Have had the 6+ for about a year now with Tmobile. Preordered the SE 64GB and it's going to lower my phone payment by about $10 a month. I have a love/hate with the 6+ but I think I'm going to enjoy going back to a "normal" sized phone.

Does this have the band in it to make T-Mobile work better in buildings? I'm still on the 6 and this is looking like a good upgrade.

So I went to Tmobile and asked how much it would be, I have class D credit so the down payment would be $150 and $10.41 each month, I was asking If I could get tmobile jump on demand because I want the i7 when it comes out later this year.

Right now I have a terrible Virgin Mobile phone thats screwed up and right now pay almost $40 a month for some bad service

Small phones make me sad.

Wish they had kept pushing the boundaries in screen size so we eventually get to the 7" phone which is prolly the practical upper limit.

This iPhone isn't part of their normal yearly cycle. You can still count on seeing iPhone 7 in September, and then maybe you'll see an even larger screen than the 6S.

Which would be literally insane, but hey, it's your money.

i have a 5s and prefer the small form factor but i wish they had redesigned the case. the 5s is not comfortable to hold naked...(for me)

Just bought that Moga case as well since the Logitech case has terrible reviews. They also have battery pack cases for the $12. Any other great iPhone 5 accessories to look out for? (Potentially on clearance?) maybe a typo case, but I couldn't find a cheap one cause of the whole blackberry lawsuit.

Before I had an iPhone, I absolutely loved the design of the iPhone 5/5s and just plain associated an iPhone with that design. Since entering iPhone land with the 6, I'm pretty sure my "upgrade" this year is going to be the SE. Can't wait!

Plus, that price. Gonna lower my wife and I's phone bill by being able to buy these outright.

So the Pawn Hunt did not go too shabby! Lowest I got offered was 150, and then I got offered 450. I was about to close the deal, but then he caught that he was comparing it to the Plus instead of the 6 (I was very upfront, and told them to search by model number in settings). Eventually, the last place I went to gave me an offer good until tomorrow, which I found acceptable, but I did send return PMs for those that PMed me earlier with various offers.

So this is a last call for GAF, otherwise I am taking it to Pawn.

GSM Factory Unlocked iPhone 6 Space Gray 64 GB with original AC adapter and lightning cable with AppleCare+ good until September of this year (Swap it out for a refurb get the battery replaced, ETC):

325 USD SHIPPED USPS Priority

Battery IS dying a bit, so I am actually getting it serviced at the Apple Store Tomorrow with a swap out/fresh battery. POS have been sent, but if anyone else is interested, just let me know. if not, I am taking their offer. I just don't wanna deal with Glyde/eBay fees.

Posted pics of it here.

Update: SOLD

Would you be willing to ship to Canada? If so it's a done deal. Just let me know.

Really? Do elaborate on what you can't do on an SE screen that you can do on a 6S. (Besides selfie quality which doesn't matter in the slightest)

Notice I didn't mention any specific phone? In my experience, which was coming from a few months using a Nexus 6P and then moving to a 4.5' screen, I felt that a lot of tasks are better on a bigger screen. Even browsing NeoGAF on a smaller screen feels super jarring once you get used to some more screen state. Another thing that felt terrible was browsing my music library, since I can see more albums and songs at the bigger screen at any given time. Not to mention the obvious things like looking at pictures and watching videos. The only thing that is unquestionably better is being able to use the phone one handled with ease, but I found out I'd rather sacrifice that and have a larger screen.

I'm sure the SE will fill a nice gap in the market, specially if you still own a phone of the same size and are happy with it, but I feel that to me there is no going back to any screen smaller than 5'. That's why I wrote the other post. I'm sure other people will find the transition is not as satisfying as they think it will be. So maybe go ahead and try it first.

I sold my 6! Now, just less than a week until I get my hands on my precious little SE.

So, let's bump the thread with the latest joy of tech. Read it out loud if you want some giggles. :3

What color are y'all going with? I might go with silver but my wife's gold iPhone 5s is mighty fine.

From all the vids I've seen, Gold is not a bad choice because it looks great with the white rear glass and the matte chamfered edges make it look even nicer than its 5S debut. I got a 64GB Space Gray, but if you are getting a white phone...

GOLD IS BEST!

I'm going to get the sim-free silver SE from Apple. I'm keeping my 6 and I'll be using the SE for when I'm out jogging/cycling. SE is the perfect size but I'm afraid if I go all in I might regret it. I've gotten too used to the size of the 6.

One thing I've been wondering.

Did Apple move the conference to the day before the FBI hearing thing?
Did Apple plan the release date of the iPhone SE/iPad Pro to the same day as the Tesla Model 3 conference?

I think so. It's normally Friday's for preorders and releases. Normally. I think they did a Wednesday before.

Thoughts?

So, this may not be the best place to ask, but I didn't want to make a new thread and didn't know where else to go.

T-Mobile is offering $205 for my 128gb Silver iPhone 6. I did the trade-in in the wrong order, however. I was unaware I had to do the trade-in before ordering the SE. So, I'd have to call CS, which isn't a huge deal.

I'm looking at resell values on Craigslist and eBay and they're way, way higher. I'd obviously have cash left over to use for other things, which is great! I contacted T-Mobile and they said I'd have to pay off the remaining balance before be able to unlock the phone, which is fine.

