Come on, you can't compare Banshee to Dexter, it's not the best season but it's not bad. I just want Burton to kill someone, love that little freak.

Could you imagine a Doakes/Hood team up beat down?! FFFFUUUUUUUKKKK wasted potential.

Would have been so good. I keep imagining there is more to the character than just being a psychiatrist. Such a small role that doesn't fit the actor. Also how has noone noticed the guy in town that has horn implants in his damn head and is also apparently a millionaire? I don't feel like there is going to be a satisfying conclusion with 3 episodes left.

Well this is probably (if it keeps this trajectory) the hardest I've seen a series fall into shit territory this fast.
But then again I haven't seen a lot of infamous offenders like Dexter and such.

Dexter is the worst final season ever. Nothing will top that. No redeeming qualities in it. True Blood final season was pretty bad, but still not even close to Dexter. Banshee isn't really bad. The acting, cinematography, and production are still good. It's just boring and a change from the adrenaline filled episodes we got from other seasons.

She seems pretty disconnected from everything else.

She's the only one who is actually taking a stand against Proctor and the Neo Nazis, both of whom should be the main focus of the season instead of the serial killer.

C'mon, this season is nowhere near bad enough to warrant such a comparison. -__-

Y'all ain't reading my post, lol.
I'm not comparing, because I never saw Dexter.
I'm saying this is one of the worst I can, personally, remember.

I liked the scene where Hood finally apologized to Job. It was cathartic.

I think the 8 episode season is working against the show. When you have only 8 episodes you cannot afford to have meandering storylines or pointless characters (like Dushku). They should have doubled down on the core conflict of the show which is Hood vs Proctor and built the final season around that. Heck, even the Rebecca murder mystery seemed somewhat intriguing in the beginning but when they revealed the murderer was some new and totally unrelated character, why are we supposed to care?

That was indeed a fantastic scene.

Yep.

They're spending so much time on Rebecca via the flashbacks that I'm convinced her death is unrelated to the serial killer plot. It would make no sense for her to be randomly killed by a random serial killer after the writers have taken the time to establish that she has a side business that she keeps secret from her uncle, Kai stealing her money and her pointing a gun at him, etc. There's just too much of a Rebecca vs Kai thing going on for her death to be unconnected.

I'm thinking that she was killed by Kai and he made (Burton make) her death look like it was done by the serial killer so he personally wouldn't have to deal with the fallout of his niece going missing/dying.

Burton has also been flexing his muscle with Proctor lately. Wouldn't be surprised if Burton killed Rebecca because she was fuckin up too hard. Made it look like the serial killer murders to cover his tracks and that'll all come to a head in the 2nd to last episode. Then you'll have a Burton v Proctor fight to the death.

Because Proctor was too blinded by his love for Rebecca that he would stand by and watch her destroy everything Proctor and Burton have fought and killed for. Proctor and the business are basically Burtons entire life. This is my design.

Man it would really suck if the whole Satanist cult thing ended up being a red herring. That would mean every minute of screen time given to them was a pure waste. This whole serial killer business is just not working out for the show.

Well...yeah. It would suck, but at least Rebecca's arc would be salvaged.

Job is probably my favorite character in Banshee. His dialogue is just gold, imo. I realize that Job is going through shit, but damn it the series is almost over and I just want the old Job back! At the very least I hope Job goes into hack mode and really fucks up Leo. Maybe change information so he appears on a terrorist watch list or something.

What is up with the actor who plays Chris? He looks like he's on the verge of tears in every scene. Is this intentional?

This has probably been mentioned already but is Tom Pelphrey related to Keanu Reeves in any way?

Because Kurt is Neo.

I'm probably in the minority, but I feel like all the episodes have been pretty damn great so far, and the latest one was quite probably one of the most violent since S1's season finale. That truck scene was something else. Jop getting his groove back was amazing, and the scene at Siobhan's trailer was the most emotive Banshee has been in a while. Great marks all around.

My main concern is the usual, though. While I'm enjoying the season as much if not more than the previous one, the pacing makes no sense at all once you consider the reduced number of episodes. Even if the writing feels tighter than in previous seasons, plot development itself has been baffling spread out for a season finale with a reduced number of episodes.

Another thing Hood hasn't porked dushuku character yet which is strange
I could be wrong, but I believe Dushku is really not into nekkid scenes. So that may be it.

Of course the small town of Banshee would have an S&M club, and of course it would be the most over the top S&M club in television history.

It fits the super pulpy nature of Banshee.

With that said, small places often hide the biggest secrets. Close to my parents' hometown there's this podunk deep into hicksville territory that is home to a huge (and I mean HUGE) swingers club* that looks like your average rustic mansion. Depending on who you ask, weekends are either the closest thing to heaven or something out of a Hunter S. Thompson's wet dream.

*and before you ask, no, I'm not one of the patrons.

