Are there only two bosses?

Also about difficulty... we are almost getting bored with the enemy waves, because they're pretty easy, but struggle on the bosses. Prob <50% W/L on the bosses. So if we up the difficulty to mahe the waves more fun, will that make bosses even worse?

And one more question: Why no drops? I've played for hours and never get a drop... even people I'm playing with haven't. Wtf?

I think waves scale harder than bosses themselves. I remember playing Suicidal and was just really happy to get to the boss. They're very manageable once you're familiar with the move set. Difficult waves make people panic a lot more and split up.

Loving this game so far and I've only played on one map besides the ones in the beta. I'd recommend this game to anyone on the fence

If this game is boring and easy to you, up the difficulty. The boss will get tankier, but Normal is too simple. Hard is where it gets good and Suicidal and Hell on Earth are a real challenge.
As you go up the difficulty levels, not only do Zeds get more health as you would expect, but they use new attacks (don't go near a Husk on Suicidal or HoE), dodge and sprint at you instead of casually sauntering into your bullets.

For now. There was a rumor about them doing a "Matriarch." But who knows on that since they scrapped Martial Artist/replaced with the shitty Survivalist to get this out the door.

Sort-of. The bosses become bullet sponges, but that's where the coordination and teamwork (Medic and Zerk walls) happen. If you were playing on PC there is mods out there that will give you the ability to have the Zeds higher-level stuff (like the Husk's suicide attack) on lower difficulties. But... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe it's not on consoles. You're really not missing anything. I've got like 10+ USB's I can't sell due to Steam's bullshit "WE WANTS YOU TO USE A SMARTPHONE AND ONLY A SMARTPHONE!" 2factor restriction.

Just so I don't assume, is there an option to disable the soundtrack altogether? I'm not a fan of that type of music.

I would think so, turning down the music is a pretty standard option (but of course, Im assuming here, haha)

I turned it off after the first couple weeks when I played it on Early Access on PC. Im not a fan at all either.

Just turn it down. I listen to Spotify psn app, works fine.

Worth getting if one would play it primarily solo?
I liked the first one but got bored on my own pretty quick, and I am imagining it is the same this time around?

...It's a co-op hoard mode shooter. If you don't have any intention of playing public games while a "solo" player, I don't see why you'd buy this. Especially if you already have played the first and knew it wasn't for you?

How about because the official fucking website specifically says it is both?

In either Co-Op or Solo mode, players engage hordes of AI controlled Zeds across multiple waves until they reach the boss or die trying...
Nevermind the fact I recalled reading an interview or a comment awhile back that the developer wanted to try and make it more appealing for single players.

So you confirmed my suspicion it was indeed marketing on their behalf and it is still best enjoyed playing with other people. Did you really need to be a dick about it?

To answer your question: You can play it solo and finish the game just fine. But the main selling point of it is it being co-op.

Like I said: You played the first and figured out it wasn't for you. What makes you think the second radically changed? It's the same gameplay/systems just slightly changed. You could solo KF1 as well, but that didn't make it a selling point.

Seeing lots of streams popping up on PS4. I think this might do very well there. It was advertised on the store front page for awhile now.

I have $25 credit from PSN, so I think I'll use it on this.

Full version feels more polished very cool to see it is finally out of early access on steam and hopefully a steady stream of new updates.

I agree. Feels good, maybe I dive back in as it's still a badass game.
edit: still getting weird stuttering, despite rocking 60fps though.

Try to limit your frames above 60, like 65 or something. That usually works for me, or try v-sync, a good v-sync doesn't give you input lag but I'm not sure if KF2 has the lagless one. All I know is that I don't get any stuttering but the flex blood is still broken though (for about a year now).

Overall the game is still pretty awesome but there is one major problem. Tripwire was so dead set on making new perks that they totally fucked it up and all they did was just split perks for no other reason but to make more of them. For example sharpshooter from KF1 is sharpshooter + gunslinger in KF2, commando from KF1 is commando and SWAT in KF2 and almost the unthinkable has happened and berserker from KF1 became a berserker and martial artist in KF2, luckily they scrapped the last one, phew. Instead they gave us a new perk which is just off perk with a few benefits, it's not too bad.

I think there is still room to make new perks without chopping up existing ones into two, like electric weapons (shock rifles, tesla guns, etc.), traditional weapons (explosive arrows, gunblades, etc.) or add more off perk weapons that anyone can use and gain xp from them (riot shields, dual wield micro smgs, special grenades, etc.). I hope this game will have as long legs as the first one because the foundation is there they just need to build upon it.

So you confirmed my suspicion it was indeed marketing on their behalf and it is still best enjoyed playing with other people.

Well yeah, most coop games tend to be better with actual coop partners but that doesn't mean that the game isn't fun solo. It is actually better to play solo rather than to have bad teammates who's only contribution is making waves stronger and longer. I routinely play the game solo and I can easily do the hard difficulty, I guess the game is overall a bit easier than the 1st game and more oriented towards single player.

I just picked this up digitally after ordering on Amazon, but they had no stock. Only cost £5 more on PSN. Bit confused how you can have no stock 1 day after release.

