I have a question . What is the difference between deluxe edition and special edition ?

My local store he imported them from euro/UK . And none of those comed with a figure. The special edition comes in a metal case that has noctis father on the case and the deluxe edition comes with that ble art ( he sent me pix on what's app of them both )

This has probably been mentioned, but this thread is quite long. Rating on a scale from 1/10? Is this FF13 or FF10-2 bad, or is ti more like FF6 / FF12 / FF7 good?

I don't think we're getting another FFXIII (10-2 was awesome btw), but good as 6 or 7? Probably not. Maybe that sweet middle but a lot of people don't know the full extent of the game yet.

Only played it on Pro (Lite & High Setting) and the frame pacing is quite bad. Never played the Judgement Demo, so I can't compare to that.

I have a OG PS4 here too, but not played it yet (I'm switching rooms all the time depending on my wife etc.).

Stable 30fps at least?

If the gaming community online has taught me anything in the last two years
Anything outta Japan=Anime bullshit no matter what

It is all anime bullshit. You're seriously going to tell me this game isn't some straight up anime bullshit?

It doesn't mean it's terrible. I watch anime and I still consider most of it straight up bullshit silly.

You're going to tell me One Piece isn't some straight up hardcore anime bullshit? Doesn't mean it's not one of the best manga ever made.

The Lite mode had less frame pacing, but it was pretty bad in HQ.

Man, SE, don't be a fuck and patch this please.

Thank you guys.

I just saw the play through on youtube. Its drastically different. The combat is still iffy though with the attacks. Where is the magic elements in the combats in the game?

Is the story any good, most FFs back in the SNES and PSone days had great stories.

Anyway, why would S-E release that demo in the USA?? It really misrepresents the game.

I'm so glad I installed the block site extension on Chrome. I just clicked on the Spoiler thread by mistake then the extension did all the work for me.

Game is a 9/10 for me so far, and im only mid way into chapter 3. I wont compare it to the older final fantasies because this is the year 2016 and mechanics/gameplay are totally different.

Tested it mainly in the Lore Guide Tutorial thingy (I assume stable performance in that little room), slowly rotating the camera.I don't have any analyzing tools at hand, but both modes feel equally bad.

Let's just hope that SE doesn't pull a FROM and simply ignores it.

Honestly you might be right, I tried twice and couldn't make it past the first 15 minutes :(

Feep is still playing it and Sora said that the ending was his favorite. He also liked the linear part of the game. Not sure if someone here has outright called it a mess from start to end.

Well, I think its a mess from the start till near end. The ending was amazing and very powerful that it made me wonder how the game managed to shake me up like that after disliking the story up to that point.

Aside from the story, I don't think people should freak out about the game. It has excellent gameplay and hunt system that I think a lot of people will invest in. The character interaction is great and the more you venture through to dungeons you'll start to appreciate that more. The guys literally comment on EVERYTHING!!

I think the game will review fine, the game was solid and ended on a high note if you actively ignore the story and focus on characters instead.

To piggyback off this. I am only on Chapter 3 and I am having a blast. I am not even furthering the main narrative I have played for about 3 hours today and it's all been sidequests and monster hunts. I hated hunts in XII (I hated the battle system) but LOVE them in this one. Taking on monsters 10+ levels higher and winning is really, really fun. If you like the battle system i think you will like the game in general. If you hate it then you probably won't like the game.

Special edition is day one with the noctis child steelcase. going by a listing on my local store.

Deluxe is amano artwork steelcase + kingslgaive and some other random in game shit.

The 260$ CE on SE store only has the figures and the bad looking steelbooks.

Day one edition in NA has a shit plain white spine and slightly metallic print on the cover. EU day one edition has a proper spine with logo and similar metallic print/ reflective print.

Hope that helps.

Also back to the difficulty thing. Anyone tried doing a super high level hunt on easy mode and trying to brute force? what happens?

I just watched Kingsglaive to fill in some back story to this.

What exactly did people hate about it? Nyx has been far more likeable than any of the main cast of FFXV, apart from being generic white game protagonist with brown hair.

It set up a hatred for the empire and a fondness for Luna (although i was hoping she would have put on the ring and kicked the Generals ass).

The Daemon was just a pure rip off of Emerald Weapon though. Not bad a film at all though.

Did you watch Brotherhood too? It's great.

You should watch Brotherhood Episode 2 and then realize how wrong you are about Nyx.

I thought Ignis was episode 4?

These comments are exactly why my hype has died down. Every time someone says something kind of positive about the game they follow it up with something absurd, like "story doesn't matter" or "10-2 was awesome".

I smell a MGSV situation brewing here, where a small minority of fans alongside newcomers enjoy it, but most series fans are burned.

Then again, some of the comparisons to XII are promising. I think the story in that game was pretty decent.

Enjoy my friend

Yo, so I downloaded the 1.01 patch but for some reason I can't warp in the field (out of battle), thought they added that?

