Something that needs time/money, it's not a button click. Activision has no incentive to do that.

Sure they don't. They really don't have an incentive to release on win10 at all.

So it begs the question- Why do it, if you are not trying to make a product that people will actually want to buy?

If the answer is "MS payed for this to happen to bolster their store". Then it begs the question, why wouldn't that purchase include the 1 feature that would actually allow this to be a feather in the cap rather than another point of ridicule.

I refuse to believe this is true.

Tales from your ass?

This is based on what exactly?

Is this confirmed?

Because this sounds like total bs.

The source is a dude on a train? What is this thread.

That doesn't mean anything, the Xbox app will show you playing World of Warcraft etc.

I don't believe this anyway. Microsoft may be stupid but Activsion are not. They wouldn't allow this to happen.

For you.
I mean, whatever, if my only source was "I heard it from a guy on a train" I'd be skeptical too.

Kind of amazing that this turned out to be real, though. Infinite Warfare: Windows 10 Sent to Die Edition confirmed.

I mean, the W10 version being a thing was already known due to it showing in the W10 store. And it not being crossplay was pretty much a certainty if you thought more than 3 seconds about it.

Aren't all the COD games on Steam post COD4 entirely reliant on Steamworks? Why were people doubting that the Win10 Store version was separated?
CoD on @#$£€¥§ Wii had a self-made matchmaking for some reason (worked for some time after all regular WFC games stopped), it wasn't that much of a stretch to assume Actidevs will come up with something.

Also the people that are confused about trains need some Journey in their life.

And I also don't understand why this is happening, which is why I posted it. It was too amusing not to share.

Because MS payed them to, unfortunately this payment covers only creating UWP version and nothing about crossplay with other platforms.

That wouldn't be free.

I will take that bet....100% the other way...no way Microsoft would take them game if there was that stipulation

Only thing i can think of is activision is publishing it on the windows store for a laugh (which microsoft couldnt' stop them from doing)

EDIT: also bizarre is why wouldn't we hear anything concrete on this version if the game is coming out tomorrow? The whole thing seems unlikely to happen

You really think Activision cares? MS wanted the name CoD in their store, Activision delivered. It just goes to show how tone-deaf MS is when it comes to PC gaming and I have zero trust in that company to make the Win10 anything other than absolute and utter garbage.

When I say "take the money and run", I'm looking directly at Activision. I actually had a line about them actively trying to sabotage the MS Store from within with shit like this but thought it would be too sensationalist. As bad as Activision is for this, MS really should be the ones ensuring this kind of thing doesn't happen, put their ego and penis envy of Steam aside and realise they actually have to have customers to be competitive. It's beyond a joke at this point.

More chance of finding someone in No Man's Sky.

Poor NMS, even when the Windows Store is getting shit flung at it, NMS gets hit by a a few stray pieces.

If anyone had any doubts before, it's pretty evident that the Win 10 store is a complete fucking joke and will continue to be a complete fucking joke outside of anything that isn't a MS 1st party game.

So, serious question : who would ever buy this? Like, even if this sells only 5 copies, I am curious who those 5 persons are, because.... Why?

People who don't know better and don't bother looking into things. They probably don't play many games and don't have steam installed.

If true , that would be the most ridiculous thing sony has done this year .what kind of clause will let that to happen? I mean this is the most bizarre spin.

Let's be honest, Win10 store needs help/support. You don't have to make deals to keep things from a store that isn't getting them already

This is the worst possible outcome of a digital storefront. Splitting the MP user base by store, doesn't just hurt the people buying the Win10 store version, it hurts all players. The split will be comical this time around but MS wants to push this store. They want to have a bigger piece of that pie. This shit is completely unacceptable. MS insatiable hunger for control over the PC platform is infuriating.

Be one of the 10 players Worldwide on the Windows Store version.

FTFY.

Joking aside, what an odd move. I'm guessing it's because of Xbox Live integration, and Activision not bothering with working out crossplay between Steam and Xbox Live. Do any games other than Rocket League have cross platform multiplayer? Hell, how many online multiplayer games have released on both Windows 10 Store and Steam?

Yeah, all jokes aside, this is a really, REALLY bad direction to go on. Pc online player bases are often already lower then consoles, why does Microsoft want to make it even lower?
