Rumour: Injustice 2 coming May 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

I don't get why we should have to pay for Rain when he is already in the Story mode with a complete move list.
It doesn't take a pair of eyes and more than 2 seconds to figure out rain is nowhere near complete. Literally just a port from 9 and missing the three different styles.

Unless it's a drastic improvement from injustice 1, I am really not interested.

Most boring fighter I've played this side of clay fighter. Straight garbage tier.

Lmao
I don't know how much influence Ed Boon had on the PC versions quality (probably very little) but it looks like he genuinely thought the PC version would turn out well. Then again if he had looked at High Voltage's track record he should have known better.

Goddamn Brawhalla so high already? It's overtaking Smash as the go-to brawler much sooner than I expected, I was predicting 2-3 years considering how light in content it is yet but it seems like I underestimated it when it does have higher numbers than Smash already. Can't imagine how faster it'll grow when it's out for PS4 too.

I hope they have a new artist/modeler than doesn't have the artistic style of a potato. All 3D MK and DC fighting games have looked awful. MKX was slightly better I guess.

I echo the lack of faith about the PC version, but I am excited to see how it turns out.

Kind of hope that if it's real, Netherrealm steps up their 3D modeling game. Mortal Kombat X had decent character models that were a noticeable gain over Injustice, but I still feel like there's a gap between their concept art and their in-game models. Their concept art always seems pretty damn strong and it sometimes ends up feeling a bit disappointing to see that it didn't translate too well into game assets. Felt prominent to me in MKX and Injustice -- the concept art often feels like really cool, Western-style comic book art and the in-game models always tend to feel like they lack visual polish.

I hope they bring back the variations from MKX, but make most of the roster have different characters for each variation like Tri-Borg. So, for example, instead of just having three variations for Flash, the other two could be Reverse Flash and Kid Flash. Or the Hal Jordan's variations could be Guy and John. The differences in movesets could fit each character's personality, like Guy being more aggressive and rushdown focused than Hal. I think that'd work really well in a DC fighting game since so many popular characters are just variations of another. It's the most clever way to add clones.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has thought of this.

I thought of this when I did a thread saying I wanted an Young Justice game over a Injustice 2. I suggested characters like Robin would be perfect: 1 Variation for Dick Grayson, 1 for Tim Drake, 1 for Damian Wayne. Dick would be more acrobatic and use the staff more, Tim Drake would use more gadgets and Damian Wayne would overall be more brutal. I think this would be the best for the series. My biggest problem with Injustice's roosters was that it felt some characters were just copycap characters: Shazaam/Black Adam, Green Lantern/Sinestro that could have easily been "Variation" characters leaving more open in the rooster.

"Superman game can't be done!"

All ya'll that want more Bat characters are disgusting. They're really not visually interesting and are mostly redundant. Just make one robin character and pick between tim, dick and damien. Redhood could be a skin for deathstroke.

The stage choices were disappointing too for IJ one, way too many Gotham locales. No opal city, vanishing point (fighting through events of the DC comics in the background, would be so cool), Speedforce, Korguar, OA, Hell, Apocalypse was a damn shame. I'm so glad we got 2 variants of Wayne Manor, Arkham and Gotham City though.

All that stuff is good in theory, but when a 'variation' of Robin has a hitbox half the original size like the Damien 'variation' would be then what's really the point of them not being seperate characters.

The concept of bringing variations or character-alternates to Injustice falls apart anyways when you try to project the idea past a few key characters. Gadgets Batman, Takedown Batman, Kung-Fu Batman sounds good, but try doing that for Aquaman or Superman. (Freeze Breath Superman, Heat Ray Superman, Superbreath Superman?)

Hal, John, and Guy! ....But Cyborg, ummm Victor, and umm Cyborg

Usually, I'm all for supporting fighters on PC, but Netherrealms MKXL shenanigans are making me think twice.

Yeah Damien could present a problem but them being separate characters seem kind of a moot point to me. I mean I guess you could just throw out Dick Grayson Robin and just keep him on Nightwing and make Tim Drake Red Robin but I feel that now's about the time where we get a real playable Damien. He's a very unique robin and he should be featured in some capacity and he's already proven that he can take down full adults. It wouldn't be the first time fighting games had mixed character heights.

