PlayStation Now officially coming to PC

Great that some titles are coming to PC, never really wanted just for a few titles, but I do hope that I can use the Xbox controller for them and not have to be forced to use the DS such an un-ergonomical controller.

Just hope the PSNow price is reasonable

Every genre. I never had a ps3 so I think this might be a good way to play some of the great exclusives I missed out on.

I found the list of games available here https://www.playstation.com/en-us/explore/psnow/games/ thanks.

Can anyone comment on psnow performance? Is there noticeable latency and how is the quality?

It's going to vary based on your connection and setup at home. IIRC they do a free week trial so you'll be able to test some games out before a big commitment.

Fuck. Yes.

My PS4 will now officially be useless. No need to have it set up anymore. No need to constantly switch my ethernet cable every time I switch between using the PC and playing a PS Now game. Good times coming.

The bad news is that the dream of having PS4 games come to the service at some point is an even more distant fantasy now. But oh well. That PS3 library still mighty strong and will keep growing. Hope they put PS2 and PS1 games on the service too a some point.

Why couldn't you have put a cheap switch in place to avoid that?

Well the service varies from people to people, I tried it out and it wasn't too bad a few lag spikes here and there but nothing too bad. The video quality is meh, I mean Sony could do better if I'm not mistaken it's 900p, not sure haven't used the services in a while so it could have improve. I mostly play rpgs/jrpgs, a few adventure, and platforms here and there.

One game I would recommend is Legends of heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.

So at the end of the day is the same as PS4? You only can play the broadcast of the game in his native resolution and framerate?

I've never owned a PS3 but there are about a dozen games on it I want to play eventually. My Plan has been to just buy a used PS3 and those games and play them and then sell it all.

However with this news, I may just get this instead. I just built a new PC so the timing is nice. :)

This is Playstation Now. It streams PS3 games. If you mean would it be any different if it streams to your PC, then I don't see how that could be any different. Well, unless the app does some kind of better image resizing or something.

So this is why they paid big bucks for Gakai.
Sweet.

It sucks its PC only what about Mac users?

Will there be a way to "trick" my Nordic living ass to be able to use it? I live in Norway and I miss Playstation video and PlayStation now. Don't hate me gaf.

Somehow, it is funny to me, that we still don't get to experience Red Dead on PC. Not even though this...

Maybe I'll give it a try. Always wanted to try Uncharted 3 and my PS3 is 250km away..

I just want the driver end of the bargain, would help clear up issues we get right now with some games.

I've just been using an asus bluetooth usb adapter, and it's fine so no need for the adapter.

I think the only thing missing in ds4windows is the ability to use the ds4 speaker and headset port.

It's kinda amazing how many people, on YouTube, Facebook, etc.. think this means PlayStation is now on PC and they no longer need the consoles. So many are completely oblivious that PSNow is just PS3 games.

This sounds cool, but I still don't see the need to sign up for PS Now. It's just a cloud service for legacy games that you can buy used for much less.

Sony should really think about making PS Now part of the PS Plus subscription. What would be even cooler is if they added PS4 games to the mix. For example, if you buy digital PS4 games from PSN you also unlock a cloud copy that you can play on any device. That would be awesome.

I mean, psnow is twice the cost of ps plus... So unless you mean the other way around (getting now should give you plus free, which I agree with) I don't see that happening.

Not getting the hype around this announcement, we can't adjust any of the graphics/performance settings and then there's the latency to contend with.

Is it possible to alter the settings via mods or hacks? Otherwise I'll just stick to playing these games on my actual ps3.

So every PC can now be a Playstation3. Nice.

I assume when PS5 rolls around, the PS4 games will start getting added? That would be sweet.

Going to go out on a limb and suggest that some of the people looking forward to it don't have a PS3.

Bold assumption, I know.

Won't this be terrible with the low resolution and latency?

Almost certainly, yes.

You're just playing a PS3 remotely, so you're stuck with PS3 resolutions/framerates, and with the added latency on top, so I don't see how it won't a worse experience than even a bad PC port.

On the upside you do get to play some of the stuff that stayed exclusive.
