In the animated movie or maybe it was the book, I think it's implied that Shere Kahn fully expects Mowgli to become a hunter when he grows up since he was the only tiger around due to the rest of his kind being hunted for their pelts, leading to him loathing humans for more than just being a meal

The Jungle Book brings out way more nostalgia. Also this is a retelling of the movie and the Tarzan movie is a live-action continuation. Plus there was already a Tarzan CGI movie out in 2013 that didn't do good, so maybe people just don't care for Tarzan.

Actually nevermind, I saw a DIFFERENT trailer, this one's good too though. The trailer during the previews took me by surprise - it had a woman talking to Mowgli about his hardships or whatever, and then it just cuts to actual footage of Kha with this voice actress. It was a great way to take the audience by surprise, so that even people who realized what it was would be taken by surprise.

I remember when they showed the premier trailer at D23 and the kid was on stage. He was like "so that's what it looks like?"

This is just silly to me. I love the animated movie but it's just weird with CGI.

I dig Idris as an actor but I only see his face whenever I hear it here, not the tiger. Same with ScarJo.
Walken as Louie I can dig. Might just watch it in german or french if it's good.

Better cast, more of a retelling of the original film, using the old songs/bringing out nostalgia. Tarzan is another in a long line of soul-less looking takes on prequels/side stories/sequels to the old stories and movies ala The Huntsman films, Tim Burton Alice, Pan, etc.
