What is going on

Are we not spoilering tags in here? Its just not going to be safe anywhere with everyone on different episodes.

If it is released, you don't need to spoiler it. To be safe, don't come in here until you watched the whole thing.

I've already learned that Thanos is in this show. I've been spoiled already.

Why is the spoiler thread even up a week before it airs. There's not really any leaked stuff out there either one could discuss.

So how do folks think this show is going to adapt Nuke? Seems like it's taking a lot of liberties if he's stable enough to be a cop in the MCU, but in any case, I imagine he'll be the main physical antagonist later in the series, as Purple Man is a different kind of threat.

Was hoping her "been there done that" line in the trailer was about her past as Jewel :/

Wouldn't that be a bit hard to explain? Cause isn't Iron Man or Hulk sort of supposed to be the 'start' of when Heroes started to become a thing. Yeah some existed before but either they were many years ago (Captain America) or in secret (Ant-Man/Wasp).

is this out on the 20, right?
cool, can't wait. I quite liked Daredevil despite my personal quirks against it

This is really good to hear! Calms my fears. :)

It was honestly one of the things that I was skeptical about myself going in considering they have to establish Jessica Jones without a "normalized" superhero presence in the MCU but the workaround they wrote for it fits nicely within the context of the world they've established without overtly making her a costumed hero.

Saw the first two episodes.

LOVED IT! Absolutely loved it. And I want a Luke Cage series yesterday.

This feels more Noir than Daredevil, which spilled into Action/Martial Flick quite a bit.

Can you tell us what they did instead?

I'm only through four episodes, but I'm annoyed that she's only high jumping. I want flight goddammit! She needs to tap into her inner Earhart.

I hate a little bit that they used Nuke because now we will never get him fighting against Captain America.

And he has to be one of the bad guys :(

Just finished and DAMN. Powerful shit all around.

Now i need something more bright. Maybe i should watch Requiem for a Dream.

Just finished

Loved it!

Conclusion kind of fizzles a tad. Im sure there will be lots of opinions on it

Didnt care for the daredevil red herring but Rosario Dawson was great

Episode 12 is effing great.

I vastly preferred the ending of Jessica Jones to Daredevil. The Daredevil ending was so bad. :(

Was slightly annoyed Daredevil didn't show up in the end but Claire being there was fun. I am sad to see Kilgrave just straight up killed in the end. I hoped he would be around more often.

I dont think either of them were bad honestly

Just underwhelming. They tie up the series into a bow and leave it alone as an isolated piece.

I get that from an artistic standpoint.. At least for now.

I just found it way more effective because the whole show was literally about power and mind games. Combine that with the themes of abuse and sexual violence, and the way Jones ends the problem is probably the most affirming way to end it.

Meanwhile the final Daredevil/Kingpin confrontation is just two guys punching each other in an alleyway.

Ehh

Its kind of a classic ending with less spectacle. I actually enjoyed their final fight but yeah... Tough to top all the amazing content that came before it lol.

Jessica's ending was more symbolic and kind of clever. Kind of sad Kilgrave had to die but there was no way he was living after all that thematic buildup

The lack of interference on a mass mind controller in New York though... I suppose its explainable during but certainly not in the aftermath

Someone big has to notice the death of Kilgrave and its sad not a single nugget was dropped at the very end

Let's forget that the MCU exists. It's the only way this show makes sense. lol

But I just rewatched the end of Daredevil again to compare. Beyond the anti-climatic fight, the final two scenes are Kingpin staring at a wall angrily and Daredevil jumping into a fight after hearing a woman scream.

Meanwhile, Jessica Jones ends with her not even wanting to take any calls. She's just slumped at her desk as the camera pans out of her office/room. They're literally opposite endings. lol

Pros
- Casting is spot on, Ritter and Colter are GOAT tier
- Tennant was haunting as fuck as Kilgrave and his backstory rivaled Kingpin's
- Malcolm had the underrated arc and it helps his character seeing him rise from his lowest point.
- Trish is a good partner but kinda sad she really doesn't fit the Hellcat persona yet.
- First 3 episodes are really great, got me invested in the series.
- Simpson threw a wrench in plans but also had a really interesting arc. Seeing him becoming a another victim to the MCU Nuke.
- Enjoyed Jessica's power discovery scene and loved the hint of Jewel. Also, Luke in a yellow shirt!

Cons
- Robyn & Ruben were kinda pointless as fuck, kinda wished Kilgrave killed them both.
- Hogarth's arc kinda felt pointless to me, yeah, she is central to the series but only til the very end. Basically, her lesbian drama felt like filler. I couldn't give a fuck about her divorce drama till 1000 Cuts
- Whereas I felt Daredevil had less filler, Jessica Jones had three episodes that could have been cut to 1-2 episodes.
- The perception of mind control powers is brushed off in the same world as Hulk/Thor/Alien Invasion. What?
- Ending felt ho hum, I did like the final confrontation of Kilgrave and Jessica but then, it suddenly ends. There's the tease of origins of Jessica's powers and where is Cage but I feel it should be a standalone season aside from Cage.

Yeah, I was hoping for some Daredevil tie in at the very end. Like how cool would it have been if Mat and Froggy had appeared at the very end or something. Or in the scene at the end in the police station. Sure it may have not made much sense, but it would have been cool.
