How's the 999 twist gonna work on anything than DS?

I would imagine that thing that says "ADV Screen" with a "switch" icon would probably be it.

Not sure how I feel about this. One the one hand, I already own both of the original games (DS and Vita, respectively) but have never played the third. I'm glad more folks might get a chance to play them, especially on the PS4, but why not include the 3rd game for the sweet, sweet trifecta? It would be a no-brainer for me at that point to have them all in one tidy package.

Holy fucking shit! I'm in there day 6^1/2.
Cool for VLR, but I won't budge from the stance that if you aren't playing 999 on DS, you're playing it wrong.
Lol no, while I'm very interested in seeing how they adapt it to a single screen, people overestimate how much on an impact the double screen makes, it can be adapted.

anything that gets the game into more people's hands is good. y'all acting as if this completely ruins the game or something.

Does for me honestly. I didn't really even care for it that much before THAT part. That part retroactively made everything before it amazing for me.

I'd rather buy 999 by itself on Vita, since I already own VLR, but as long as I get a physical copy of 999 out of it... cool. I just won't be pleased when it's $39.99 instead of $29.99, for another Yomawari/Firefly Diary situation.

I already have VLR and ZTD on Vita, so not sure which version I'll go with, but picking it up Day 1 regardless!

Kinda wish 999 HD came to 3DS so I could complete the collection there.

For hope of this series reaching any type of higher level popularity, I hope these release on steam.
Ztd probably didn't get super high sales mainly because the others weren't on pc.
Also I want an easy way to force my friends to play them and current 999 is super dated with super slow text scrolling.

Same for me.
I had middling impressions of it prior, but the fantastic use of the medium blew away all my expectations.

If you were doubting it, from the EU blog...

PUZZLES

Also seems to confirm flow chart thank god. I don't recommend 999 to anyone because of the BS of having to replay the opening sections again and again.

I've never played these games. What order should they be played in? What type of game is this?

They are a Visual Novel/Puzzle hybrid, though they get less Novel-ish as the series went on.

999->VLR->ZTD

What exactly am I missing?

The DS 999, despite having lower resolution everything than the iPhone port is the best version as it has escape room puzzles in it, rather than stripping everything out to make it a visual novel for the phone version.

They stripped all the puzzles out as it would be easier on a phone, and because... well... there are some surprises.

If you really want to know, you can google it. I don't feel comfortable saying here. It's generally a well kept secret too, as I played through the whole series in prep for ZTD, and I had no idea.

Really hope I can get 999 separately on Via because I already own VLR.
Will definitely get the double pak on PS4 though. And on PC if that's still a thing.
