As much as I dislike the idea of a Jon/Dany romance plotline marrying him makes the most sense if she wants to pull off an Aegon-tier conquest and take the entire realm. She has the Reach, she has Dorne, and she has the Iron Islands on paper. Cersei and Euron will put up a decent enough fight but they can't beat her, no one South of the Neck can.
But if Dany is dumb enough to try and take The North by force she is boned. She dicked around in Meereen too long and now the "coldest Winter in a thousand years" is here, transforming the already massive and treacherous region into just about the worst frozen hellscape imaginable for her collection of Summer warriors. Whatever of her host made it all the way to Winterfell would then have to win a siege against a force who specialize in fighting in the frost & snow.
And what are Dragons against a Raven?
Pretty cool detail that we finally know what that thing in the intro is supposed to be

Ok, rewatched the intro and Sam's library scene. I don't know if I'm just parroting an already established fan theory, but here's what's going to happen:
- Sam will become GOAT, he'll provide the big deus ex machina moment for the show's finale.
- The science vs. religion trope has already been foreshadowed, when Sam met Melissandre at the wall
- Sam will study the ancient mechanism in the library - recover forgotten knowledge and make it work again
- The intro shows an artificial sun and the mechanism in the library involves multiple mirrors
- The show in the end will follow the fantasy trope of how knowledge beats magic and religion
- They've spent so much time on this character - he will have a major purpose
I can't shake the impression that when Sansa denied LF and he said "a motherless bastard born in the South" about Jon, she thought it describes her.
He'll leave the Starks alone for a while but I wouldn't be surprised if LF starts courting Daenerys early next season, it's a LF thing to do, attach himself to power.

Wouldn't Tyrion warn her about LF not being trustworthy? I'd be impressed if LF can win Dany over to marry him.
Both Tyrion and Varys know better than to let that happen.

Rewatching season1 I was reminded of Tyrion and Jon's bromance so I can see an alliance being formed there. But then Dany is allied with Theon and there was no love lost there even before Theon betrayed his house

Littlefinger really doesn't fit in the story anymore, at least as how the show has crafted it. His whole thing is playing two or more sides, but he has no place among the dragons, ice zombies, or pirates. King's Landing political intrigue has been wiped clean, leaving the area with 3 or 4 characters. Westeros is all that matters now and most of it doesn't. So all that's left to do is poke at a betrayed Sansa a bunch until it gets him unceremoniously killed; granted, this was probably always how he was going to die.

Also it's interesting how close all of these houses now are to dying off completely due to a lack of continued bloodline. All of the Lannisters, Targaryans and Starks are on their last legs and will need to reproduce soon

His purpose is and has always been the exposition character. Of course they would spend a lot of time with him... he is integral to explaining the story to the viewer in a way that we understand it. He won't HAVE a major purpose, he has HAD a major purpose.
Don't agree. Why are they still continuing his arc then? What kind of exposition can he provide while being completely out of the game? He's the Jack (Lost) of the Got universe. Why establish a "knowledge" char without greater meaning or purpose? I've always feared that Bran will do some magic bs at the end to save the day against the WW, but now I'm 100% sure Bran and Sam, the non-warriors of the show, will be crucial for overcoming the odds in the end.

I feel like Drogon may be the only surviving dragon at the end of the show, don't know why.
Ironically, Ellaria and the sand snakes have killed almost as many of their own family members as the people who they want revenge against for killing their family members.
Cue Oberyn getting revived and wanting revenge for the death of his brother and nephew.
Yeah I think he is more overwhelmed by a sense of belonging than falling in love with Dany. He was the famous dwarf Westeros and nobody took him seriously even though he is an intelligent man. Repeatedly he is told he'd be dead in a gutter if not for his Lannister last name. Finally somebody recognized his talent and rewarded him, mostly through his own skills than by name recognition as well. He is overjoyed.
I just thought it's funny, he's not Jon Snow, he's not Jon Stark either, born in Dorne he could have been Jon Sand. Oh and he's not Jon.

Bastard names come from where you're raised not from where you're born though. Ned's story has him being born in the South anyway and he was still raised as Snow.

I was thinking the same thing. House Tyrell I think is 100% fucked. They have no males left as far as we know of that can reproduce and bring back the line. Or am I forgetting someone?

I've read that it's awful, but supposedly there is one on Sky that is better?
I've been doing a re-watch of the series and watching all the behind the scenes and inside the episode stuff after every episode. Wouldn't mind adding After the Thrones, or the Sky version if it's decent enough.
BTW, it's on HBO2 not HBO.

Well Mace and Loras are dead. I'm sure Olenna has a brother or nephew or something. Someone who hasn't been mentioned yet and could easily be brought in. The Tyrells are one of the great families of Westeros. I'm assuming there were more than 2 living males.
The problem with finding stuff that fill GoT's void is that there isn't much like Game of Thrones.
I hear the Metabarons are kinda GoT-esque but in space. Also heard that there's these books called a Song of Ice and Fire that are somewhat similar, might check those out.
