He really REALLY hates PC gamers.
Not only this, but I'd also imagine we'll see some teething pains as software developers and nvidia/amd/intel work out the flaws in their DX12/Vulkan implementations.
I hope it all works out, but I'm content to wait it out. I won't upgrade and jump in until it all comes together instead of jumping in on the basis that it will get better. The limits on those games like Quantum Break are still too much for me unless there's a good sale price.
Game running buttery smooth in PvP after I disabled G-sync and set my refresh to 60hz. I'm assuming they'll get g-sync working soon since it does work in-game, but fucks up during the intro movies and loading screens. 60fps feels fine for Gears, anyway.

Seem to get matches instantly in TDM. Guess nobody is really trying anything else yet.

High settings preset + Highest textures are pretty much 60 fps on 980Ti in 2560x1600. The benchmark is running in cycles and you can't disable vsync so that's as high as it goes:
The game doesn't feel smooth in the campaign however as there are definitely hitches and slowdowns.

Activate the Game Bar (Win+G) during cutscenes and loading screens and it will run fine with G-Sync. But it has to be active (on screen) during a cutscene, just go with the mouse cursor over it so the Game Bar doesn't disappear again after a few seconds.

Thats disappointing. Really wanted to enjoy some gears MP as I've heard some amazing things about it.

AB works for everything which isn't fps/frametimes. Here's the benchmark running a couple of cycles:
It goes from ~50'ish to ~65% of load. So without vsync I'd probably be getting 90-120 fps if my CPU wouldn't become a bottleneck.

and thats maxed 1440p? ok perf is about where it should be relative to xbone

Seems fine on my 980Ti. Not smooth but playable. But as I was saying in the other thread the first level peaked out at 5.3GB of VRAM consumption - and I can see how this may be a problem for 4GB cards users. But that's with Highest textures which are a notch higher than what High preset is suggesting.

Do a Windows Store update. You need the one from November or it won't install/download.

This is hilarious but sad at the same time.
They don't give a shit about the games themselves and people's experiences. This is all just part of their bigger plan and they will relentlessly sacrifice any game in order to reach whatever goal it is that they have. They are making an effort to make things worse and more difficult for people than they need to be.
They're going to fall flat on their faces yet again once all is said and done.

Then your results are lower than what I'd expect from my GPU usage.
IS this a windows 10 update or a windows store update? Because trying to update windows 10 through "update and security" tab is not giving me anything.
My GPU usage was almost 100%.

It takes like 10 min or more to get into the main menu because all the videos run at less than half a framerate per second. I'll try your solution,thanks.What excatly doesn't work? Read my comment above (69), maybe it helps.

So for those who are still trying to run this game in gsync how are you even progressing? I have the following specs:
Intel 4970k
Nvidia GTX 980
16 GB RAM
Win 10
installed on an SSD
GSYNC monitor
I get to the Microsoft studios video and it goes by very slowly and just freezes and I can't advance. I have the latest Nvidia driver installed that was released today.

Turn off Gsync. It's causing issues in prerendered videos.

also, i am running smooth 60fps, flawless alt tabbing..and finding matches online.
