DRIVECLUB |OT2| You Can't Rush Evolution

Where do I get information on these rally events? I follow the thread very often and didn't see it mentioned. I might have missed it though in the past couple of days. Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience or ignorance.

No probs, this was a spur of the moment thing seeing as I'd got myself back in the event organisation frame of mind and the league thing wasn't really taking off. Let me know your psn or send me a friend request and I'll forward you the challenges.

He did it in that view, as well.

Some seriously dangerous mirror placement there, surely!

LOL I wish I could drive that quickly in that viewpoint :) Yeah it's insane how close those things are to the floor / walls / rocks etc

Yeah, I mean the fact that you can't see most of the mirror because it is obscured by whatever the name is for the mickey mouse ears in front of them!

Ah I see what you mean! Yeah that'll be cos the rider is virtually lying down on the tank rather than being sat up like you'd normally ride it...

Could you send me them please? Psn: ilpaulio

Thanks a bunch :)

OK, I'm ready now for a new season pass. Finally got those 1035 stars. The last drift events were a bitch, but drifting clicked in in the end and getting them didn't take too long after that. Time to give those bikes a serious effort. :)

I'm also trying hard to earn all of the stars but I don't feel like I'm in a hurry. I'll buy the Bikes expansion on Dec 1.

It feels so rewarding getting those stars.

If Rushy is reading this, is there a way we could get some kind of "quick change" button between regular and bikes? It'd be great if we could stay on, say, the tour/TT screen but just alternate between the two rather than having to back out. I know slick UI and navigation is a high priority for Evo, and having that extra button press between menus can get a little annoying at times.

That's awesome!

I really like the twitchiness and feel of the bikes. Going back to cars is hard. I tried doing a car challenge yesterday, with the P1. I was all over the place, nailing walls, going sideways, braking late and understeering hard. It eventually came back, but it was a riot for a while.

If you dabble in Rocket League while cooling down from grinding challenges and world records in DC, you can now adorn your rocket battle car with the official Driveclub flag antenna!

^Nice I will definitely try? to get that flag.

Gotta represent:

I could have done better, and I could have done worse. I was actually quite surprised with how it turned out. This was the first time I've ever bothered to create a custom livery/paint/logo thing in any game.

Also @DHC-Shannow I sent you a PM with my PSN info so I can get in on some challenges. I play DC basically every day, and come xmas....well I can't wait.

So, I have been wanting to pick up this game for a while now. I really enjoyed even the small taste I had of the PS+ trial ver.

However, I have ALWAYS had a hard time getting into racing games without a proper wheel to play them on. I used to do autocross and other uh...not so stand-up racing activities myself so driving with a pad just frustrates me.

I don't really need anything crazy, but are there any good suggestions for affordable wheels for the PS4? I may just pick one up as a christmas present to myself. ;p

I don't think wheels are affordable at all. You have the g29 and t300rs and then the t500rs. Then you probably want a proper place to mount the wheel and whatnot. It's easily $500-$700 to get started. But yeah, Christmas :D I'm psyched.

How do I access the All Stars tour? When I try to get it thru the PSN Store it says:

This content cannot be selected at this time

It's not out yet. It's coming next week, along with the EBR Tour pack for Bikes:

Like I said, I don't really need anything that expensive. I know there are cheaper alternatives out there like the HORI line but they probably aren't gonna have all the fancy stuff like force feedback and such I suppose.

Would like to keep it under $150.00 if possible. Mounting is a whole other problem I am gonna have to deal with. There really isn't a good solution in my current apartment.

It's less about having some competitive-level acccessory to git gud with and more about enjoying playing a racing game with some sort of round object in my hand that reminds me of driving my MR2 back in the day. Heh.

t80rs or the new t150. I actually didn't know the t150 existed, it's a very new wheel. If I was to guess (I would do some research of course if I was interested in buying) it's a t80 with FFB.

The T80 has only 270 degrees of rotation if i'm not mistaken and the T150 has 1080. The T150 is also compatible with the Pro pedals and gear shifter from thrustmaster.
The T150 seems like a decent option. My advice would be to avoid the T80, the 270 degress of rotation isn't great, no force feedback and the wheel size is pretty small too.

Force Feedback is not fancy, it's a required feature tbh.

True, which makes it weird that so many wheels seem to lack it.

Unfortunately doesn't seem like I can find the T150 on Amazon.jp (I see some imported T80s tho...) so might have to look into shipping internationally from normal Amazon. Will have to check some of the local shops that carry import stuff as well.

Pretty sure the only local non-import option is the HORI one...It's cheap but no FF is a huge turn-off.

On PS4 the only wheels ( I think) that don't have FFB is the t80 and the Hori one.

Yeah but there probably aren't more than 5-6 actual models at the moment right?

Seems like there is a real lack of options when it comes to midrange wheels, so the T150 is probably the best choice.

I recently started playing again and discovered the time trials that need to be completed to level up. I love it. It really adds some significance to your player level.

I hath beateth it. Which is odd, because I'm doing poor in comparison to previous rallies. Not sure if that's down to India being fairly weak, especially on the P2Ps for me or it being bikes!

