Says the people who are being on purpose completely and utterly obtuse.

"Taking classified information off a Government server to a unsecured private server is totally A-OK, nobody would ever go to prison for this ever, go hill dog, she did nothing wrong"

You are being fucking morons. This would land any other worker in prison. You do realize taking classified information off a government server is a FEDERAL CRIME right?

why would that land you in jail though?

Isn't it possible that some of those 126k voters would have voted for Clinton and resulted in a similar ebding anyway? It's entirely possible that Clinton is just more popular than Sanders. She does well with older people who vote more and has a decent to good following in other large votingn demographics.

In all likelihood given her overwhelming numbers in NYC, she would've done better with those votes than without

Alright then. I'll even gift the 126K voters removed from NY.

A) Sanders still loses the state.

B) What about the 3 million other votes Hillary has over him then?

Well first of all none of the information she sent was originally classified. Should she have been using a more secure email? Yes, but this was common practice for years up until John Kerry.
Please tell me where you've ever had experience in this field?

Guess who has?

So explain exactly what Clinton has done that would land her in jail?

So how about that new Captain America movie, everybody? Can't wait to see Black Panther on the big screen for the first time ever, mixing it up with Spider-Man, and Ant-Man, all the great Marvel heroes. It's gonna be the feel-good family movie of the summer, I can't wait.

Okay. Cool. If you're fine with some posters telling others not to vote and they don't deserve to just because they don't agree with your views then I don't know what to say.

Considering you're advocating for anarchy, I can confidently say people like you should be suppressed - yes. You are openly admitting that you want things to get very bad for many people for no reason whatsoever, and even if you had a reason, you'd still be arguing for the detriment of civilization.

There is no defending that. Even people voting for Trump or Cruz believe that there is a benefit to their presidency, one that helps them. But you? You just don't give a shit about anything and advocate for destruction. You should not vote.

He didn't win because all of the rigging. 126k+ people have their registration changed in New York's closed election. Bernie never under performs, so when he did in New York it shot off a bunch of red flags. We had a lawsuit to switch it to an open primary, but we lost that.

I'm young, but I've seen time and time again how the system is rigged to go against the will of the people. It all starts with recognizing these parties as private entities and then process of funding elections.

So... How many of the 3 million lead can we attribute to the 'rigged system'?

Or is it time to blame 'low information' voters again? That's my favorite.

Man I hear the airport scene is amazing. Can't wait.

I really don't know. He has the momentum from the few delegates he won in Rhode Island. What is he thinking? Just because Clinton won her expected states doesn't mean that he should just quit! She won what she expected. On the other hand, Sanders unexpectedly won Rhode Island. He NEEDS to ride this out to California because if the trend continues, he's going to flip that state in his favor and win 90/10. Conceding now would be pointless when he knows very well that he has a better shot at clinching the nomination than Clinton. Don't let those god damned neoliberal shills get to you, Sanders. :/

I was hoping that the 90/10 victory margin for California would have given it away.

The 90/10 only works when you know how implausible it is. Valiant attempt though.

Bernie has had an easy time with the both Hillary and the media. He would have crumbled if he had as much pressure Hillary has had to deal with.

Also there isn't much to attack with his policies considering how unsubstantial they are. They are more like platitudes more than policies.

Never debate with a magician. His "policies" are basically magic beans.

You don't think I know that retard?

Notice how I said "RICH AND POWERFUL PERSON"

This is just another case as the rich getting a free card that would send anybody else to Jail in an instant.

Fucking hell have any of you ever seen the fucking paper work you have to sign to get access too this stuff? NO, that's right, guess who has, guess who's had to deal with them, guess who has worked with this before.

jesus fucking christ.

If you think this isn't a serious issue and she isn't just getting off because shes hillary clinton, like rice and whatever got off because they are rich and powerful people, you are crazy.

SWIM had co workers have to go to court for taking a fucking SMARTPHONE into the building.

Psy-ay-ay!

Foiled again.

But seriously, let's go back to climate change. I would like to get a response on the Clintons' relationship with the subject. I've yet to have a single poster tackle that when confronted with her policy propositions and the foundation's history.

Well I am sure that absolutely no-one was surprised by that ban

Psyduck uses Emailgate confusion!

It's not very effective...

I have plenty of political knowledge. It's why I don't ever post in political threads; they're a shitshow. But I just wanted to make clear: Hillary Clinton is not in any danger from this email server thing, no matter how much people like you want to make it an issue.

She didn't even do anything. Her staffers did. The sent redacted and truncated documents, some of which were classified after the fact, to a private server for the purposes of being informed on certain issues which, as SoS, is essential. It's not even clear she even knew about it. And as others in this thread have pointed out, people in her position in the past have done similar things without consequence, so the precedent is already established. Actual politicians have teams of people working under them that fill office buildings. It's not some kind of shady conspiracy theory.

I can't fucking wait until after the election. I hate Donald Trump and I hate Bernie Sanders and I really hate their supporters and what they represent. This obnoxious "anti-establishment" bullshit is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen. If you can unironically say that you'd vote for Trump if you can't vote for Bernie I have no respect for you. None.

On certain things certainly, not on others.