My question is: would I be able to sell it outright as a T-Mobile iPhone or would I run into some legal problems? I'd rather have the money up front to pay it off, but paying it off isn't a big deal beforehand either.

I've had the 6s for a while now and I'm happy with everything - except size. Would have immediately sold it off if they just would have included 3D touch in the SE.

So today, I spent the entire day with my 6 in Zoom mode.

I don't find myself or my workflow being hindered at all due to the slightly smaller workspace, and it feels great to be able to use all my old wallpapers again.

For those on the fence, try zoom mode and see if you can go back.

This only simulates the 5/5S/SE display if you have the 6/6S.

The 6 Plus/6S Plus in Zoomed mode simulates the 6/6S display.

I was dead set on this but now I'm not so sure. Been rocking an iPhone 4 since 2011 and the SE felt like the perfect upgrade.

But there are a couple of features that didn't carry over from the 6S. The front camera is still only 1.3 megapixels and has a smaller aperture. The touch ID sensor is the slower first gen version.

And then looking at the price tag, the value just isn't there for a 4 inch phone.

A 5 inch phone is not that cumbersome and something I think I could get used to. I've been able to use my brother's iPhone 6 without any hassle.

After a lot of reading and YouTube reviews I think I'll go with the Galaxy S7. It has what looks like the best smartphone camera with image stabilisation and full manual control and really fast focus, a really nice wide angle front camera, a bigger AMOLED screen, more RAM and a faster processor. There's so much to Android but I figure if I'm this particular about phones I'll take the time to learn. I just have to think of it as a small laptop rather than a phone.

Ordered mine today, was going to get it outright for ~$830AU outright but couldn't justify it. So getting a silver 64GB to replace my 32GB 5S for a pissy $82/month for 2 years with Telstra.

More getting it for the extra storage than anything else, but the upgraded camera will be most welcome.

By the way, if anyone is in the market for a iPhone gamepad all those attachments that once retailed for $100 are now a fraction of that.

Logitech Powershell - $9.48

81NuzRs1QuL._SL1500_.jpg

MOGA Power Series iOS Mobile Game Controller - $11.41

I bought the logitech one for about 30$ when I was still using my 5 and it is one of the worst controllers ever. The d pad is terrible. Get something else for sure. I can't even recommend it for 10 bucks.

back on topic: Glad they did this smaller phone. I know a fair few people who held on to their 5s after 6s launched who are now getting this. Just wish there was a 128GB option.

Yeah, but a large android phone is much more capable than a large iPhone. iPhone can't multitask, no picture in picture, etc. no real software reason to have the larger screen.

has anybody used/ bought a Elago case ? looked at Amazon and has mixed reviews some cases it damages edges of phones and that its cheap material that breaks easily . But I really like the colors, they look good.

Anybody has experience with these cases ?

The only thing keeping me from upgrading is the lesser-quality front-facing camera, and the worse display. My iPhone 5 takes awful pictures in low-light with the front facing camera, and I don't really want a new phone takes such poor quality low light pictures with the front facing camera. My iPhone 6 took far better low-light pictures with its front facing camera, and I got that phone in 2014. To buy a new phone from Apple in 2016 and have crappy low-light photos with that camera would be super lame.

Not to mention a crappier display. Sigh. I don't care about the older Touch ID tech, but those two things are substantial issues for me.

Contrast will be slightly lower but in my side-by-side experience with my old 5 and my 6 the visible difference in screen quality is pretty negligible.

I wonder if it's worth it upgrading my iPhone 6 to an iPhone SE. Smaller screen and the iPhone 5 design is neat but I'm worried about the lack of a barometer; isn't that the one that counts your steps?

The barometer measures elevation, so for instance, it can better tell when you're climbing stairs. Doesn't affect basic step-counting.

Really? I always felt the display on my 6 looked quite a bit better than my 5.

Isn't low-light performance more affected by aperture size? The SE has the same aperture size as the 5 if I'm not mistaken. But I'm not super knowledgeable about that sort of thing so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The iPhone 5 front-facing camera is just dreadful in my opinion.

Low-light performance is affected by several factors - aperture width, shutter speed, and sensor all play a role. A wider aperture lets more light in, yes, so the 6 will get better results than the 5S. But the 5S also has a larger sensor than the 5, so more light can hit each pixel and you get less noise in low-light compared to the 5.

The 6 display is definitely better, particularly with contrast, but how much better is probably a judgment call. They're both 326PPI and they're both very well calibrated full-sRGB displays. There's also a panel lottery as with any LCD, some screens may have better or worse characteristics than others even among the same phone.

I thought the 5s and 6 have the same size aperture? I knew that several factors affected it, but I figured aperture size may be the most important. Again, I'm not sure though.

True. But every 6 and 6's display I've seen has looked noticeably better than my 5. I think it's the contrast ratio, for one thing at least.

For the front camera, the iPhone 5 and 5S (and the SE, for that matter) have a f/2.4 aperture, whereas the 6 has f/2.2.

Think the SE's front camera is from the 5, the aperture is listed as 2.4 (thus worse) and the 5S and higher had ones with 2.2.
