Wii u owners (launch especially) who are going to buy the new conse at launch are nuts. Nintendo would have to have a crazy promotion where I can have all my virtual console library readily available for free and some other stuff like digital download promotion or whatever. Otherwise I'll wait this time. Still have quite a few games on Wii u I haven't completed.
Well, that's what the most recent direct was for, don't ya think? .
So what's that, 3-4 years of wii u support. So much confidence in your products Nintendo.
You do realize the the the console manufacturing halting doesn't stop game development right? They are two different things.
Nintendo is not going to simply scrap Zelda U which has been in development for few years because no more Wii U consoles are being made.
Uhhh...Neo Geo software lasted for 14 years.

Sure, but the Wii U version is officially an afterthought now and we all know it.

Pretty much guaranteed that it's been developed to run on the Wii U, and the Wii U first. They wouldn't throw out everything they had on Wii U specs for new NX assets, environments, etc. and release it at launch. Just like how Twilight Princess could have had better assets and such if it had been developed from the ground up on Wii, rather than GameCube and being quickly ported to the Wii.
Umm.... yeah? Nintendo has competent hardware and software developers. They could definitely come up with a decent BC solution if they wanted to. It could literally be as simple as including the Wii U CPU as a compatibility chip.
Would be so nice, but I doubt it as well. They have they have a track record of our digital purchases, but I doubt it as well. At least it would influence my thoughts on the new console since I have quite a number of virtual console titles.Doubt it. The NX is a fresh start. Which, unfortunately, means new VC and digital library. And that fucking sucks, but like the switch from PS3 to PS4, it's necessary because of the architecture switch.
Would be nice if they honored those digital purchases tho.
So those that bought a Wii U, are you happy with what you got? Are you happy with the 4 year production cycle of the console?
Game Boy Color got 2 years. GBA got 3. SNES was intended to be replaced after 4.
I think people just forgot how long the Wii U has actually been out.
DS was initially meant to be just a third pillar platform, but it became a de facto successor over time.
Nope. They clearly stated those were for games planned to be released between now and the end of the summer.
NX must be backward compatible, right? Super Mario Maker needs to keep going.

What if the Wii U is actually part of the NX family of systems? This is all just a theory, but some rumors I've seen suggest that NX isn't a specific console, but rather a baseline OS that runs on different form factors, like iOS or Android. If that's the case, it's possible that NX could run on the Wii U as well.
Just something I've been thinking about.
I'm extremely happy with the system and am totally fine with the amount of high-quality exclusives it has.So those that bought a Wii U, are you happy with what you got? Are you happy with the 4 year production cycle of the console?
We knew Wii U support was dead when Iwata made the panic Nintendo Direct less than 2 months after its launch.Sorry, Wii U owners holding out hope for support. If only you had never been able to afford one, like me
If Zelda had come out i would've robbed a bank for one
The general public wants to play games where you shoot and/or slice dudes and that's not what Nintendo offers, basically.
Nintendo is stuck in this bad place where what they make doesn't sell and to make products that sell involves changing what makes Nintendo unique.

I bet PLENTY money its being downported on Wii U now. The official released screens are in 1080 P. Unless they got that thang on Wii U at 1080P then no. Something more powerful than Wii U is what its being run on.Pretty much guaranteed that it's been developed to run on the Wii U, and the Wii U first. If Zelda U is ported to the NX, the Wii U won't have had a new and original Zelda game. No 3D Mario game either, unless you count Super Mario 3D World.
If you bought a PS4 on day one you knew what was coming. Eventually you would get Uncharted 4, The Last of Us 2, Gran Turismo 7 and The Last Guardian.
If you bought an Xbox One you knew Halo 5, Forza and Gears of War were coming.
I can't believe that a massive technology company like Nintendo can fail to market a console efficiently. It's been scatter brained since day one and after 4 years I still haven't seen a single TV advert for the console in the UK.
Are you saying you'll commit suicide if Nintendo doesn't make consoles any more?NX better not bomb. A world without Nintendo consoles is not one I want to be part of.