Coming off of the back of the financial collapse, that essentially crippled, rocked and fucked the entire world, and where fuck all has been done to actually change things or prevent them from happening again, Hillary on the Democratic side, is one of the people I have the least amount of faith to rectify the issues lending to it, and the economic corruption and fraud entailed.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/money...ulators-reject-5-banks-living-wills/82980038/

U.S. regulators told five of America's biggest banks Wednesday that they must beef up their existing "living wills" -- plans designed to ensure banks can survive bankruptcy without help from taxpayers -- by Oct. 1 or face more stringent regulatory sanctions.

Regulators gave the five banks until Oct. 1 to submit revised living wills. If any of the banks fail to provide adequate fixes to their living wills, regulators warned that they could levy additional sanctions, such as requiring higher capital requirements, more stringent limits on leverage and liquidity, as well as restrictions on growth and other firm activities.

The goal of the so-called living wills is for so-called "systemically important" banks to "prepare resolution plans ... for the rapid and orderly resolution in the event of material distress" without having to resort to a government bailout or sparking a financial crisis.

Uh huh

I love it that me speaking the truth upsets so many people on here

Just stop. Seriously, I'm not even going to bother trying to "debate" with you.

Buy a poli sci textbook, get off twitter, research past elections and political trends and policy making.

Then get back to me.

I love it that me speaking the truth upsets so many people on here

so, like, where'd you speak the truth?

because the "120K people were disenfranchised" bit you typed, which that long groaning post is responding to, is at best incomplete (given that it encompasses Brooklyn where Clinton won 60-40) and at worst, blatantly wrong (given that you're assuming 100% turnout)

but whatever. you have six months to realize that no, it wasn't rigged at all, a majority of people eligible to vote in the democratic primary process just didn't like him enough

Even if you accept it as fact that those 120 thousand people would have all voted for Bernie.

He still loses NY, and is still down over 3M votes.

This is a quality thread.

This is somewhat on-topic since people started talking about the Clintons' work on environmental issues, but since it's looking more and more like Hillary will be president, let me ask people with more knowledge on her positions what exactly her stance on fracking is? I've heard she's in favor of it which is one of the few things I've heard of hers that I'm not really in favor of so I'm wondering if there's something more specific/nuanced that I'm missing and if it's just typical election hyperbole

basically, her stance is in favor of fracking as a 'bridging' source of energy, highly regulated, while renewables continue to improve and while coal continues to be drawn down

her mindset's basically "fracking is ultimately less bad than coal in the short run in terms of emissions and other environmental impacts"

Its complicated. She's less hard on fracking than I'd like, which isn't great, but she also isn't gung ho "yes lets frack it all!"

Hillary Clinton, though, needed more time to outline three conditions in a more nuanced answer on fracking. She's against it "when any locality or any state is against it," "when the release of methane or contamination of water is present," and "unless we can require that anybody who fracks has to tell us exactly what chemicals they are using."

Until those conditions are met, "we've got to regulate everything that is currently underway, and we have to have a system in place that prevents further fracking."

"By the time we get through all of my conditions, I do not think there will be many places in America where fracking will continue to take place," she added.

"By the time we get through all of my conditions, I do not think there will be many places in America where fracking will continue to take place."
Clinton offered qualified support for fracking well before Sanders even registered in the presidential race. Addressing the National Clean Energy Summit in 2014, Clinton said, "we have to face head-on the legitimate, pressing environmental concerns about some new extraction practices and their impacts on local water, soil, and air supplies. Methane leaks in the production and transportation of natural gas are particularly troubling. So it's crucial that we put in place smart regulations and enforce them, including deciding not to drill when the risks are too high."

Hear, hear. Sadly, that HuffPo op-ed that ran this morning will only continue to push the email garbage instead a candidate's actual plan.

Clinton is destroying Sanders in the popular vote, she is the fucking will of the people.

Yes, but all 3M of those votes are people in cities, or from the south, or the north, or women, or other people that don't count, so they're really tied because of momentum.

Reading some of the FB posts or shit on reddit sometimes is olympic level mental gymnastics.

These are not things that would necessarily prevent the same shit from happening, they just require that there be more adequate fallout for when they do. All that'd happen if this were actually properly implemented, is that banks would have a greater reserve to ensure they didn't go bankrupt, not that they didn't commit or profit from fraud, skewing the market, covering up or masking the volatility of certain bonds, CMBS's, CLO's, BoT's (sort of the new name for CDO's) etc. In other words, they continue doing similar shit and getting massively rich off of it, it leads to another market collapse or contraction, they cover themselves from it and are better shielded, everyone else suffers, but then when things essentially refresh, they profit from the cycle all over again.

Don't campaigns usually incur significant debts, particularly national campaigns? How much is actually available?

Wasn't Clinton in debt over 10million years afterward?

Clinton didn't pay off her debt from her 2008 run until the end of 2013. But she loaned her campaign a lot of money, i don't Bernie has done that

As a liberal, I can't wait to be able to vote for either a centrist, right of center candidate or an extreme far right candidate for the presidency in the November general election . It's so amazing that we live in a country that offers such a wide selection of competing political candidates who represent a myriad of political views like my own and countless others. Yay for Democracy.

How is HRC a centrist?

Hillary Clinton's DW-Nominate score is basically the same as Hubert Humphrey's was. Clinton is a hawkish socially liberal woman w/ center-left leanings on economics.

How is HRC a centrist?

Because her husband had to run the country in a far more conservative time with a Republican Congress.
