They haven't really done much more with him than what you see in the first few issues. He shows up and is charming, debonair and seemingly wants to help Tony with the magic stuff.

Yeah that's what I think its odd, I kind of like that he doesn't have his iconic look for a change (I know the status quo will eventually come back) but its kind of weird that he doesn't act much like Doom. Although him just showing up eating potato chips was funny.

The artist definitely seems to be using Vincent Cassel as Doom's likeness:

It's official: G. Willow Wilson writes every character better in her book.

This the most I've ever been entertained by Mles.

So I'm guessing annual relaunches are going to be the new norm... which I'm okay with, as I really like the overall feel of the past few years. But man, at least come up with a new name. Disguise the rehash!

I guess we knew annual relaunches were the thing now, but it's disappointing nonetheless. Hopefully we don't lose too many ANAD books/creative teams.

I'm sure we'll lose New Avengers though; it was just too perfect for this sinful earth.

If this follows up with AN Now, not much will change, teams might get shuffled, books will get added.

All we know is that Bendis wants Jessica Jones again, Blade and Gamora might finally be out

Don't you mean ANAD Avengers?

Whoah Standoff was good?
Cant wait for when Civil War II turns out good.
Lots of people who liked the 0 issue.

But hey, complaining months before the actual book came out is easy.

Nothing will relaunch, this will be the start for a couple of new books like they did in the last cycle.

Whoah Standoff was good?

It's the best Marvel event in years.

Don't you mean ANAD Avengers?

That was a Waid book; it was never going to last anyway.

It's a Bendis event book retreading an event that wasn't good in the first place, and the FCBD issue was trash; it probably won't be a complete dumpster fire like Age of Ultron or Guardians of the Galaxy, but there's no chance it turns out actually good.

Standoff would have made a really solid arc of Captain America. No real reason to jam the Avengers into it, so it felt kind of like a waste outside of those core issues.

The "relaunches" are just shuffling writers around to different books and starting new storylines.

It's really nothing to complain about.

Now that we're reaching the end of ANAD Marvel I'm curious to see what Marvel tries to push next like they did with Iron Man, Dr. Strange, and Black Panther.

We're also getting a new Star-Lord book.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Just read Cap.

Really liked the issue, obvious that the twist will involve Sinclair from the past, perhaps time travel shenanigans.

I expect Red Skull to be involved.

Please be good and not copy Pratt Lord. I think they'll push those 3 still with Spidey.

In general, I really like the angle of "HYDRA emerging from the current refugee crisis and general racial enmity" in Captain America, and how it doesn't really talk down with the "bad guys." It'd be really easy to draw the anti-immigrant crowd in green jumpsuits, tossing out Nazi salutes, and cheer on Cap when he punches their lights out. But there's this really strong "people are people" undercurrent to it all, which I respect Spencer a lot for.

In general it feels like - yeah, this is the sort of subject matter of a Captain America book SHOULD be about. Topical, but in an appropriate way.

Also I was so happy to see Jack Flag again, and so sad when he got knocked out of a plane...

We're also getting a new Star-Lord book.

Nothing like a issue #1 to boost sales. That Squirrel Girl cover is right. It is not that reboots are the new hot thing, but renumbering.

No clue. Here's last month's sales.

All New All Different Avengers #8: 51,925
Avengers Standoff Assault On Pleasant Hill Omega #1: 49,012
Uncanny Avengers #8: 45,659
New Avengers #9: 30,835
New Avengers #10: 30,102
Ultimates #6: 26,146

It is sad that the best Avengers book (Ultimates) is the last on the list. Cannot stand Old Cap X-men, and New Avengers got bad really fast. ANAD Avengers is great though.

They say the best books are the ones with the least sales.

Glad to know I wasn't crazy by seeing some resemblance.

Speaking of Doom, his absence in The Last Days of Magic is weird. We even got the tibetean Doom!

Has Nancy always understood what Tippy-Toe says??

She has been learning to speak squirrel with the other two guys whom I totally forgot their name because they are that remarkable.

Uncanny is doing better than it? Jesus DP has some pull.

NA is actually pretty good for what it is, Saturday Morning Avengers.

It doesn't even take two whole pages before Civil War II runs into continuity issues. This thing is a tire fire.

At least it's a pretty looking tire fire, I guess.