So this game is pretty awesome, however...

Got my first drop last night -- some crate thing -- that costs real money to open. No in-game path? AND it's a LOTTERY?

Wtf... gross. So gross.

Matchmaking doesn't seem to be working or is there just nobody playing.

There doesn't seem to be an option to create an online game

The music in this game is wonderful.

Fit for a King is a great Metalcore band, and im glad to see them in here, as well as the option to turn on vocals.

Just like Hotline Miami, this is one of those games that puts you into a trance when playing it. The visuals and sound just go so well.

I like to cross the streams sometimes and put the Hotline Miami 1/2 soundtracks on while I play. There's also that 4hr extension of Hydrogen that works wonders.

Quick question about the Medic. The syringe is a self healer and the medic grenade is an AOE healer for all teammates and you?

Also, do you not unlock permanent weapon upgrades? It's simply a matter of buying what you want for a temporary upgrade round to round, but it doesn't carry over beyond individual matches?

The syringe can be used to heal yourself (press alt-fire) and teammates (press LMB). Your medic guns also shoot healing darts that hone in on injured teammates (press alt-fire).

As for your second question, that's correct. It's rather similar to Counter-Strike, if you've played that. However, your character does become stronger over time - with each level up to 25, you'll get a slight boost to certain characteristics for each class/perk. I forgot what the bonuses for the Medic are, but a level 15 Medic will be more effective than a level 2, for instance.

The syringe can also heal your teammates. You are correct about the grenades, they also poison any zeds that walk into the healing cloud. Just in case you didn't know, the medic weapons shoot healing darts as their alt fire.

Correct. The upgrades you get are passive buffs. In KF1 the higher your level the better gear you would start with.

Ahhh, OK. I didnt know about the alt fire shooting healing darts, or the medic grenade poisoning zeds, that's great. I'll have to figure out what button on PS4 allows you to heal teammmates with the syringe.

Thanks, guys!

One more thing about the Medic Grenade, the healing cloud it causes also poisons enemies and if they stay in the cloud most weaker enemy units will die pretty quickly, it can be really good to create a 10-15 second barrier somewhere in a cloud of enemies and do a mass killing in tricky situations. It's one of the most useful things to have if you get surrounded, simply throw a Medic Grenade at your feet and not only will it heal you, it'll kill all the enemies immediately around you and allow you to escape.

One other question: what's the best way to ensure that I've beaten all of the maps on a certain difficulty before moving on to a harder diff. Is there a map select? Can you isolate certain maps to search for?

Thanks again.

If you host a server on PC, you can change what maps are in the 'map cycle', could limit it to one map or make multiple to vote/cycle between from the total selection.

I don't know how the PS4 version handles lobbies, so don't know the answer to that one.

A reminder for people to check out custom Killing Floor 2 maps on PC, there's some very good ones. One of the best things about KF1 was the community maps and things, and KF2 seems to be continuing that trend.

Once you reach a high enough level Normal and Hard become cakewalks to solo. Even Suicidal isn;t that tough at level 25.

It's not as fun as playign co-op, but you'd be able to guarantee what maps you play.

Been playing a lot of Sharpshooter since it wasn't in early access last time I played. Feels like the crossbow is a lot weaker in this one. Maybe I'm just not high enough level (just hit 12, mostly play on hard) but I'm used to taking heads off scrakes and FPs a lot easier than this. Still use it though.

Haven't used the railgun much aside from bosses...the M14EBR is just too good.

Any idea on how to kill the Patriarch before he heals?

It's going to sound obvious, but your squad needs to be aware that he'll try to bolt. You must do enough damage in the small window you have before he gets out of range. Trying to block him from leaving the area can work. You're out of luck on a map as open as Black Forest though. It might be tough to do at all if you don't have some higher level perks in the squad.

It should be normal fire if you have the syringe out.

This plus having folks hold barriers while you throw a medical grenade right in front of the door. If you can stack up tons of zeds on the other side, the blue smoke will reach the outside of the door and poison each one of them. This is a good tactic to clear the weak mobs since one grenade will kill most weak zeds

I've barely put any time into this since it first came out on Early Access. Looks like they've fleshed out the class abilities quite a bit from the first game. I'm assuming we won't get a christmas theme this year?

If you do use the rail gun, use alt fire to turn off the auto targeting mode. It'll do more damage per shot that way. Railgun is pretty good against Scrakes and Fleshpounds

Been rocking a Survivalist with dual Desert Eagles and Katana ever since I started my PS4 review. The parry is just so satisfying against everything.

The Zedconomy stuff is there on PS4. I've gotten a cosmetic drop, a weapon skin, and two crates so far. As of earlier today, the PSN market still didn't have keys for sale yet.

If you're in Europe and aren't buying the game with a group of friends I'd advise against buying this game on ps4. There is no way to create an online game while you wait for players to join you and no server browser, so you are stuck staring at a searching for games screen for ages. My controller actually turned off whilst it was searching.

I found a game last night and the lag in the game was pretty bad as well.
