The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 2 |OT| Class Reunion

SolVanderlyn

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Celine outright confirms during a sidequest that there was a Divine Knight housed in Lohengrin Castle at one point, but it's gone now. As for the statue in the north... it could be a Divine Knight, but I have other thoughts as to its significance. Though they may not be mutually exclusive.

About that... Read this if you don't mind some light Ao spoilers (and they don't reveal much that we don't know from CS1/2 anyway.) It's the most convincing theory I've read about her so far.
Thank you for the link. Very interesting read.

I could have elaborated a bit I suppose.

His blandness is what I find irritating. I just lost the whole crew at the end of CS1. Now who do I have as a replacement? Toval. Mr. Whitebread. Mr. watches grass grow for amusement.

He has almost no personality beyond A. being generally agreeable, B. periodically saying meme-y stuff like "Welp" that doesn't make any sense in context. He's like a black hole of a character, and he's not who I want to be spending time with. Thus I find him irritating.

It's cool everybody, I'll do first aid! Sounds like a good plan to me! OK, let's not overdo it here! Welp, your sister sure loves you Rean! I don't mean to be overly snide. I just don't understand the point of the character. He has no meaningful relationship or interactions with anybody, and no interesting character traits. Why is he even there?

And this is all amplified by the fact that your first three characters in the sequel must be the least interesting and most smarmy characters in the game. It's like a white bread sandwich with two slices of white bread and another slice for the filling.

Yar, I'm not really defending Toval; I just found it curious. I guess this is a case of contextual irritation, it that it's not really due to something he actually does but rather how potentially better anybody else in his place would do it.

As an aside, "welp" is a meme thing? All these time I thought it's just a colloquial, softer way to say "oh damn."

top floor of a certain dungeon

Anywhere else that I can go for for Vanish-resistant accessories e.g Dark Pendulums and the likes? I could always buy the Abyss thing from Hugo but I want to save mira instead if possible.

Ouch. I had some pretty odd bugs in CS1 too. The game locked up once, and another time I managed to get the game stuck in an endless animation loop in battle because there was a dead character who wasn't dead and it froze all turn progression.

How do you play for 6 hours without saving? And if you're in the finale, you aren't close enough to the end to just watch it on youtube.

Yes, exactly, conditional irritation.

Re Welp, I liken its usage in spoken language to saying LOL out loud. Because it is synonymous with a more widely used construction ("well" with a sigh/OK with an eye roll or "that's funny" in the case of LOL) its primary function is to signal allegiance with a particular language group, in this case millennials and those who converse with them frequently (e.g., on message boards). So Toval saying "Welp" is just as odd to me as his saying "LOL" would be. It's derivative message board lingo. Am I supposed to think Toval spends most of his time in CS's internet's chat boards arguing with CS's version of millennials? Or is that a better descriptor of the localizer? Just like everything about Toval I don't get why it's there/what it's supposed to make me think about him.

Had some odd bugs of my own in CS I, a couple involving not actually being able to hit enemies on the field, but three more serious ones also involving the game freezing. First time was when I was attempting to boot the game up, second time was while playing Blade during (CS I Final Chapter spoiler)
the school festival
, and the third was during the final battle of the game. All required hard resets of the system.

Finally finished the first game last night and I just reached the "Prologue" title screen in the sequel.

One minor disappointment I had at the end of the first game was that I had missed out on collecting certain items so I was unable to get the special Ore for the ultimate weapons. Is there a similar thing in this game, and if so, what should I be looking out for from the start?

You'll want to collect all volumes of Gambler Jack II (fourteen in all) to trade for a full piece of Zemurian Ore before the Finale, which will let you make an ultimate weapon once you have it. Just to note, trading all volumes of the book doesn't mean that you won't get to keep reading it in the notebook. Collecting shards to make more full pieces still seems to be a thing, but I haven't gotten to a point factoring that in just yet.

ahahahahaha

Comparing Estelle to Rean is almost unfair considering how much better Estelle is as a character.

HTnHUW1.jpg

Comparing a game's OST to Chrono Cross.

Comparing a gaming year to 1998.

Comparing a protag to Estelle Bright.

