I disagree.
Just seen HDTV Test put this review up they are one of the best TV review sites on the internet and provide a really good look into this 4K HDR TV cover many aspects which is important for gamers, so I thought I'd link it for people looking to buy this year.

They confirm the HDR Game mode Samsung enabled is legit and not watered down so very impressive 22ms input lag which is pretty much the lowest HDR input lag you'll find on a 4K HDR TV this year I'd say. Also, they go over the bad points of the TV so people looking to buy can make an informed choice.

Right now this is the best TV with a great combination of 4k, HDR, Picture Quality and input lag for the price.

Thanks for sharing - this is a good resource for gamers in the U.S. as well. I've got the 55KS9000, which is a bit of a step up, but also has that sweet 22ms lag limit in game mode.

Anyone looking to get into 4K HDR TVs for home theater and gaming should avoid Sony TVs and go with either Samsung for mid to high budgets and Vizio for low budgets. There isn't a single good 4K HDR set by Sony with acceptable input lag for games.

One thing to note in case this review doesn't: TURN OFF AUTO-UPDATING if you're happy with the way your TV works. Samsung pushed out several firmware updates this year that broke core (and critical) features - I had to wait a month for them to fix their mess before I could use my TV the normal way this summer.

The KS9000 is not worth the increase in price vs the KS8000 for the performance you get according to rtings.com

Nope. Look at the stands.

It's all very confusing but look at the Samsung UK website and you'll see none of the model numbers match the US.

Debatably so. In the long run the OLED would be the better option imo. I picked one up (55C6) for the Xbox One S myself and while I can't attest to HDR input lag, general input lag is not noticeable to me and this is in and outside of game mode. I will say the OLED screen is the best around for picture quality and imo Dolby Vision handily puts HDR10 to shame. The LGs and Vizios too it think support both HDR formats and keep in mind Dolby Vision is hardware based so if the TV you buy doesn't have it, it won't get it. You'd need a new/different model.

Bummer that it's so expensive. It's hard to justify spending so much money when my 1080p it's pretty great and 4K content is limited. I'd love one to go with a PS4 Pro but man it's a lot, especially between the two.

Just placed an order on Samsung.com this morning for the 65" ks8000 for $1475 through my wife work. Looking forward to getting it this week.

Gaming consoles don't support Dolby Vision and Vudu ditched DV exclusivity so I think the format war is coming to an end.

and Samsung TV's have that One Connect Box which they could theoretically release an upgraded box to support DV. They did that with the older models.

I think the LG B6 OLED has a lag input of ~63ms in HDR mode, so the Samsung is a lot better in that regard. I'm waiting for the lag input on the 4K OLED's to get under 30ms at least before I jump in.

Strange, Australia also has the 9000 series as the top of the line. From looking at the UK Samsung site, the KS9000 is a curved screen variant of the KS8000.

The KS8000 is the one that I want..either 55 inch of 49 inch, whichever ends up being cheaper..really hoping for a good deal this Black Friday Im not looking to spend an arm and a leg on a TV but it would be nice to have a Smart TV 4K HDR in my room for a change

Congrats! Exactly the same TV I got a couple of months ago and I love it. Be sure to check out calibration settings on rtings. They have auto motion off though and I enjoy it set to 7 or so.

Knew about Vudu, but I would hope someone wouldn't drop the cash required on a set like this just for gaming. I was referring to 4K media consumption in general. Sadly I agree though, Vision is superior but the hardware restriction is a boon and a curse. Also wasn't aware that Samsung could do that/offered that. If I had been might've made TV shopping a little more heated.

I think it would be best to wait out till next year, when vendors are set to release the newer models.

You could probably grab some of the older models at substantial discounts.

Picked up the 55" version yesterday, very happy with it. Almost wish I went all out and got the 65".

These 4K tv threads are pretty informative. Probably won't get one till 2018/2019 but this is pretty helpful right now just to judge the market.

Hopefully oled tvs are cheaper and have better input lag by then.

Pick up the ks8000 or ks8500, from my understanding there isn't enough of a difference to the ks9500 to justify the higher cost. Check if you know someone who gets corporate pricing through their work on the Samsung site. Saved me $450 doing it that way.

Ah fuck, I completely forgot about input lag, chroma and OLED.

And you're right, buying an HD TV seemed so straight forward in comparison :/
