As far as I know DSL seems to be unaffected. But that is because I think they're getting their lines from bell, someone else can correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah, a Bell technician set my internet up when I first moved in. That's also the reason they must ship you the modem rather than the technician bringing it to your house, because the big company technicians do not have the Teksavvy hardware.

Hopefully things will be golden by the end of this year since bell has said majority of toronto will be connected with fibre

CRTC and Toronto council has told bell they must allow wholesale use

also, public opinion will always still lean towards Uber, since they actually drive safe, and are nice enough to keep their cars clean.
every taxi i've gone into has reeked, and has run at least one red light or cut off another vehicle/biker or almost hit a pedestrian
a few times it's been all three

2. You forgot the bad attitude, attempts to scam you, and refusal to pick up fares deemed not far enough, taking bad routes to fool people not familiar with the area, etc.

I will say on cabbie I was riding with, I asked him to hurry since I was in a rush to a wedding reception. He got me there earlier who by all accounts I should've been late driving through downtown traffic.

tempted to go on vacation with my friend and her sister in September
they have cheaper flights that are going from Toronto, to Hong Kong to Taiwan to Tokyo, all for 1 week stay each.
debating since the dollar is bad, but the tickets are super cheap (all places round trip is about 800$+tax), and i haven't been on vacation in two years now

but i'm basically activated on the transplant list now, so i risk missing out on a transplant if i do go for those three weeks

=/

When I got off at yonge/bloor to walk to work the station was so insanely fucking packed it was ridiculous. this is why there needs to be more mobility and acceptance in workplaces in terms of working from home.

do these fuckers really all need to be there? Probably not. Even I considered just staying home but the delay said cleared around the time I normally leave and I know I get off at bloor anyway. But man it was brutal.

Then this tall ass dude stands so fucking close to me my dick is basically touching him through my pants. Nothing is worse than clueless tall people. The only reason I didn't push him the fuck off me is because I knew it was crowded and it either that or wait forever. Normally I don't stand for the tall folk lumbering over me or with their arms hanging over my shoulder to hold something.

I am trying to make a push for a few work from home days at my office and the older management is having none of it despite the fact that we are over capacity on some days. Then they decided to cut back our sick days. Meh.

Pretty ridiculous. I'm glad I work for a large company where if you work in a position where it's feasible it doesn't really matter where you work. I still come in almost every day but it's funny, I'm way more productive at home.

I always felt it should be law there workplaces provide ONE day a week where employees MUST work from home (where it makes sense). I know a lot of places mandate that anyway but it's shocking how many don't and how much politics there is surrounding it. At least from what I hear when I read about others.

Your older management will realize that it's the way of the future, they'll cave eventually. Sad that they don't see the benefits.

Went to see a Star War last night. We got screwed by the TTC last night, no 510 streetcars for almost half an hour when it's supposed to be 10 minutes or less. Ended up walking to the nearest subway stop and we HATE walking in the snow.

Every time we go out for movie night, something goes wrong.

And yesterday, I got an unlabelled envelope in the mail, it was Rogers advertising their "Reliable Internet". Only days after the Teksavvy troubles.
Well played, Rogers.

I'm so glad my job here lets me work from home whenever I want lol. I still go into the office most of the week for visibility and networking though.