As for the other variations that don't necessarily have to be completely different characters. Cyborg could have a variation that focused on grappling and throws, or a variation using his beams, or a variation using his augmented strength and technology (like bigger hands or robotic shape shifting). Aquaman could have a trident based variation, a water based variation (similar to Aqualad in Young Justice), or a variation that focuses on sea animals. It can be done, there's enough character development to make some unique movesets.

As long as Cyborg and Martian Manhunter return with their correct VAs I'll be happy.
I feel like I'm one of like 10 people who was the most hyped about Cyborg out of the roster at launch. Hell, I prefer Batman, Flash, MM to him, but he was such a hype choice for me, and he was super fun to play as.

Aquaman could work with the modern/warrior version of the character with his Injustice 1 playstyle, a more classic version of the character with less trident and more water constructs/projectiles and attacking with marine life summons, and something based on his Dweller of the Deep magic days or one of his legacy characters like Kal'dur.

Superman could work with traditional Superman, a more brutal version of the character with some Zod blended in and different uses for his powers to work as the Injustice/Ultraman version of the character, and another for his weird energy red/blue days. Or he could have styles based on the various post-death of Superman replacements like Steel, Superboy and Cyborg Superman, or a stance based on Bizzaro.

Cyborg could have his Injustice 1 zoning style as a traditional Cyborg, a stance based on Grid and be a more brutal and space-invadey version of the character, maybe even a grappler or some kind of weird trap-based gimmick set. Another based more on his New 52 techno shapeshifting and teleporting via mother/father boxes.

I think the variation thing will stay with MK possibly with just X.

Injustice will probably keep the traits as its main character gimmick.

I only want 3 things from this game:

1. Emphasis on tag team so I can play a Joker-Harley team online
2. A Joker that isn't underpowered.
3. A 50/50 split between DC heroes and villains. None of this bullshit where Zatanna and Scorpion are on the villain side of the MK roster.

If the overall concept is anything like the first Injustice, like I said above, alternate versions of the characters could take those spots. So, you'd have Regime and standard Superman with different specials, with the first being more brutal. Or maybe, if they went with completely different characters as the variations, like suggested above, they could make Superman, Superboy and... Zod or some other Kryptonian as the same base moveset with different specials.

I want Captain Cold and Captain Boomerang.

And Cold needs to be voiced by Wentworth Miller.

Also I'd prefer more characters without variations than fewer characters with variations.

It'd be cool if they have multiple Earth's involved. That way you could have different MKX-style variations be different Earth versions of a character. So for Batman, it could be Batman, Insurgency Batman and Owlman for his three variations.

This is what i want as well. But as i've said when i talked about the same thing before, it might be a bit too much work.
I need Chainsaw Wonder Woman in a game now that Infinite Crisis is dead ;_;

Looking forward to see how gimped the PC version turns out.

Looking forward to the dropped support and less dlc on pc. That being said, this game NEEDS 2 v 2. TWO VS TWO. Being a super hero game it fits so perfectly. I want to play as batman with a friend as robin vs my two other friends in couch coop. MKX sucked because it didn't have the 2v2 mode.

Because he's not complete.
Is his MK2011 model with the MKX look.

Is part of the reason why the team is considering not adding cameos. They thought it would be cool to just tease things, like movies do all the time... but people saw it another way.

The character is not complete, and in the case of Rain which was never a full character until the SNES version of UMK3 then disappeared until MK Armageddon.

MKX also didn't had it because their data indicated that people ignored it in MK2011. So they decided to remove it, though could return at some point.

No more Mortal Kombat characters in the super hero universe please!

I was seriously perturbed when they announced Scorpion for Injustice cause I felt like they could have put another DC character in that spot. And low and behind more DC characters were announced but not in the same DLC pack. Pissed me off that Scorpion is part of the freaking season pass but not Martian Manhunter, total bullshit.

You bet there will be at least one.

Scorpion was the top selling DLC in the first game, same as Freddy was in MK2011.

So, expect more guests! :p

Freddy and all the horror movie villains makes perfect since in Mortal Kombat's gory over the top world bloody world. Scorpion in a Super hero fighting game doesn't. Hell it still didn't make sense in Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe.

Is there anymore rumor about Injustice 2 since people seem to be set on 24-30 characters roster? I truly hope that they are going to expand on Injustice 1's roster and add more characters from there. I know it might be unlikely to happens.
