what was too much? i dunno, i was being honest as a PS4 owner. it's definitely not a powerful machine, it does lack features (i cant even put my own music on it, wtf?), the controller battery IS pathetic..

I have some bad news for you regarding the future of video game consoles...
The thing is that LBP is reaching its limitations now. Not much can be done to improve the game drastically.

The controller battery lasts 4-5 hours which might seem pathetic next to Wii U Pro Controller. But again, what doesn't...?

I can't remember the last time I turned my PS4 on but I don't feel the urge to get rid of it (like I did with my One). Just picked up at GTX 970 for my PC so I can start diving into games like GTA V and Just Cause 3 on a more powerful platform.. Either way, the PS4 has a very exciting line up of games for 2016 and I'm excited to pick some up! GG Sony!

No it isn't. The right step for LBP3 was going full on 3D. That would've been the natural transition for the franchise, just like how Mario went through it with Mario 64. The limitations would feel waaay out reach again if they would've done that.
I thin they mean more how when the 360 released it was a really awesome piece of tech, PS4 is the most powerful console but it's not like things used to be.
Saying it's not a powerful machine is not really the best way to put it though.

4-5? Mine never drains that fast. I get at least around 6 hours. Besides anyone who regularly plays game more than 5-6 hours at a time surely has more than one controller no?

Sure it could be more powerful, so could the competition, neither is. Currently the PS4 is the most powerful console out, so saying it isn't enough is silly.
If you want raw power that you can keep up with technology with, get a PC. Apples vs Oranges.

I have been gaming for 30 years my friend, it is EXACTLY how things have been. Things are evolving sure, and I appreciated with MSFT did with the 360 for online connectivity, and was my go to console last gen since getting it day one...
But as far as graphical leaps, and just being a gaming machine, it is going as it has been.
Which my point still stands. It is the most powerful console out... so "it is a weak machine" is a "weak argument".
Actually, it says quite a lot.
It says 36 million people were willing to buy it at those prices.

Sony is probably just waiting till 4k get standardized and they start releasing 4k blurays before updating the ps4 to play them. Just my assumption with no real fact to base off.
I think saying you want it to be more powerful is a fine opinion to have.
Personally I'm fine with it, so far the PS4 is definitely one of my favorite consoles I've ever owned.
Sure, I want my car to be more powerful too, but I didnt buy that model, but lets bitch about that too.
Stupid argument imho.

I know sony isn't pushing for for 4k because bluray has already gained traction. I'm aware 4k is just a resolution but I include it because I look at it like a natural evolution of bluray.
I don't really consider VR just gaming platform. To me it's more about experiences.
When MS revealed the 360 is was pretty impressive on a hardware level, it wasn't like that this gen with the console reveals.
I don't really consider it an argument for anything, but I think being somewhat disappointed it's not this really mindblowing thing is fine.

I believe PS4 is a console of its time. It was created during a massive recession - a global financial crisis bringing whole economies to their knees. It was built to a price and coming in at 600 again simply wasn't an option.
Many acknowledged before any reveals that this generation's leap was unlikely to be as profound as those seen before.
It wasn't about not trying hard enough. It's about building what they could with the budget they had. Personally, considering those conditions, I think they did a damn fine job.

Of course pc is an option for everyone so it's not really a big deal if you care that much about it.
Mine has 12h but the controller is new, old one gets less.

A DS3? Nah, at most 10 hours.
I don't care if it drains in 3 or 2 hours. It charges with a simple cellphone cord, so I don't even have to connect it directly to the PS4. Not trying to be rude with the above statement, just that... is something so absurd to complain in the first place. It just baffles me that some people even prefer to have a controller with AA batteries.

you're missing my point though that explained on the previous page; t's fine to think vr will be more than for gaming but again it is still supplementary, not complementary to the Ps4 like how DVD and blu ray were for Ps2/3 respectively.
My PC at the time the 360 came out blew it out of the water. Nothing has really changed. Graphics look prettier but to say the PS4 has weak hardware compared to the PC? That's been the case since last generation.
MSFT just need to unlock them, another gpu, more cpu's im sure im missing something.
MisterX can probably give a more precise list on how the xbox one will become more powerful than the ps4.
Well I remember thinking it was cool back then and I didn't feel that way this gen.
Although just to be clear that stuff really doesn't matter much to me.

It was the usher in to the "HD" (720p) era of graphics for consoles to have PC like resolutions. It was a natural evolution since the consoles prior were flirting with progressive scan one way or another. Yes it was a nice leap, but no greater a leap than the first Playstation offering 3D graphics over sprites.
Maybe since I was a PC gamer, I was just excited I could hook my console up to my monitor and not worry about the non HDTV hook up in the living room at the time.

I don't think it really has any hardware advantages outside of a very slight increase in cpu clock.
PS4 has better RAM, better GPU, and apparently dedicated hardware for updates and installs(not positive about this)

i ain't talking about that secret sauce bullshit. i had this discussion with gaffers over a year ago. The xbone's cup is 1.75 and its gpu is 853 MHz, its got cloud power and dx12, both of which is still unclear to me what the full potential is.

Ps4 definitely has the edge on xbone in certain things, but I think the xbone has a few advantages on Ps4, too.

PC gaming always been ahead of consoles. Nothing ever changed that atleast not since I started with both which was back around ~1985

Can't think of any off the top of my head, sorry. I'm not disagreeing with you there though as it's clear most multiplats look better on Ps4 and a lot of Ps4 exclusives arguably look better than xbone exclusives too, at a cost.

Only era that was a little stagnant on the PC front was the beginning of the first Playstation (then pulled ahead mid to end), and the first few years into the Playstation 2 (then pulled ahead and did not look back since unified shader tech).

I honestly can't agree that it does. It seems pretty cut and dry at this point. Any theoretical advantage the Xbone may have had seems to be disproven in actual application.
Cracking jokes is not hostility. Nowhere did I make any personal attacks to the person.
Of course people can be disappointed, the point I was making with my crack was that if the person is disappointed by lower priced mid range hardware on consoles today, they will likely be disappointed from here on out. I don't think any console manufacturer is going to go the route of higher priced higher specced consoles anymore. If you want to go that route, best get into the PC ecosystem.