I also cant find this so called mp3 player to play my car music out on the field either. Does that unlock later or something?

Feeling like i didnt get everything out the update lol but i do have the archives and animated characters in the menu though so.. and the red screen when you are almost dead

You have to first accept it for what it is. Which is probably the hard part. Then once you get further into the game and realize how damn fine the battle system is, you kind of forget about the cheesy nature of the game.

That's kinda funny to me bc hearing comparisons of ffxii especially regarding the way the story is done scares me. Ffxii is one of my least favorite FF games because of the story (or lack thereof) and characters.

Lmao, I dislike the story in XV but its nowhere as bad and incomplete as MGSV hot pile of garbage.

After playing the game for about 10 hours (Chapter 5) I will release my impression,

This a game that I waited for years and years, and I can't believe that I am actually playing the game for myself, first of all I am very surprised by how great the battle system is, it's really great battle system, it's easy to learn the basics but hard to master, it's fast paced but with a lot of tactics elements, it's not a button mashing system, you couldn't win any battle by just holding the attack button, and also I need to mention that the battle system is getting better and better when you progress more in the story, because more and more options become available by the time..

In the other hand I found that the main characters are really good, they are fun to follow and you will like them real fast, I can't talk about the story because I'm currently in chapter 5 and I need to progress in the story more before I judge anything in the story, but I can say that there will be people who will like the story and others will not, much like FF XII,

There is also the side quests, there are a massive amount of side quests, you can get those quests from almost everywhere in the game world, however there are a different kinds of side quests, one of these types is the hunt quests, you can take these quests from the restaurants and you will be rewarded with gil's (the main currency in the game) and other useful items, when you complete a hunt quest, your rank will increase, there are some hunt quests that require a specific rank, personally I enjoy the hunt quests in FF XV more the ones in The Witcher 3, for one reason, it's the combat system!!! the hunts with the crazy battle system make every single hunt quest an epic quest!

And I have to mention that there are a really strong side bosses within the hunt quests, now I will talk about the other type of side quests, the second type is the quests that you receive from the NPCs, there are also a massive amount of these quests, you will get some of them suddenly when you explore the world, or you can just talk to the NPCs, there are another type of quests, the third type is the quests that you receive from the other three main characters, these quests will appear in certain times or in random moments, so you just need to keep exploring and you will get some of these quests.

I'm currently playing the game on the normal PS4, and I found the graphics to be really good, especially in comparison to other open-world RPG games, but unfortunately there are some problems in the game, driving the car manually is frustrating, you can't control the car like you want, the car will move automatically most of the time, and some times the car just refuse moving to where I want it to go, so I use the automatic driving option always and give Ignis the wheel, second issue is the frame rate drops, and there are so many glitches (like most of the latest games), also there are so many animation issues, I can't remember any other nagitive points about the game, most of these problems will be fixed in the future patches.

I haven't encountered many bosses so far because I'm just in the 5th chapter, but so far all of them are great, I have also encountered a specific side boss and it was so epic!!, so you don't have to worry about this point, It's FF game after all, I got to see two regions so far, and there are more to come, the world is just so big, every single region is bigger than the entire FF XIII world, so it's massive world and there is so much to do, so enjoy the game.

I don't have more to tell about the game right now, and I hope everyone can enjoy this great game.

" Sorry about my weak language "
Nice impressions thanks. :)

The only way 10-2 was awesome is if you ignored the story/characters, or hated X's story/characters.

Maybe how dumb they looked sure, but FFX-2 characters relentless optimism was great. The entire world was having a great party after living for generations in a death cult. FF needs more stuff like this.

Which is why X-3 is such a fucking abortion of an idea.

It's structured a lot like XII, but unlike XII the characters talk to each other constantly (in a way that is quite well written) instead of marching through forests and deserts for literally hours between story beats. There is a lot of story but a lot of it happens during exploration.

Whether or not you like the characters is probably obvious already if you've seen most of the official media.

I just got a scene with Noctis and Prompto....it's literally impossible to hate Prompto after this scene + Brotherhood. I got emotional watching this scene play out which never happens with video games. Prompto is such is great character.

May have something for London. I've been told i can collect it tomorrow afternoon. i'll let you all know if it is a success, then i will share the location privately.

Likewise, I wouldn't mind being put on this list too. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything from my guy too.

I'd like to know the place if you succeed, I'm new to London so I don't know the places where I could find it.

Does anyone remember this picture? Smelled like such bullshit when I first saw it, but others were convinced.

So this turned out to be bullshit in the end, right? I mean GTAV and TW3's worlds are enormous, there's no way FFXV has that much free space, right? What size is it, roughly?

If it really is this big I will be SHOCKED.

Sounds good - this would make XII so much better. I really liked the characters in XII but felt I never really got to know them. Ended up being a (very enjoyable) dungeon crawl.