I have to echo a lot of the thoughts here. Disappointed with the season after such a superb one last year. I wish things were a little more honed in on Hood vs. Proctor. I wish Rebecca was still a factor in the current timeline. I feel the serial killer stuff and Dushku feel a bit extraneous. If it weren't the final season (and a truncated one at that), this stuff may not be so bad, but it seems to be pulling the focus away from where it should be for the final stretch. I do think the Nazi plot is pretty good though.

And I wish there some more brutal fist fights and great action sequences. Not to downplay the characters, but the action is the main appeal of the series for me and it has been lacking this season. Looking at what we were treated to through five episodes in terms of action last season, it was kind of insane. I loved it.

Bunker was almost turning the season interesting by setting a war with the neonazis, but no let just have brock stop him

Why did the FBI send only a single agent to address a rampant serial killer? Why does Dawson need to enlist Hood's help when she got the entire BSD at her call? 'You know the town!'..unlike all the cops. I swear, the Sheriff's HQ buzzes non-stop but i haven't seen any officers other than Brock, Kurt and Nina.

This season continues to be a complete misfire.

It's still enjoyable, but there are only, what, 3 episodes left?! This final season should definitely have just been wrapping up pre-existing storylines...

I'm enjoying S4 well enough, but from the main plotlines and pacing you would never guess the creators are aware that this is the final season, and a really short one to boot.

THey killed papa Nazi :(
And I really thoght for a moment Burton would use that chainsaw on the poor horse :D

I didn't expect them to kill the Über Nazi, figured Hood would take him out. I like that in this show, they did the same thing with the fat guy in the truck in season 3(?).

I'm just glad Burton didn't go to town on that horse, I expected that as well. Proctor is ice cold in destroying all that produce.

I'm not exactly shocked that Proctor kicked his family out. The dude really has no love for most of them. He's hated the Bowman's ever since they forced her out and he hates his family. Last season there was some reconciliation after his mom died, but I don't think that went too well. I know he started going to church briefly, but I don't think he stayed active with it after certain events in season 3. I need to rewatch that season though. I pretty much think his familial love died with his mom, even though he did try to reconnect with it after she died. Up till now I think he's just been tolerating them out of respect. Since they stopped respecting him completely he just pushed the "fuck it" button.

seeing that after watching Green Room, my general hatred for Nazi's gained like 60+ points

This show, man. I'm gonna miss it. It keeps getting crazier and crazier and my love for it keeps getting stronger. How do they keep getting away with this!

New episode tonight!

Only One Way a Dogfight Ends

Lucas helps Dawson narrow her search for Declan Bode, a Satanist who is a "person of interest" in the serial killings; an emboldened Calvin challenges Proctor and Kurt; and Carrie's vigilante antics put her and Deva in danger.

Yeah, that was a good one. The fight at Carrie's house was pretty sweet (though I did roll my eyes when the bad deputy chick got away). Too bad this season took so long to finally get going.

Finally a great Banshee episode. Very intense and can't wait for more. :)

It was pretty dumb of Cruz to show up in person, but at least we got a Banshee catfight and she'll probably die horribly in the next ep. ;)

This ep was actually legit good. I feel quite bad for Brock though, fuck. Loved the catfight between Carrie and Cruz, Cruz got some moves. Gave Carrie more of a challenge than I expected. I wonder who's better Cruz or Nola Longshadow? Nola can't have that damn Tomahawk though, too much of a game breaker. If Cruz isn't better she's at least god damn smarter since she knows what a fucking tactical retreat is. Actually liked the near sex scene with Hood and Dawson. Hood is still fucked up and instead of kicking the dude out of bed she held him. Dawson you fucking idiot. Just when I was starting to like her too. I had a feeling she'd wind up tied up in Deckland house, but not till next week. Hood better actually succeed in saving her since I've always had a thing for Dushku, lack of talent withstanding.

lol, the Sheriff's HQ's back is as if it's a ghost town. Really stupid Declan decided to reveal himself there and everyone was none the wiser.

Dawson gets a picture of Declan. How about you fucking share it with BPD and circulate it? You know, like the FBI agent you're supposed to be. This is utterly laughable. Please please let her die. You don't get to write a character as stupid as she is written and let her live.

lol Cruz going to take down Carrie. I guess her and Proctor don't care if they plaster the news with how Proctor's hand-picked officer was caught\died while trying to murder some people. At least we got a serviceable fight scene.

Nobody watches this for the realism. It is, and always has been, fun pulp.

I liked this episode, the scene in which Hood broke was particularly good.

Can't wait for the Proctor versus Nazi's versus team Carrie fight.

I still can't stand Dushku or the serial killer plot but the rest was good. In fact, it was the first one of the season that actually felt like a Banshee episode.

waiting for there to be a surprise min-series. 4 episodes, Hood and Co. clean up Banshee, one group at a time.

I think homegirl at the beginning couldve been tackled before she emptied that whole container of gasoline onto herself. Just sayin'...
