Zelda Wii U no longer coming march 2017?

You need to start learning not to take everything at face value ignoring all context, prior knowledge, and basic logic.

This is true but this is a title Nintendo announced to the world in January 2013.

We are at a point now where the console they announced it for is dead, it was originally due in 2015 and we're in a position where Final Fantasy VII Remake part I and goddamn Shenmue 3 may well launch in the same year.

If you'd told me this when Zelda U was announced, I would have thought you were high. But you're right - Nintendo cannot be taken at face value. They make you feel bad for merely asking for the most basic of details.

Eventually...people just get bored. Let them be obtuse. No one will be around to listen.

Why tho

If it's coming out on both consoles anyway the only people Zelda U will sell consoles to are people without a Wii U. No Wii U owner is going to buy a NX because of Zelda, if they're getting one at launch they were always gonna get it regardless.

Delaying the Wii U version does nothing but piss off current Wii U owners.
This probably isn't true tbh. Most of the current WiiU owners are Nintendo diehards or people who own multiple consoles (or kids). Other than the kids, those are the people most likely to buy NX right when it comes out, and Zelda along with the new hardware. The same thing happened with Twilight Princess. Current WiiU owners are ready for the next console.

Zelda isn't coming out in March 20017 because NX isn't coming in March. the reason they said so is because they need something to show shareholders by the end of fiscal year.

The wait continues... I remember thinking "those games are still so far away" when Zelda WiiU and Mighty No.9 were announced for 2015.

Honestly, I don't see the problem. I don't know if GameCube owners were upset or not, but either way there will be Wii U owners buying a NX anyways. And if you really want Zelda you'll probably make the jump to buy the NX version of you see if coming first.

The Wii U user base is so small I don't think Nintendo would care lol.

Will there even be a Nintendo in 2017?

Seems like its only bad news coming out from it.

Don't be ridiculous. Nintendo is fine because it is doing really great in the Amiibo front and 3DS id doing mroe than ok, and also taking into account that software sales for both consoles are doing more than fine, except a very few specific titles, of course.

Does anyone actually believe NX will come out in March?

Nintendo will need the launch to feed into their bottom line for the next fiscal year calendar report.

Zelda U coming to NX 2

This is a pretty catchy tagline.

You never know, it could be Nintendo's 2017 holiday title or something :l. They pushed back the NX release to ensure it has a quality launch, could imagine they would do the same if Zelda really needed it.

But it got such a long development period already, I'm just assuming that the 2017 place holder date is because they don't know when the NX is launching next year (likely after March maybe).

Didn't they only say they will reveal NX in March? Not launch in March right?

I didn't actually believe it would launch then because they would have had to have sometime to show what the thing is. If not at E3 then where? A random Direct in December?

They never said, by official channels, it was going to be March 2017. Just 2017. So, what happened is that the press site put "March 2017" by error, and then it was edited into "2017" since that's the info released by official Nintendo channels to the press.
That makes a lot more sense to me.

Kimishima confirmed they're revealing the NX later this year and launching it in March 2017.
Hmm.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

Also, the hyperboles already in this thread (like "Don't believe Nintendo anymore" and "NX is gonna be Holiday 2017, it'll never it March") are downright histerical and they literally hurt my brain, sorry. There is criticism, there is pessimism, and there is cosmic, insane, brain-damaging, flat out Asylum-worthy mass histeria.

I wonder if all the Zelda delays are a reaction to the post-witcher 3 world. That game shook up the open world sphere so much that maybe Aonuma realized you can't just make some generico open world with generic "collect as many scattered about skulltulas", "collect as many scattered about poes", "cut grass, break post, open chests to collect rupees" sidequest-ettes anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if the game will have gone through a massive overhaul between early-ish 2015 and late 2017.

(not saying every game should be like the Witcher 3, just that the Witcher 3 has immense scope, detail and care put into it and has objectively set a new benchmark when it comes to open world games. It wouldn't surprise me if devs think some open world design crutches wont fly with gamers anymore and maybe Aonuma is making some heavy adjustments to the game)

Yeah, if it was a mistake then it was a mistake. You'll never see me in the mass histeria or pessimist train lol. People need to chill and relax. It's not coming until next year anyways. Wait and see as we get closer and the reveal the NX.

On the contrary, the Wii U user base represents their most loyal fans, the ones they'd be best advised to keep happy. They have about 15m people who'll buy even their worst planned and supported home consoles. They are their safety net; lose them, and they really could be in trouble with their next failing console.

Don't put any faith in a company until you have the game in your hand. It would be bad however if they dedicate a whole e3 to giving hands on with Zelda to release it late 2017.

I don't know, that doesn't sound entirely nuts. I certainly wouldn't put money against it.

At this point I wouldn't be shocked if March 2017 were only the big reveal for NX, to be released sometime later.

Why is that hysterical and "literally" hurts your brain?

There's no reason to bank on any of their proposed dates.

I do, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up pushing it back.

Honestly March is way too awkward a time period, I mean sure it's the best after winter, but a march release pretty much guarantee's low momentum for console unless it's a lightning in a bottle which is unlikely. They're better off releasing in winter again using E3 2017 to hype the console and consolidate all launch and post release titles.

I can't believe they thought showing the game in 2014 was a good idea. I'm guessing NX and this come out Fall of 2017. It's going to be a long dry spell.

IMO, Zelda surely has to launch alongisde NX, so any further delay Zelda gets it's because NX gets delayed. I'm saying it will launch with NX because it's the literally the only reason it got delayed in first place.

At the time they sounded pretty optimistic of this game hitting its timeframe for the Wii U. I think at some point they realized the Wii U is dead and they need to develop it for the NX also so it got pushed back to release with NX launch.

They didn't mention march 2017 for Zelda at the investors meeting, just 2017. The only place that actually said this is that press site. Doesn't mean it couldn't still happen, I think it's almost guaranteed to be a launch title myself, but it didn't seem to be a thing they intended to put out there already.

Lol, watch it be holiday 2017. Man, thats like another 1.5 years. I do have hope though, they plan on showing it in a big way this E3. Now, why would they do that if its not releasing for a year plus?
