Rhythm Heaven Megamix |OT| ft. 100+ Minigames, Story Mode, and more!

Ushojax

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
So what are the realistic chances of this simply just coming out in EU today when the eshop update happens?

Almost zero, Rhythm Heaven has never had a simultaneous release between NA and EU. At best it will be a few weeks of waiting, at worst a few months.

Yeah, i mean, come on!!!!

Calm down, they just announced Teddy Together for launch on July 1. That's much better :p

We never got a Rhythm Heaven game :D
But yeah, Rhythm Paradise was a huge failure despite a big marketing campaign (with Beyonce!), a full localisation of lyrics into the major European languages, and even NoE sending out demo cards on their website (which surprisingly don't work on the DSi and 3DS). For the Wii version, they at least added the Japanese soundtrack and made it a budget release.

I wonder if we'll get the German and French lyrics for the DS songs.

On the fifth set of levels so far. I'll discuss details of the game so plz don't read if no spoils thx.

Pros:

Megamix sports unprecedented QOL features, such as:

1. Greater depth of understanding of my exact timing plus of the scoring system
2. Music and objects available through purchasing rather than getting a perfect
3. Multi-player mode has a CPU opponent
4. Japanese track option!!?

A lot of my favorite games, including Exhibition Match, Sneaky Spirit, and Shoot 'Em Up are featured

The goat's neat

The star system is a nice little challenge and contextualizes the "big" part of the level

Cons:

Early levels are super short, like comically so

Some of the returning songs have new songs that for the most part aren't as good (none have been bad by any means however)

Two new levels in a row were about fruit

The coin flip mini-game was kind of maddening. I was pretty good at keeping the timing in my head, but with only one chance, I gave Paprika four tries and spent more to beat his challenge than I would if I just played Easy.

If the quality continues to rise, I think that as far as being a game goes, this could be my favorite Rhythm Heaven game. I'll have to see how the new levels are to judge it creatively.

I left my 3DS at home this time. Of all trips...

To think though I have both Future Tone PS4 and now Rhythm Heaven 3DS to look forward to is dazzling.

The new games quality ramps up like exponentially so, it's crazy. The first sets of challenges are really beginner tailored but don't worry there's much to love

Many of my favourite games are some of the new ones here.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the iguana one. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't based on the Rhythm Heaven Fever level though.

Hoping to finally play a bit of this before I go to bed.

So do you have to constantly go to the menu to switch which language you want the vocals to be, or can it be a song-to-song choice, so I can keep certain songs Japanese while others are English?

It seems as though you have to switch in the Cafe.

My Rhythm Tengoku cart basically never leaves my GBA Micro and I've still got Rhythm Paradise, so the delay is no biggie for me.

Four months after the US is really fucking stupid though. Presumably they can't really use the translation excuse since that's already been done.

Having played the Japanese version when it came out and loved it, it's safe to say you're going to enjoy the game a lot more later.
Sorta spoilers, if a Rhythm Game can really be spoiled:
The first several worlds are really easy, and you'll have noticed that some of the returning minigames have different songs, and are simplified, eg. Shoot-Em-Up, Flipper Flop. But they appear again later on in the game with their original songs and difficulty. Only when you reach your first remix does the game start to really feel like Rhythm Heaven and it just gets better and better from there.

Unless I'm mistaken, the DS and Wii games had different translations in Europe, this may be the same.

I'm happy for folks who wanted physical, but this is really disappointing for me. The wait is gonna suck, my favourite series and I really wanna play this one in English nowwwwww.

Psst. Nintendoooo. If you release it digitally now, and physical in October, you'll get two sales out of me. :)

I've played 10 games and I noticed they are easier than the previous Rhythm Heaven games, will it be like that or it will get harder?

HOLY CRAP, I managed to pass the first gate on the hardest difficulty on my first try. Kind of silly you still have to pay to try the easier difficulties. Any reason why I should bother?

Definitely gets harder. As I said above,
the beginning of the game almost feels like a tutorial, and most of the returning games are toned down in difficulty. Once you get to your first Remix, which is quite far in, the game gets to the level of difficulty you'd expect from the series.

Oh good, most of the mini-games that I disliked were shoved as unlockables in the shop, it seems. That means I won't see them in the "main" part, right?

Yep. You get them with coins earned from the Challenge Train. None of them are in the main story.

Was hoping they fix the awful English version of Pop Idol. Nope! Singer sounds so bored!
Edit: Yes you can play DS stuff with no touch. Buttons are on by default.

If the price is right I might get it. Not a huge fan of old songs you can play again collections. I'm mostly in for the new songs and songs from the DS game if you can play them without the touch screen. The japanese voice track is very much appreciated.

The A button in my 3DS is not working properly, can I use the other three buttons in this? (haven't had the opportunity either to download the demo)

No. Most of the minigames are A, B and sometimes the D-Pad.
There is an option to use the touch screen entirely though, you could use that instead, but it's not great in my opinion.

Thanks. You gave some hope to keep playing lol

Apparently it's still October 21st here. -_____-
