These mods done by one person outclassing Capcom is sad and hilarious at the same goddamn time.

That mod alex looks cool and all but the official version is better looking. Third Strike Alex clothes don't look great on SFV Alex. Proportions are all wrong. He looks better with his default.

I want that Ken though.

I'm asking if you're referring to he model used in the mod. It was made from scratch and used in an older mod as Alex over Abel in SF4. Hes essentially porting it to SFV
Oh I see, thought it was the same model. But anyway the Capcom version looks like a Hulk:

Rip Urien, you will look like terrible. Time to pick up the PC version so I can get classic Urien.

So how is Alex coming out in less than a day, and there's no trailer for him? Or did I miss that as I really don't keep up with SF5 news at all. I know I would have at least seen a brand new thread here if that were the case.

How sad is it that a modder has done a far better job at creating Alex in their own engine, in their own game, before the character is even released.

SF5 Alex is ugly. Not SF5 Ken-ugly, as no one else in the game is touching him, but ugly regardless. His hair is way off, adding to how bad he looks to me. At least he's faithful to the OG Alex otherwise though.

Couldn't disagree more. The fan mod looks a thousand times better, clothes, proportions and all.

Why do Alex's legs face away from the opponent? Who fights like that?

SF has always had the funky legs.

Man I hate rage quitters I m currently a super bronze Mika and was about to beat a silver Ryu and the son of a cricket quit when I was about to win 😤

ryu is the same

I know it's been this way forever, but this actually bothered me in SFV. I thought it was time to update it a little. Keep the classic stance. Just don't make it look so awkward looking because he's suppose to be fighting someone and it's not natural to stand that way. Really all I wanted was for his legs and feet to be facing more diagonally forward instead of sideways(with the back foot slightly backwards).

God damn it. I'm so salty.

Game is matching me up with people 3 - 4 ranks above me, 3 games in a row.

3 games in a row I go in assuming I'm going to get my ass kicked by these high ranked people.
3 games in a row, I do surprisingly well.
3 games in a row it comes down to the final round, final hit for each of us.
3 games in a row, I'm on the losing end.

It's so infuriating to come so god damn close to overcoming the odds stacked against me and to have my hopes dashed.

He needs to keep his legs facing the other way so he can crouch for the low-hitting kicks. That cr.MK doesn't just appear out of nowhere, you know.

Like something closer to this?

Now I've been sufficiently ranked down to where I'm playing shoryuken spamming Ken shoto-scrubs again... and the first one I beat rage quite on me.

It was your bad at this point. It was as barebones as possible, no audio commentary, the editing is amateur, and there's really not even aesthetically appropriate text formatting. Do not expect anything above the bare minimum moving forward regarding this game. I think people are fine with them in the sense that "ok, we get it, this is how it's gonna be, at least I get free fight money by skipping this garbage." I don't think anybody really thinks they're of any value otherwise, I mean they don't even mention Cammy's hooligan, much less subtleties like normals, ideal punishes/punish ranges, etc.

At least the trials for some characters will give a beginner some idea of what is possible.

Yeah, I mean I get that aspect of it but it still sucks. I was hoping it would give me, as an intermediate player, a little more insight than watching a video would (because I expected them to be *playable*). I guess I'm not upset for me (well maybe a little) but more so for that hypothetical noob who could have benefited from good tutorials.

Trailer mite go up on release not that we jeed one @.@
Also anyone make a dio brando skin for alex yet?

The whole point of DLC characters year long is to keep interest high toward the game, yet they can't be arsed to actually do a trailer to accomplish said goal.

Wow. I'm so bad at this game I can't even pull off the timing for challenges. Like I can't even win against a CPU that just stands there. :(

They may have a trailer ready, but Capcom Japan's marketing team is probably the one calling the shots on when/where to announce/show things, and they are probably the ones holding it back. The US & UK PR teams are soooo quiet right now, and I feel like that is partially because they can't answer the questions being asked them in regards to DLC & Updates & when to expect marketing material.

What are you having trouble with? Sometimes, its the timing of a particular mechanic that throws you off. For example, cancel timing and hit confirm timing can be different, depending on the move/combo.

I was having trouble with Cammy trial 10 because I kept trying to get the first hit of Spiral Arrow to xx (cancel) into the super. Turned out, I could just throw the super out after I did the full hit of the spiral arrow. Either way would've worked, but the hit confirm timing is way easier than trying to do the cancel.

I can't even do challenge #1 of R. Mika. I can hit all of those moves in a row but it doesn't count the way I'm doing it.

Man they really screwed up Alex's look. Those strands of hair need to come over the top of the bandana, not under. He looks like a jackass. Also his hair is too high. Come on now

The game is out AND almost no one cares about it. An Alex trailer won't sell more copies at this point, only the people that already have the game care about the update.

This sounds more like GAF wishful thinking than anything based on reality.

Final Round had nearly 100K viewers, NCR just had nearly 90K temporarily kicking LOL of the top twitch spot...which almost NEVER happens.

We have people HACKING THE GAME TO MAKE THEIR OWN DAMN TRAILERS for a character that's not even out yet.

There is definitely interest in this game still.

Street Fighter 5 is a game built to have legs. Even if it has a rough start in terms of sales, it's not going anywhere. They've designed it to have LOTS of exposure all year round thanks to CPT and the rolling content schedule, and exposure leads to sales. Just like all the other SF games, 5 is going to grow over time.

I'm not sure this type of tutorial content was what I was looking for.

The demonstrations explain a very small selection of mechanics for each character and then the trials are "Do these difficult five move combos."

What about things like "Let's slowly go through what Ryu does in various situations like being attacked from the air, getting up from being knocked down, some basic and easy to do combos and when to use them, how to best initiate, what type of counters are good to use, etc".

I have to work hard for wins and I just lost because crazy lag. Menu wouldn't even load to move to the next screen was so bad that match. 😑

Yeah that's more what I was hoping for too. As is its just complicated combo moves that you could practice on your own in training mode :/

100K viewers ... even if we admitted that none of these viewers already have the game and that they all want to buy it after seeing the tournament, the game would still be faaaaaar behind Capcom's objective of 2 million copies sold.

For stuff like that ull find it in other fg series' trials like arc sys' games
Sf games' trials were always combo stuff

I'm in the same boat with needing to learn stuff like that. Unfortunately, SFIV also had poor tutorial / combo training if I recall correctly.

I seem to recall hearing Skullgirls had decent tutorial(s).
