Way to go, President Camacho!

Chuck

Still without luck
When they go to TGS/Space World this year, Dan and Drew should find that pachinko machine and stream playing it.

I want to make an avatar bet with someone: For every news topic on Pokemon Go, I bet that within the first five posts the topic of "but will it last" will be brought up.

Bah, could've used that image when I uploaded the clip to YT, Dan!

Also, there's no use in arguing the categories of a list literally made up on the spot.

If it makes you feel better, Myggs, I paired that image with a link to your Youtube clip on the tumblr.

The worst part about the Pokémon Go stuff is hearing both coasts absolutely mangle the franchise.

The Go discussion on today's Beastcast was actively painful.

If there is one thing Pokemon GO did right, it's that it got new people interested in Pokemon who otherwise might never even dive into such a world. With this, there is potential for more people now to play the REAL Pokemon games.

Fantastapotamus

Wrong about commas, wrong about everything
Geez, what a fucking day this is.
Hopefully the RDR video will be up soon, I could really need something to ease my mind. This fucking day...

Does that ever actually work though? There's a big difference between free simple phone game and hey go spend $200+ on a system and a much more complex game.

I do think it works especially if people talked to their friends about it, usually you'd have to explain about Pokemon and shit to get them to maybe think about getting it. The way I see it now, it should be easier to push people towards purchasing a Pokemon game and a system without explaining or doing too much.

While the games are complex, they also offer depth and various other things not available in Pokemon GO. I will not be surprised if the next batch of Pokemon games will compliment Pokemon GO in someway. This way, Nintendo ensures you play Pokemon whether on mobile or a handheld.

Is Go going to get everyone who played it to drop hundreds on dedicated hardware to play a game which actually isn't all that similar to it? No, of course not.

Is Go going to function as the highest-profile advertising that the series has had in a decade and a half, and might that raise interest in the franchise enough amongst lapsed fans and newbies to benefit the main games? Yes, absolutely- I wouldn't expect sales to instantly go back to Red and Blue levels, or for 3DS sales to skyrocket, but I would not be at all surprised if some lapsed fans follow up their renewed interest with the new, sure to be heavily-advertised Pokémon games.

I wouldn't call GT/ EZA fans terrible, but they and the site they follow always make me feel unnervingly like someone's trying to indoctrinate me into a cult.

should we just bunch all the other youtubers with Joe into a super group and pit them against Total Biscuit?

I feel Gamespot and GameFAQs need representation too.

Giant Bomb Fans are the worst, right guys?

Guys?

In all fairness I don't think GB fans are *too* bad. The annoying thing is they generally seem like a relatively progressive bunch but if you every critique GB for anything (not sniping individual members of the team which I think is pretty shitty) they'll lose their minds.

For me, people bullshitting nonsensical Pokemon names is right up there with people who make up nonsensical names for fast food products. You know what the shit is called, stop pretending you're above it.

I guess I'm just skeptical about its ability to transform its audience from Pokemon Go fans to Pokemon Rpg fans. It's great for the Pokemon brand overall, but I don't see that necessarily meaning people will play the traditional Pokemon games.

It's like the thing with the Wii. People didn't turn into video game fans they turned into Wii Sports fans.

It was mainly a joke about this thread but I can see how it looks like I'm calling out the bad GB fans lol.
