I fixed your ear, too.

Putting your skills to good work.
No shit: I'm actually a currently unemployed media designer. Or as I like to call it: Professional Photoshopper (I wasn't kidding when I said it earlier in this thread).
Doing shit like this is peanuts to me. :)

EDIT: Just for reference, here are all the avatars I made so far in chronological order (no time skip required):

Just posting these since I really can't keep up who already took theirs and who didn't. And to show off. Yeah, mostly to show off.

haha, tried one with eybrows myself but thought it was funnier if the eyes pop out of the mask. You obviously got this though, great job with the avatars. I yield the floor ;)

Dude, your work is awesome, too. Also I am not awake 24/7.
My guess is that you are not from a European country (correct me if I'm wrong) so you can basically do the "night shift" (from my point of view). You're obviously talented.

Thanks, but you're doing a really great job! That night-shift thing might not work out…
Du kommst aus Deutschland, oder? Bin selber Deutscher und wir sind beide wohl grob zur selben Zeit wach ;)

Whaaat, hätte dich echt nicht als Deutschen eingeschätzt :D

Guess that's it for the night shift, then.

It isn't though. It explained this. The timeline where Junpei solves the puzzle is the one that had to happen to be able to have her survive from before. She gets the fevers because some events could be wrong and could result in her death from the incinerator.

But that doesn't make sense.

She can't be alive and around you while you are making the decisions about what will save her and simultaneously Seven clearly remembers that Akane died.

I don't think the Zero Escape series treats time like Back to the Future, where changing things will cause people to fade away in front of your eyes or seeing pictures change as the past is changed. Seven clearly remembers that Akane died. So how is she alive while Seven simultaneously remembers that she died?

Probably little over 24 hours until trailer time! (since it's in Japan time, that would be the 16th for us)

I completely forgot about the time difference. I need this trailer now. :| Hopefully by the time I wake up tomorrow the trailer will have already launched. I remember when the VLR trailer launched, I screamed and watched it nearly two hundred times...

He's lying; simple as that. Uchikoshi said that if he had put this in the game, people would get confused so he didn't.
You can also think that his memories were altered.

That feels like a bit of handwaving from the creator's part, if that is the case. It seems like it would have been better for Seven to have a legitimate reason to think she died. Perhaps Junpei helps her escape before the incinerator goes off, and Seven believes she was still in there. From there, they'd have to make up some way for Akane to escape on her own, which might be hard to explain. Perhaps she escapes with one of the Cradle employees that isn't a complete monster, I don't know.

Really think there were things in the first game that tried to hard to explain things that didn't need to since the story worked fine with
all the timelines being "real" and not "failures". All coming from the split where she lived even for ones that didn't led to her being saved since she was in the past scanning possible timelines for the info to save herself. Game didn't even need the fever stuff. The fact that she pulled the info from one timeline to facilitate the timeline where she is "saved" made it so that timeline had to have happened anyway with her living in it.

See, she escaped that ship and saw through Junpei's eyes everything that happened to him so that he could save her. That would include Seven lying to him. Does that lie really matter anyway? Maybe not, but Lotus' presence in the game also doesn't matter except for the computer room.

She did it that way because she knew that with those variables in place Junpei would certainly save her. That's why she, at some point, asked Seven and Snake to lie to Junpei.

This is by no means explicit in the game but Uchikoshi hints at that, and I don't see why it wouldn't make sense.

This would mean that Seven never had amnesia and was faking it the whole time or something. I suppose that is plausible, but in that case, he should have made his motives clear at the end of the game. In that case, it seems like it would make more sense that Junpei was saving a different Akane from a different timeline, and that Akane grows up to help do the same for a different young Akane. Almost like an infinite chain of timelines having a different Junpei save a different Akane. Perhaps it would make sense if there was a different timeline in the game where Akane wasn't present at all. This would be the timeline where she really did die, and Santa and Seven worked together to save her in different timelines. Kind of like how time is represented in VLR.

There's a small hint at the very end pointing towards Seven's intentions through the game.
And I don't think it needs different timelines.

Young Akane gets saved by Future Junpei
She grows up to be Future Akane
Her Future Junpei fucks up and acts differently, creates a paradox
Young Akane dies in the past, which makes Future Akane cease to exist
Somehow the Nonary Game is still there

It's a paradox, it doesn't have to make sense. It was just the way he presented the concept.

too much hidden text!

I get that time altering will pretty much always have some strange paradoxes. Seems like it could have been avoided if Santa and Seven created a Notary Game with Akane actually dead. Doing this would change the future in a different time line, and that Akane would grow up to recreate the same situation so that a different Akane could be saved. It would be a sort of infinite-recursion of notary-games.

sorry, couldn't resist. he's probably the nicest guy in the game.

"An ice cream shop clerk. He is naturally cheerful, but has a temper as soon as he falls into a crisis."

Hmm, while I do think he will be nice his character bio leads me to believe he'll go psycho and use the shotgun to kill us all :p
kind of like how Clover did with the axe...

Just realized ive had this game preordered since last July. Is there an idea of a release date yet?
Unfortunately no, however the trailer may change that! :D

Okay, it took me some time but I finally get you now! It would make more sense taking VLR's ideas into consideration (and maybe it would be even cooler).

Yup, everyone keeps mentioning the word 'psycho' from the teaser when talking about Eric and his bio reads like he will flip out sometime during the game. So maybe the twist is that he's the nicest guy ever and just likes selling ice cream.
/jk, he's totally gonna murder everyone :p

Who is more likely to snap and go crazy, forgetting their usual calm demeanor?

Eric or Diana.

My money is definitely on Eric.
Diana will be a sweetie pie like Luna. :p

who's holding the gun on the cover pic? sure don't look like an icecream man =P

Eric, uh, Eric is a drag queen too. Yeah, that's right... :p

We can't see Diana's face in the photo so maybe she is very sad about having to kill Sigma. Somebody is forcing her.

Luna makes me have too much faith in Diana.

I definitely think Carlos will also go crazy, I'm thinking he will likely be the first to. Given the stress of the nonary game, his sister, and the fate of the world on his shoulders I'm pretty sure that strong heroic firefighter demeanor will vanish quickly.

I do not think Diana will be psycho though, pretty sure she'll always be nice. I can't wait for this game, I'm really curious to see how the whole "choose who dies" plays out since the main playable characters are Q, Carlos, and Diana. I'm pretty sure I know who the first three I want to live are and the game play mechanics will possibly hinder that outcome (assuming there will still be multiple endings). :p

Just read the plot synopsis of 6 deaths needed for the 6 passwords and have already selected the 3 I'm pushing to survive. This game has turned to dangonronpa and I can't wait for the trailer.

I think it would have allowed for Akane to not come off as such a damsel in distress in 999 as well. I think that is one of my biggest complaints about the game. Akane is just made to be so weak and powerless . I like how Phi was made as a character much more by comparison.

I'm thinking
Diana will start out sweet and nice BUT turn psycho... and THAT is why Sigma creates Luna, who is like Diana but just an absolute sweetie pie.
In Diana's profile it said she was a nurse - I'm sure Luna had some nurse training in VLR
I agree somebody is forcing Diana to point a gun at Sigma in that promo art