Yeah just noticed you've dethroned me :-(

Here's the latest standings, good new entry by motorised mallard, Maki currently rules the roost but TRP hasn't done the sprints yet so that's affecting his time. TRP is leading 5 events with Maki, Vaga and Mango all having 1 each.

I'm just getting back into playing this somewhat regularly, and my god I forgot how fun just doing runs in various cars is. Did the Peugeot electric tour event and had a blast on... um... the middle reverse track in Canada (where you can cut a few s' and there are some amazing banked corners), figured it would be fun in something that is a bit more satisfying (and sounded better) so fired up the Jag coupe. Hngh.

It still kind of sucks there can be such disparity in some of the car sounds though. The Jag and whatever the Mercedes is that came as a preorder bonus both sound beyond fantastic, but there are other cars you'd think would sound just as good, but don't. Maybe more care/detail was put into some cars over others (or they had to rely on others' recordings).

My Driveclub experience just got a whole lot better. Why? Cause my Logitech G27 was malfunctioning, i asked at Logitech's support about the warranty and they sent me a G29 with no costs at all. I played the game since launch with a controller and like the rest of owners of that wheel, i was sad that it wasn't compatible with the console and game, can't explain my happiness right now :D

Goddamn the game changes a lot with a wheel.

Ooh. I think I might be having problems with my wheel as well. Ahem. Probably having problems selling the G29s :/

And that right there was my #1 reason for going with the g29 over the t300rs. Customer service. I've dealt with their service and it's pretty top notch. I had read some straight up horrible things about thrustmaster's. I'm sure it can vary person to person though like anything can. I'm definitely not opposed to trying a thrustmaster wheel out in the future.

Quite possible, but I've seen other companies with good customer support that will give out upgrades for faulty products. With logitech I had issues with a g502 mouse, I told them the problem and they sent me a brand new mouse. I didn't even have to RMA my old one.

I had an old Logitech Kb/Mouse combo and the keyboard started playing up, contacted them about it and didn't even have the receipt anymore, but they could tell that the item wasn't 3 years old due to the model number and they replaced without question and didn't ask for the old stuff back.

Logitech certainly have great customer service, now let me go check my Driving Force GT wheel.....

Oh how I love trashtalking to my friend who is in the lead, to see him crash a few hundred meters before the finish line and blaming me of distracting him.

This is one of the joys of regularly playing with your club mates, there's always plenty of mickey taking going on and last corner calamities are a regular occurrence - one of my old team mates used to do it that often that a last corner fuckup is always said to be doing a Johnson :)

I've had to replace a broken T300RS and it only became a problem because i had to do it through the vendor i bought it from and they were really bad about it. Ended up taking my money back (still waiting for nearly 2 weeks now, can't believe i have to go and make them give it to me) and buying another one from another vendor.

That said, the G29 at RRP is an absolute ripoff. They took the DFGT and G27 wheel rims, combined the buttons and rev-meter, took the G27 base and just put the new rim on there. Voilá, 100-150eur expensive than a T300RS that has a dual-belt ffb system as opposed to G27's old and loose helical gearing which is actually worse than what you can get in a DFGT (if you're lucky and get a good one which tbh applies to all logitech wheels).

The G29 pedals are apparently somewhat decent and atleast they feature a clutch. I find it such a shame my Fanatec Clubsport Pedals v2 don't actually work on PS4 and if i wanted to play PS4 games w/ my wheel, i'd have to dig out the T300RS plasticky pedals.

I'm aware of how the g29 is a ripoff. I did get it for $50 off and a free shifter. Yea I know the g27 came with a shifter.

The g27 is $250, g29 was $350 + free shifter for me. It sucks I had to pay $100 for ps4 functionality but it's worth it to me.

I did one of the motorcycle challenges. Seems like the other challenges are locked for me. Will probably have to unlock the bikes offline.

Yeah you might want to go do the tour. Getting pretty much all bikes to lv5 will unlock you all the bikes. Except obviously the last one(s)

Think I'm gonna take a break from the game for a while.

Whilst I enjoy the community aspects still and all the support from Evo, I'm in a real funk whilst playing: can never get good times anymore and I'm not as driven to do better either. Hopefully a break will sort me out.

Still gonna work on OT3, though :)

Don't stress about good times, just bettering your existing ones! When I was lapping in that Jag a few days ago, I knew my laps were never going to be stellar, just so long as I could keep improving. Set myself a goal of under a minute when I started at around 1:08 and after 10 minutes or so, got there :)

Sometimes a break works wonders and there's plenty of other big games to play over the next couple of months. Hopefully season 2 will be announced soon bringing some new tracks to learn - the bikes have really freshened the game up for me but it'll probably go on the back burner for a while once battlefront lands.

Had some good races online last night.

https://youtu.be/kKJleyX6Gic

Bit of context for this vid - I was on a 6 race unbeaten streak and for those that aren't aware, driveclub bases it's final positions off the time taken to reach the end, not track position... It's the fairest way but can be frustrating...
