There are some really nice and realistic craftable profession outfits in game. I think I like some of these more than I like the shop stuff. Looks more like something someone would wear in the game world

What do you mean? This is totally normal clothes.

Yeah I honestly don't like those outfits that much. A little too overdone for me.

My wallet is happy about this lol
I still want the one from the C.Creator for Sorceress and the scarf one for Ranger :(

As much as I enjoyed playing the beta, I had a lot of fun taking screenshots as well. Game can look really, really good with the settings maxed.

And as others have mentioned, it's really cool to see rain causing puddles and such and the day/night cycle really gives the game a lot of different looks.

I remember the last day on the beta, I was on a road surrounded with by a densee forest that didn't let me see the sky or outside the road (after the 3rd city, past an outpost) it was foggy and started raining like fuck (with lightning too). It was incredibly incredibly atmospheric.

I wish nights were longer, although I understand why they are that short. Also, a little more dark (even though it's still the MMO with probably the darkest nights I played).

pretty sure an admin said that the beta client is the retail client, so unless you weren't in the beta, you already have it :)

I had it but I uninstalled it -_- since in most MMO (At least that I played) you had to remove the beta client to download the retail figured this one would've been the same.

in the beta, people from the US were forced to play on EU servers. Some of those people couldn't believe they were playing on EU servers even when an admin said they were(because it didnt lag), so you might be good?

oh i see. i mean i feel you, it wasn't written anywhere on the website that said you would use the same client, the only reason i knew about it was because of an admin that wrote it in the chat :/

Oh cool, gives me some hope I guess. I still wish we'd get some oceanic recognition in the MMO field but I'll take what I can.

So a while back I heard the end game of this is abysmal. Has that changed? It looks good, but not sure how it plays.

There is no traditional end game in terms of instances or raids. Current end game is focused on open world gameplay like the gathering and tradecraft systems, PVP with castle sieges, node wars, etc. They are continuing to add other types of open world content like in the upcoming Valencia III update which will add maritime trading, naval combat, etc.

While they did add some open world PVE dungeons in the Korean version, regarding traditional instanced PVE content, they stated this in a recent interview:

Adventures and fierce guild wars in Black Desert are strongly established on an open-world system. Some special content might need to utilize an instance dungeon system, but we are not going to add a repetitive instanced dungeon, where the sole purpose is getting rewards. Guild- and party-centric raids are already implemented in the game now, and we are developing more advanced kind of raid.

They said the client would be released for people who need it a couple of days before early access so I'm guessing that would be at some point today or at the latest it would have to be Saturday.

It's still not Sunday guys. What's going on? Who do I gotta blow to get frozen until then?

Developers keep building all these beautiful MMO worlds with cultures, styles, etc. and then fills it with random costumes and other crap that looks completely out of place and people of course wears it constantly. :(

Pretty sure they tweeted out the client would be available today or tomorrow.

Oh when I installed it asked if I wanted NA or EU, naturally I picked EU but can I still play on NA server once it is ready to go?

I wanna join GAF guild.

I'd be interested in joining the GAF guild as well. I assume we'll have some details on which server etc in the OT ?

Isn't going to be an EU GAF guild? I'm not sure about playing in the US servers (with the worse connection, considering combat is more action focused).

Glad I took the time to try the game out, the first 30 minutes with miserable but after playing with the UI and getting my bearings together it got a lot better.

Picked up the traveler's edition and ready to go, guess all other games are on hold as i play this and division.

I ordered the game just now and I haven't gotten any information on name reservation, even though it says I have until tomorrow to claim a name.

The OT will be up this weekend.

You said there is a discord, right? How would one get in there? Planning on joining the gaf guild too

Also hoping the game doesn't try and use family name as your last name. Reserved Aadrian1234 so i can make different character names and still have friends recognize me

Family name is your last name, technically. I mean, all your characters are "under" it.

Quote my post for the discord channel link.

I've never played a sandboxy MMO so this'll be interesting.

Just go in without the preconceived thoughts of other MMO's. Some stuff will feel familiar, but remember you aren't going to have your hand held and set on a rails like most MMO's. Enjoy the experience, don't rush to 50 :)

I mean you can rush if you want to, but don't fear being left behind like in other MMO's and just enjoy the ride.

That's good advice. Expecting a certain type of MMO might set you up for disappointment as there isn't really anything out there which is exactly like Black Desert.

I'm just hoping I can get into that mentality. I feel like I would like that kind of game, but I'm afraid I'll just slowly turn into being competitive and I'll get all depressed.

I'm trying to go at this like a single player game that other people also inhabit.

I will be going into it like a single player game too, think that is the best way.

I am pretty confused by the whole housing/building/worker stuff at the moment but going to watch a couple of videos on the tube.

Family name is more like account name.

Woot got my email. Downloading now.

So Are we on Edan or Orwen for Gaf guild NA? And it seems the players on the forums over there are designating one of those the unofficial pvp server? Do we know which one yet?

Well I bought the Traveller pack...at 1600x900 on medium it still looks ok and I get a decent framerate...didnt join GAF for CBT2 because I was mainly playing on the Euro servers in French but will join you guys in N.A. on launch(or near it)...patching now.

What are your specs? Haven't played the beta, just trying to get a feel for how it will perform.

When I ran ''can you run it'' I was right on the limit of the recommended specs...

Intel(R) Core i7 CPU 870 @ 3.1GHz...GeForce GTX 660, 8 GB RAM.

Dang I forgot yesterday was the last day to pre order for the headstart.

Figured I could at least go to the usual sellers to get one ahead of launch but for the life of me can't find ANYWHERE to buy one, just closed beta keys (Which ar euseless now).
