tbh I'd say he sounds just as lazy, loud and dumb on Yeezus (i.e. But I got her back in and put my dick in her mooooooouth and notably Bound 2) , but it works well with the abrasive musical style without being excessively self-indulgent compared to TLOP (it still is because it's Kanye, even though it's his most concise album).

Bound 2 is trash, don't get me wrong. I've never liked that track.

Yes, the production helps on Yeezus, but something's still off on TLOP. It's artificial. I never thought he was particularly witty, even back in the CD/LR days, but Yeezus at least sounds intentional. Parts of TLOP sound like he's trying to keep the character of "Kanye" alive but he's way less inspired so he's just repeating outlandish things until something sticks. Leads to this feeling that I'm laughing at him than with him. His bad qualities are then magnified, aided in part by the album being ~25 minutes longer.

Plus TLOP gets downright boring, which is the worst sin of all. Ultralight Beam, Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1, Low Lights, back half of 30 Hours, No More Parties In LA, Facts. These are nothing moments. The best stretch is from Waves to Wolves, then it finishes strong with Fade and the Saint Pablo DLC, which is now the best track on the album.

And how the hell did he both waste the beat on Freestyle 4 with his trash verse, AND not get Busta Rhymes on it smh

Ultra Light Beam is a nothing moment?
The song of the year contender?
Anyways my favorite stretch is from ULB through Famous, and then I enjoy the rest from there but it's "eh" personally until the Waves/FMl combo, and the first minute of FML is top five Kanye material imo.
Then I skip to Franks track and 30 Hours, and finish off with Facts and Fade.
All around it's enjoyable to me and at least has a few songs (ULB, PT.2, Famous, FML, Fade), that I consider among Kanye's best.

Also I love Yeezus and wouldn't consider Bound 2 my favorite on the album, but trash? It's thematically perfect, and imo has some of Kanye's best lyricism.
Is it the simple sample loop? Is Charlie too cheesy for you? Is it the abrasive uh huh honey?

Anyways I think TLOP was the only Kanye album with bad rapping.
Yeezus is different in style so it wasn't as traditional as the bars on his previous albums, but I enjoy it a lot and a few of the verses I consider to be among his best.
TLOP verses were just weak voiced, weak flowed, random, even more repetitive than Yeezus verses, and just as sexual as them with none of the quality.

Bound 2 is the only good track on Yeezus.

Gospel + Chance = Naahhhhhhhh, I'm good.

I dislike the track top to bottom. Kanye's verses, that mid 2000 style sample loop, the grating switch on the hook, everything.

Bound 2 is the only good track on Yeezus.

Disagree totally. "Hold My Liquor" is far and away my favorite track on the album. "I Am A God" and "Blood on The Leaves" round out the top 3. Then everything else. Then Bound 2 way, way, way down in the recycle bin somewhere.

I definitely think quotable is a net positive, so don't agree there and I don't get the lazy complaints, brehs this is just how Kanye raps now.

I have to admit I'm not sure what I think about FDT, I find myself skipping the song. And I agree with the subject matter wholeheartedly.

Yea FDT sucks and the fact it made the album is a head scratcher and G Eazy n Mackelmore Being on the remix is embarrassing. They ain't winning my opinion like dat.

No easy buckets.

Macklemore on the remix? Weird.

It's cool that he appears all over the place. Still strange that he's in the Collard Greens music video.

so I like the song. But I thought it'd be a street single rather than an album track. Idk why it was on there.

Pt. 2 with Mackelmore and G Eazy was a terrible choice.

I got Graduation number two behind CD. It's such a fun, concise album. I even dig the shit that everyone hates, like Drunk and Hot Girls and Barry Bonds. He absolutely killed it with the whole electronic vibe.
