly follows up the consequences of those events. Think of it has seasons of a serial TV show, only without even any brief recap to remind people of what happened previously.

Uh oh

Only got half an hour to DL this at the airport, don't think I'm gonna make it, lol.

Can confirm that the release candidate currently sitting on my hard drive is a hair over 4GB exactly. Downloading it at an airport might be a dicey proposition, unless you can get reliable gigabit internet at the airport.

With so many games both currently and back log to play its hard to even consider finding another 40+ hours to replay a game to get 100%, then you combine all other forms of entertainment and its just simply impossible.

Is there a good synopsis of the first game somewhere out there? I remember the major cliffhanger from the first game, but my memory's a bit fuzzy beyond that.

So why bother going for 100% in the first place? Just beat the game, enjoy the story, and move on to whatever else you want to do. Sometimes I feel I've gotten my money's worth out of a game even before I beat it. You're always going to have to make a choice between depth and breadth - between spending a lot of time in one game or spending a little time in a lot of games.

needs to show more effort.
between this and isaac this will be a fantastic weekend. I'm going to get pizza and wine and wrap myself in a blanket and not leave the couch.

The FC umd is still in my psp, it's been in there for years. I should really buy it digitally on the vita so I can finally play it...

Because I have mild ocd and I like completeing games, and with trails fc and I assume sc I got so much more out of the story, world, and characters by doing 100%

Load up your old save game and read the Liberal News things. They do a neat, in-universe story recap. If you have all of them, I mean.

After wiping out Mod Nation racers, I have like 2.5G left. I will try to beat FC before moving on, but I remember having a tough time beating it and quitting.
