FACT: Danny Brown details Kendrick Lamar-featuring, System Of A Down-inspired Atrocity Exhibition

“This album is just my sound. This is Danny Brown.”

Danny Brown will release his new album Atrocity Exhibition next month.

As for the sound, Brown reached to a wide range of influences including Björk, Talking Heads, Raekwon and System Of A Down’s Toxicity (Brown has always been a vocal fan of nü-metal, after all). As the title alludes, it’s also heavily influenced by Joy Division. Brown discussed the importance of the band and that particular song in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Wow this is gonna be the first Danny album I actively avoid.

Ah, damn. Would've been the perfect day today - new Thugga tape, new 50min FFXV master build footage (which I'm still not sure if I should watch or not) and I'm gonna start Witcher 3's Hearts of Stone DLC tonight.

Hearts of Stone is pure fire.

Bummed Jeffer isn't dropping the album today.

Gonna be my playlist after work, thanks.

Eh Danny just tends to say shit randomly like that. He could just mean in hopelessness/darkness. More than heavy metal sound and Bjork sound.
Hyped.

I kinda hope at least one of the tracks has a heavy metal sound on it tho. That shit has been pretty untapped by rap music so far.

I remember hearing that MJ loved Kanye's singing voice when they recorded Thriller 25 together

which led to Kanye singing more on his albums

singing with autotune out the ass, but singing nonetheless

I love how that MJ article was shamelessly stolen from KTT

lmao

edit: I don't know how to interact with people who think Eminem is a classic artist

Listening to the Projects By Wu Tang.....

LOL Ghostface's verse is.....I don't know what to make of it. How weird and jarring.
Ghost is my favourite but always thought that verse was kinda lame lol.

"Use vinegar to try to tighten up your ginger" c'mon bro.

I guess it's hilariously over the top. And the ending is a little crazy.

Toxicity isn't that bad of an album

I never knew that people didn't like Toxicity

Favorite Posse Cuts in rap?

It's old as fuck, but I gotta go with The Symphony by Marley Marl.

That's definitely one of the best ones.

Flava in Ya Ear Remix
Forever (the Drake song) is a modern classic
Stranded On Death Row
The Session (Longest Posse Cut in History) (off of the first Roots album, it's 12:46 long haha)

I'm sure there are so many great ones, but those the favorites the came to mind

Ab soul ruins another song with his struggle verse

which song?

Wot?

Really though, given how many bars rappers probably have to write, I don't really get too miffed when some of my favorites drop many dumb/wack/stupid lines throughout their careers. It happens.

Outside of any new Roc Marci project, this is now my most anticipated release:

Failure's No Options a classic, so Banks better follow it up.
