College Football Week 14 - Last Chance (For Chaos)

I think Ridley is going to have a huge game. Sparty's secondary isn't good.

But can Coker deliver, especially under pressure from MSU DL? Key for MSU will be to stop Henry and dare/force Coker to throw.

That said, I believe Alabama is favorite by a bigger margin than Clemson is. Bama's D is playing at a ridiculous level at the moment and MSU's offense isn't exactly firing from all cylinders at the moment, and a lot of it is on Cook. Oklahoma is this year's Ohio State - huge momentum after a perfect end to the season. Frankly believe the Clemson/Oklahoma game is toss-up territory, IMO.

well, did ok against Florida and A&M's lines, similar to MSU's line.

Hoping for improvement during the break.

Man, another win for a Bama system RB? When will they figure it out...

Bama's only won 2 Heisman, it just so happens that both are RBs.

Henry's a clearly better prospect than Ingram who won the Heisman 6 years ago by the tiniest of margins against Gerhart. 2009 was a relatively weak year Heisman-wise.

I went to the UNC v. Texas roundball game today, and Charlie Strong was in attendance. When the camera guy put him on the video board, everyone cheered loudly. He still has the fan support I guess

He's making fun of the old system QB meme that used to be pervasive in college football.

Although I do kind of think that Alabama running backs are turning into the new USC QB when it comes to NFL prospects.

Adding my 2 cents on the Heisman. As someone who lives in Seattle and get to see Christian McCaffrey each week (Thanks Pac12 Network), he was the real deal.

Voting is messed up though. Listening to the radio that around 180 of the 870, didn't even list McCaffrey on their ballot. 157 ballots were placed before the season was complete.

7 of their games started at 7 PM Pacific or later meaning 10 PM games on the East Coast.

They need to reduce the voters and not allow voting to happen until the season is complete (conf championships completed).

All these old timer voting groups are a joke though. Don't get me started on the Baseball Hall of Fame.

It's a fact, though. There isn't one legit D in the Pac-12. SEC has 4 defenses in the top 10. Washington is Pac-12's best ranked defense in 28th place.

And McCaffrey took two more games to beat Sanders's record...

And Henry took 2 more games to beat Hershel's record. Henry's rushing total is 25th all time vs McCaffrey's #1 all time. Stanford's used to this with their 5th Heisman runner up. East Coast and white player bias.

East Coast bias rears its head. No surprise, but still a shame. McCaffrey plays for Stanford and after everyone else went to bed.

As far as defenses go, it's a mixed bag. SEC offenses are pretty one-dimensional and similar, so it's easy to have a "top defense" playing against them and the SEC's full cupboard of cupcakes as well.

Pac-12 plays 9 conference games, fewer cupcakes, and far more diverse and potent offenses. Of course defenses have a tougher time.

It's not East Coast bias so much as it is lack of exposure due to the games being so late, as you mentioned. There's ignorance of something, and there's dislike for the sake of bias. This is more the former. People just don't know about him. I don't know much about him, honestly. What I've seen looks really good, and his numbers speak for themselves.

The SEC only has a few pro-style offenses, most are spread. I don't see how it's really that much different than the PAC-12. You can't watch PAC-12 and SEC games and think that the defenses are on the same level across the board. Stanford always has a good defense as does Washington, and there's a few other decent ones. There are some great defensive standouts on the teams in the PAC-12, no doubt, the problem is the lack of talent across the board on defense. That or the lack of quality coaching, not sure.

Cupcake games, sure. I'd like to see a 9 game conference schedule in the SEC and no FCS teams scheduled. I think the latter is coming sooner than later.

Regarding defensive stats, you can get breakdowns of total defense or scoring defense against power 5 teams, or FBS teams only on cfbstats. The numbers are what they are. Defenses aren't as good in the PAC-12.

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!

The only Bama RB who has failed was Trent... Ingram, Yeldon, and Lacy were all starting RBs on their teams this year. The only other Saban RB from his time at Bama was Glenn Coffee, who was the starting RB at SanFran before walking away and joining the Army.

Oh, come on.

The flood era was so bad, Schiano screwed us by leaving a couple days before signing day so we had to settle for Flood. It'd be like Saban going to the pros days before signing day and promoting Cristobal to head coach.
Except it's even worst than that. Cristobal at least has some HC experience and was successful at it. Flood had zero and was a failure of a OL coach.

Pop pop will be proud.

This is the type of coaching hire that shows legendary foresight on the part of legendary head coach Chris Ash.

He knows to look to the future, not to the past. To get someone young and dynamic.

Ohio State should've fired Urban Meyer and kept Chris Ash. They will regret losing him.

One might even say that the Meyer dynasty is OVER! tOSU is going to return to mediocrity because they let Chris Ash leave. He was the real brains behind Urban Meyer's success! Rutgers is the team to watch out for in the B1G and all you doubters need to take another look.

How'd I do?

You really expect anyone to take you seriously with that?

So former Bama QB McCarron is playing for the Bengals as Dalton got hurt. He threw a TD to AJ Green.

Also, on another note, the 76ers of the NFL, the Falcons, are shitting it up.

Only guy to ever have his draft stock rise by falling out a 4th story window

Guy will have an injury rating of 99 on Madden for sure

about 70 fewer carries than Herschel, and Henry really has only played 11.75 games, being that he barely played in 2 games with weak opponents.

Comparing McCaffrey to Sanders is a complete travesty. Sanders got 80%+ of his, running and catching. 22 more touchdowns, which is a great year for any running back. McCaffrey should get little credit for kick return yards, when he's near the leader in KR attempts. This is a bad thing. Take a look at the other KR's that had 30-40 kick return attempts, and the teams they played for.http://www.cfbstats.com/2015/leader/national/player/split01/category05/sort06.html. They aren't very good.