These things will only leave the contestant sullied. Do not attempt.

How do you play for 6 hours without saving? And if you're in the finale, you aren't close enough to the end to just watch it on youtube.

No save points can be a bitch with no F5 functionality. Living proof is typing this.

Wheres the second bike color found? May as well grab it since I got all the rest. An who should I make the second ultimate weapon for? First one went to Laura. Using her Rean/Emma/Gaius/Fie/Machia for my final team so it should prolly go to one of 'em.

George sells the second color on the list (Yellow Coloring), IIRC.

I made the second one for Emma because she's a destroyer with artes, and then Rean's, and then Fie's.

Oh! Musta just passed over it pretty early on in the game. May not have had or thought it was worth the money at the time.

Emma it is! Her an Laura are the huge damage dealers so it makes sense!

Wow, the gulf between Rean's enthusiasm to see Machias again and my own was comically wide.

Also, if the world is going to shit, why am I running CS1-style random errands for townspeople again? :\ Oh look, my student ranking reset too!

Is the rhythm of this game basically exactly the same as CS1? Because I was hoping for a little more serious business.

Okays all done with my preparations aside from making
ex orbs
? Been using hp2/atk2/spe2. Those good enough ta roll through to the end or should I shake 'em up?

Ya still get requests in each part sure an the rhythm is similar yet things still felt different enough for me somehow.

It's a JRPG, things that don't stop you running random errands for towns people or exploring random ruins in search of super weapons include giant meteors that are about to wipeout the planet, conceptual engines of destruction and Evil Gods / Demon Lords already having manifested in the world.

Sure - I'm fine with that. Just wasn't expecting the sequel to feel quite SO much like CS1 in gameplay rhythm. I'm only five hours in, still hoping it changes up more.

Ok I know people complained about *final dungeon story spoilers*
Class VII getting saved by the other characters once the villains go Super Saiyan, but Arseid vs. McBurn is HYPE AS FUCK!! Greatest moment in the game right there.

Realistically though, Class VII really shouldn't have been able to take him on, so I understand getting saved here at least. McBurn pulled a dimensional sword out of his ass along with going Super Saiyan.

That said, it's a shame they haven't made Rean use his Spirit Unification in the story much past when it was really useful in the story during the Intermission. Would've also been hype (AS FUCK) for Rean to use that, especially if he was able to summon Valimar at the same time. Hell yeah. Too bad it didn't happen though.

To be fair, he did use it to open the barrier, but that depleted Valimar mana

Yeah I know, though he almost did before Arseid showed up.

Finale spoiler

No he didn't.
he intended to use Valimar

Ogre
would had done jack shit against Mcburn since Victor easily defeated Ogre mode in CS1 and Mcburn is at the same level as Victor

That's what I meant, that he was going to summon Valimar. Not sure if you misunderstood me...

Also Rean is stronger in CS2 than CS1 and has a better grasp on his Ogre mode now. That said I doubt he still would've been able to defeat McBurn or Victor. That's why I wanted him to go into Ogre mode AND pilot Valimar at the same time. Same as when he destroyed the barrier in front of the castle.

A gameplay question, a bit spoilerish:
how should I build Valimar? Which stats should I focus on? I'm playing on Nightmare.

I thought you were just referring to activating Ogre mode.

Act 1 Part 1

The hooded guy was most likely Instructor Thomas based on the figure. What is he? Seems like he's not your run of the mill teacher.

Nobody is probably going to answer that for you since it is not revealed until 2-1/2-2, but yeah, that is a pretty good guess, lol.

I dont like using action, slower valimar means more Morning Moon time. My final build was attack 1 + attack 2 + attack 3

I'd swap out Attack 1 for HP 3. The attack boost you get from 1 is minuscule and more HP = surviving longer and you get more HP back when you use healing moves.

i feel like someone at the animation team is real proud with the new hug and headpat animations to the point that Rean needs to get some 'action' any time another female is in the same cutscene.

starting ch2 now (well after work). hope there are some new S-crafts. still think Rean's is the lamest looking shit ever. hope he gets a better looking one.

I hope Rean will try to headpat Duvalie and get punched in the face for it in CS3.
