This why I don't buy games at launch or buy DLC.
There's always gonna be a "Complete" version of the game.

I'll get this version at some point.

I came into the thread to ask how the PC version is now. Didn't even need to ask, the thread has painted a clear enough picture. Shame.

I basically burned £30 on it at release. I did the SP stuff, learned all my combos and then quickly realised online was unplayable, and it stayed that way for months until I gave up. I wish I could erase my Steam copy and get a PSN code for it as I never got to play it online which is the reason I bought it.

Community manager on TYM said this, and KP2 are not coming to PC.

I would imagine that also includes the rollback netcode.

Jacqui and Cassie get MK3 Ninjas costumes and Tremor does not, a character that actually wore it. Makes sense.

Hold on so it comes with everything, except for one last skin pack that is pre order only?
What a dick move :p

Edit: holy shit this nor the 2nd season pass isn't coming to PC? Wtf?? O_O

So glad I waited to get this.

Yeah, WB has an history of making complete edition of their most successful games. It happened with MK IX and X is no different. The only drawback is that online activity in a NRS game drop off significantly over time despite it's relative popularity. The best time to play a Mortal Kombat game online is in the beginning months, while SF can keep an healthy player base for years and it's going to be more evident with V which has crossplay.

The good players will be there, they are the only ones that matter for anyone who cares about competing.

lmao at the PC thing, what is this 2009?

Well...they outsourced it to High Voltage, who did such a horrendous job they got pulled off it, the PS3/360 versions were cancelled (we were pretty sure they were doing those ports) and then another company was hired on to fix the PC version, and that's basically where it's at now.

Stoked to see more costumes which'll presumably be launching with each Kombat Pack 2 fighter. Looks like a lot of those shown are apocalypse packs (D'vorah, Erron, Takeda), but Kotal, Ferra and Kung Jin I think weren't previously announced? Same with Ermac's cartoony look.

Hoping cosplay pack is free for KP2 purchasers too in some fashion.

I would assume this means all KP2 characters will come out by March, likely on a weekly basis given the time frame, which is quicker than I expected. Could mean as early as next week (what with a Kombat cast on Sunday). Unless they all drop at once around March (bummer).

I wish that NR would officially state this. Their silence is telling. They must feel like it's not worth supporting anymore even though it sold 500,000 on steam. I'm ready to start boycotting them. It makes me wonder if they are even going to bother porting the next MK to steam.

EDIT:

Yeah. They can go to hell!!!

But you gotta preorder it for the Cassie/Jacqui Sub/Scorpion skins. Smh.

You know, i was considering picking this up until i saw this shit.

Fuck it, i'm going to wait until the XXXL edition then...

Yep, it's another way of trying to get more money out of people.

Greedy, I tell you, greedy! These kind of practices should be illegal.

I bought the Pc version day one, what a fucking idiot I am. It didn't even run decently on my shitty computer lol. I played hours upon hours on training mode with the graphics at the lowest and 800x600 resolution, I couldn't even justify a refund from steam.

Sweet, i had no doubt that I should wait. I've redbox'd the game a few times and it's good fun, but this is what I was expecting. Soon, too.

Game is on sale for $30 on PSN. Now to wait for XL to hit that price. I've got SFV until then.

I would have to assume the PC version also won't get any future balance adjustments, making it especially useless.

Which means I wouldn't even buy it on a steam sale for 5 dollars, as I couldn't even use it to practice the older characters.

I had a feeling this was coming at some point. Looks like I'm going to have to double dip and purchase again.

No way in hell I'll be getting the next MK game after this horseshit.

I wonder what's up with Warner Bros on PC? Seems like shit products with shit support. If I were you I would extend your sentiment to all WB games, not just NetherRealms.

I'm guessing that PC sales didn't justify the effort. This is some Wii U-level dismissal.

Edit: oh, 500k sold on PC? How does that compare to the console sales? That actually seems pretty good for a fighting game on a platform not known for fighting game support.

Wow. Build goodwill with the netcode overhaul then lose it with the pc decision. Thanks WB, continue to crap on your pc customers.

PC not getting shit confirmed...

Mortal Kombat X on PC Won’t Receive Kombat Pack 2 Content

Time to buy SV5..its the better game anyway. Also, i forgot NR is part of Warner, no wonder. this confirms my boycott on warner games.

Unreal.

From cancelling the last-gen versions to the horrid PC support, this has been beyond embarrassing.

We knew well before launch that NRS would not be handling the PC version or last gen ports. Not saying its right, but to everyone acting shocked about this just hasn't been paying attention. Most people familiar with NRS games made it a point in pre-release threads to inform those asking whether to buy console vs PC version that one should definitely buy console if possible.

Context clues also suggest that Kombat Pack 2 was not a part of the original plan and was more of a response to high demand. It would make sense that NRS / Warner would not have retained or contracted High Voltage for further work on the PC version after KP1.

I guess this is good news for me. I purchased the ultra rare Kollector's Edition for $180, but never got around to playing it (Witcher 3, Bloodborne, MGSV, and Batman Atkham Knight took all of my time). Now I can trade in the game for the Komplete Edition.

You don't wanna be the last people to jump in on a fighter if you care about online community. The community is usually a little smaller but the people left are battle hardened players. That initial learning curve is easier when you buy in at launch because everyone is learning the game at the same time. All those people who are gonna play MKX for the first time with the XL edition are about to get demolished online.

Good news for you? You bought the game for $180, haven't played it and will probably trade in the game for like $5 so you can rebuy the game at $60 and hopefully play it. It's good news for Netherrealms.
